The first time Cross had given Dust a kiss, it was almost entirely ignored thanks to the smooth and almost normal way Cross had delivered it.

It was just a tiny peck on his cheek, right below his right eyesocket. Dust hadn't paid much mind to it until Cross was gone from sight, it having been a sort of "parting gift" before he went to shower.

When Dust did realize, his face had begun to burn in embarrassment, and he felt like he'd been very spontaneously lit ablaze. He couldn't go after Cross to give one back, it was far too late for that now, but he felt like a teenaged girl who had just been invited to prom by her crush. He also felt a little bit like a fool, just standing in the hall as if he were one of the decorative potted plants Nightmare liked to keep.

But alas, his – albeit nonexistent – brain had short-circuited, and left him simply staring at the wall as if it held the secrets of the multiverse in its old, flower-print wallpaper. Or like it had just eaten beans mixed with watermelon and a side of garlic bread. Either way, he was staring at it, and he felt like he'd been dipped in boiling water like some sort of lobster. A blushing, embarrased, and incredibly powerful lobster, whose brain was already fried.

Horror found him at some point, he couldn't quite remember how long he'd just stood there contemplating his options and thinking about Cross, and had laid a hand on his shoulder and asked if he was okay.

No, Dust was not okay, but he managed to force his flush down for the moment and look up at his tall friend.

"'m fine. just thinkin'."

The much bigger skeleton gave an understanding nod, taking his hand off of Dust's shoulder.

"'kay. 's almost lunch time, by th' way."
