The dark, uninviting colours of the night shown no stars or moon. Heavy and gray clouds hung just above the horizon, where the sun had vanished just moments before. Any creatures that were out during nighttime now hid in the cover of darkness. No sounds could be heard, no chirps or music from crickets, nor the common bullfrog's croak. Even the grass lay unsettlingly still, even when a light breeze blew through the dark forest.
A figure slowly made their way past the silenced woods, their hooves taking careful steps as to not disturb anything. The pony's purple-orange eyes gazed around, in a possible attempt to ward off anyone that may be following. Tan-white wings unfolded as she looked up to the clouded sky in sadness. Her hooves stopped moving and made her stand perfectly still, contemplating if she should carry out her wish.
'Why do you wait?' A voice in her mind asked solemnly, almost teasingly. 'Do you wish for them to follow? So you could have a crowd of spectators to watch or stop you?' The mare shook her tired head to rid the thoughts and felt tears start to well up. 'If you're so adamant they hate you, why keep trying? Just rid this world of you.'
"Shut up..." She shook her head again with a whispered tone. Taking a deep breath, she looked skyward again before lifting herself in the air. Wings beat rhythmically against the cool night breeze that swept around her, but this only fueled her to continue. Something willed her to work against common sense, against what she had worked upon, but she continued upwards to the clouds.

Once the mare had touched the softness of competed air, her eyes closed and she fell back onto the cloud in exhaustion. Her eyebrows furrowed as the tears started to form and fall through, down her cheeks and the ground below. Her body turned face-down as her legs hugged the cloud, continuing to cry and sob until it burned.
'Why do you cry? Is it a way to make them hear you? No one has ever bothered when you cried before, why would now be different? Stop trying so hard to wish them to care. It's your fault for doing what you did.'

The pegasus gave a weak nod and a defeated sigh, wiping away tears that still clung to her eyelashes. She looked below the cloud, stepping forward slightly, wings folded against her side. A part of her wished to do this, but another wished not to. 'No one ever cared for you or enjoyed what you made. Just do it.'
She gave a regretful nod and jumped off the cloud toward the ground, quickly. Her wings tried to unfold and save her, but her hooves held them still as she continued. Her eyes caught sight of the village her friends and family lived in, all lights out and no guards to save the mare. Fur wisping about in a frenzy and tail curled tightly, she accepted her fate with closed eyes. The last thing she saw was a photo of everyone together, smiling and happy, within her mind before crashing harshly onto the silent, cold, dark ground and falling limp. No movements, no sounds, no tears came from her, as she lay still on the floor, finally ridding the world of herself.
