Mom: Oh, and I don't think you'll be able to ask that boy to Prom.
Me: Why?
Mom: Cuz Prom falls on that Saturday after your Spring concert for choir.
Me: So? Wait, is this about the transport-
Mom: No. If this was about transportation, I would have no problem getting you from the chapel one day to the college the next!
Me: Good-
Mom: It's because your grandmother and your cousin are gonna be here on that Saturday because of your concert.
Me: God dangit....
Mom: If you wanna go, you're gonna have to call her and see.

Me: Hey Gram-
Grandmom: You sound nervous. What's wrong?
Me: So they started selling Prom tickets on Monday, and I, being me, jumped to conclusions thinking that only Seniors could go, so I spent Monday, Tuesday, and Yesterday going "Not worrying about it.".
Grandmom: Mhm.
Me: Then it was made clear to me that Seniors AND Juniors could purchase tickets and ANYBODY can go, but I'm a Sophomore. I can't just walk up and buy a solo ticket.
Grandmom: Mhm.
Me: The thing is is then-
Grandmom: Is he in one of the grades that can buy a ticket?
Me: ...I'm sorry, what?
Grandmom: Is he. In one of the grades. That can. Buy. A ticket.
Me: ...
Grandmom: Do you want to ask a guy that is a Junior or Senior to Prom even though you're a Sophomore, therefore, also the reason why you're nervous?
Me: Yes, but how'd you know-
Grandmom: Honey I raised your mother and uncle!! Grandmas know!!
Me: True. Also, the other reason why I called is because Prom is on the Saturday after the Spring choir concert. The problem is is that's also the day that you and Kay are gonna be here, and Mom said I may not even have to ask him to the Prom because it's going on while you-
Grandmom: THAT IS NOT A PROBLEM!! THAT IS YOUR PROM, AND YOU ARE GOING TO IT REGARDLESS OF THE FACT THAT KAY AND I ARE THERE!!
Me: *quickly* Okayokayokayolayokay!! Let me make it till tomorrow and ask him first just to see if I'm even going or not.
