HI so I semi-figured out Sail's outfit, still on the fence about Slate's and Spear's but I know I definitely want Slate to have a sun hat.

the circle thing on Sail's sleeve is a pin that he received from Epic, who is also in this mini "verse" thing, and who I also have to figure out.

Slate is pretending he's maintenance/janitorial staff, trying to sneak onto Sail's cruise ship because Thicket (his boss) told him that's where his next target is. Sail does not remember being told maintenance was coming over, and Slate is clearly lacking any sort of ID, so this is the scene right before Sail starts to do a friendly interrogation of this somewhat short trespasser.

Spear's text says "HE KNOWS," despite Sail technically not knowing yet. Slate could say he left his janitorial ID and outfit at home and Sail would believe him and escort him to the locker room so that he could borrow another one.

I might have to write this out, maybe Slate even catches the tiniest bit of a Feeling(TM)

OH ALSO Sail can't see Spear because he's a ghost/hallucination. He just thinks Slate occasionally glancing off to the side and mumbling things (and then promptly saying "not at you") is because he's nervous about being on a cruise ship in almost the middle of the night while there's no one out or something.
