The defeat of the wind demon

"Come on, Jezebel! Don't let Will beat you!" exclaimed the husky voice of one of the eight college campus students cramped in Will's little apartment. This bloke with the blonde-haired squirrel on his shoulder was Chance, aiming on his law enforcement degree he was a bit tougher than the other six male students who decided to meet up and spend their weekend to do nothing but play video games.

"Give me a break, bro!" Came the raven black-haired girl's huff. "I'm not good at racing games!" Despite the incredibly lovely weather outside, all over the world in fact, these friends would do nothing outdoors. The strange thing about the weather, was the fact it wasn't overcast anywhere, there was not a single cloud that could be picked up on the radar.

"Dude! Will! Are you gonna be nice or what!?" Came the aggravated tone from Wade, though the big lug would never admit it, he had a soft spot for the vet in training. Besides it wasn't his fault he wanted to be fair, since he wanted to be a judge and all.

"No! I am not! She beat me at Gears of War! I'm gonna beat her at this game!" Came the remark from the scrawny boy with black rimmed specs. Smirking, he continued, "What? You want me to be fair for your girlfriend?"

"Not... His... GIRLFRIEND!!!" Screeched Jasmine, as she barely passed Will before he could cross the finish line. "HOOYA!" She cheered as she jumped off the grey beanbag in victory. Wade looked away in embarrassment, he was afraid of her catching him glancing her over, he was also hurt. It wasn't his fault he wasn't good at this sort of thing.

"Does it hurt Will?" Announced a different voice, Cathy smirked. "Losing? To a girl?" Jordan chuckled in amusement at Will's reddened cheeks, he found enjoyment in anger for twisted reasons. Being a psychiatrist in training, he loved to use his knowledge to push people's buttons.

"Shut up, Nurse!" Growled Will, "You so distracted me!" He said pointing at Jerry, whom jumped at being called out so suddenly.

"Huh?! It's not my fault! It was Larry's fault for choosing this game!" He said pointing at his twin, who only rolled his eyes waving a few bits of sign language lazily. Having lost his tongue in a car accident he could only tell his brothers what he was saying to the others.

"BOYS!" Shouted Jezebel, "Who cares!? I just freaking won a racing game!" She felt overjoyed, she beat her friend on a game she sucked at, this was the best day of her life. Taking a quick selfie, she uploaded her picture with the winner screen behind her to Snapchat.

"Uh...guys..." Said Wade softly, eyes wide staring out the window. Not noticing that the others were too busy ranting and raving to notice the strange phenomenon outside.

Percy was getting tired of sitting still for too long without attention, Cathy would give him attention, but to get there he would have to get through one obstacle... "CHANCE!" Freaked Will, "GET YOUR STUPID SQUIRREL OFF OF ME!" He started running around as Percy held on for dear life. "Why can't you have a normal pet!?"

"Because, Techie." Said the relaxed officer in training, "Larry is allergic to cats, Jerry is allergic to dogs, Jordan hates ferrets, Cathy hates mice, and Wade has bad experiences with birds." Cathy snatched the poor little creature off of the zipping technician in training, it's little claws digging gently into the sleeve of her shirt in fright. Maybe he should have just stayed on the couch...

"Guys..." Wade tried again, with a little more urgency.

"But I HATE squirrels!" Screamed the sore loser, it wasn't fair he was the last person to join the group of friends. Jordan snickered at his tantrum, and Larry and Jerry shared a few unspoken words with their hands, while the girls checked their phones.

"Yep, that's why I tamed 'lil Percy." Said Chance, "Just for you."

"Guys..!" Wade tried again, his voice breaking out a little on the end. Percy looked over at the terrified male, his beady little black eyes watching as he waved his arms in exaggeration to the window.

"Yeah, come on Will," Taunted Jordan, "Admit it! You like the little guy!" He gave another chuckle when the blond stomped his foot against the carpet.

"DO NOT!" He stomped his foot again, as if this would represent he would crush the little creature if he wasn't so afraid of it touching him. Chance rolled his eyes staring at the ceiling lazily.

"I totally agree with ya bro." Said Jerry to Larry, the three boys not staring out the window turned to him as if Jerry was talking to them.

Will grinned, "See, he agrees." Jerry jumped again at being called out by the same person. Larry gave a silent laugh, doubling over at his twins shocked face.

"O-oh! Sorry I was just agreeing with Larry on how much of a crybaby you're being." The group, excluding poor Wade, laughed at the red-faced gamer.

"I AM NOT A-" Started Will before Wade intervened.

"GUYS!" He shouted at a ear shattering decibel, "Will you all just shut up for a minute about how wimpy Will is and look out the bloody window!" The group jumped at the the judge in trainings spike in volume. "Something's up with the sky..." The rest of the group looked at each other before squishing to see...

A swirling mass of clouds in the sky, with silent lightning crackling within it. It seemed to stretch out forever and ever across the horizon. It was as if the sun was upset at the world for not enjoying its beautiful rays of sunshine. So it selfishly painted the sky in a dark array, with a demonic glare.

"Well...that is... Not anywhere near normal..." Drawled Jerry, Larry rolled his eyes and flashed a few angry signs, "Well what do you expect me to say!? That we're all gonna die!" Jezebel took a panicked step back. Wade noticed this in anger.

"Dude shut up and quit being morbid!" He shouted down at the biologist. "There has to be a scientific explanation..."

"What do you expect us to know?" Shrugged Cathy. "None of us wanna be meteorologists." Will backed away from the group towards the TV, changing the station from the wii to cable news. The sight astonished him, a satellite image showed the globe covered in dark clouds everywhere.

"Hey..." He announced, staring wide eyed at the screen, "Look..." Heading back to their chairs or beanbags they all watched as natural disasters occurred all over the globe heading their way. As if the TV show was making a joke a little timer was indicating how long it would take to get to their location. It read in bold red print: one minute.

"Is there a basement to this thing?" Asked Jordan calmly, never once letting an once of fear to emerge on his now serious visage. Will nodded and bolted for the elevator, his seven friends following after him in a haste. After flinging open his apartment door, Will zigzagged down several door filled hallways before the elevator came in sight.

"We're gonna make it!" Cheered Jerry, but...perhaps he spoke too soon. Before anyone could even brush the down button, the power went out in the entire complex. "Why does everything I say go horribly wrong!?"

"He has a point." Said Jezebel.

"Hey!" He pouted, crossing his arms over his chest. Wade smiled at the light teasing, even though they were in a life or death situation.

"Guys!" Interrupted Chance, "Will, there better be a stairway in this building!" Will thought long and hard trying to remember where the door was exactly. Which was also wasting precious seconds...

Snapping his fingers, he grinned in the red glow of the emergency lights. "I Know! Follow me!" He turned back from where the group came from and sprinted yet again. Wade groaned at the amount of running this little scrawny dude was making them put up with, everyone else seemed to agree. "Come on, we can make it!"

That's when a rumble went through the building..! Soon the whole building, started to vibrate with small tremors. "We have to get out of this building!" Yelled Jerry.

Jezebel glanced out the window briefly, hearing the sounds of rain, getting ready to complain about having to get wet. But the sight outside left her frozen in place. There were tornados outside! Her sister... A single tear escaped from her eyes remembering back home, on a day three years ago, her sister wasn't able to make it to the cellar...

Unknowingly leaving behind their friend, the others continued to rush to the stairwell to reach the lobby. But when they made it Wade looked around searching for the black haired girl. To make sure she wasn't left behind. But seeing her not running with the group, he snapped on the inside. Where did she go!? "JEZEBEL!" He halted and ran back, a vase had fallen from one of the decorated table in the complex, leaving his shoes to crunch the shards as he backtracked the way they ran, "JEZEBEL! WHERE ARE YOU!?"

Turning the corner he found her, much like a paralyzed state, she stood still like a statue. Still staring out that dreaded window... "Stacy..." She whispered obviously not hearing the panicked gibberish from her friend. She could only remember the panicked look on her sisters face as a piece of sheet metal sliced through her head. As her body fell to the ground... As her father was to late to shut the door on the gruesome sight...

"Jezebel! Snap out of it! We have to get out of here, before the building collapses!" She turned to stare at him with a dead gaze, she couldn't even register what was going on.

"W-Wade..." A gate was opened as more tears fell down her face.

Another major tremor rocked the building, Wade didn't hesitate from taking her into his arms, "Snap out of it!" He tried again as she only clutched onto his shirt. Wade rushed forward towards the spiral staircase, the others were already outside the building, waiting for their friends. The tremors and the winds and gusts were getting worse by the minute. Glass shards were everywhere, and there was barely any visibility with the major downpour.

And then...it seemed to freeze for no longer than a second... As the building in front of them split apart as the final earthquake broke apart the ground in front of them, "NO!" Yelled Chance as they all watched as the foundation slipped and cracked before them, sending the complex into the void. "JEZEBEL!"

The twins grabbed his arms forcing the raging man from going towards the crumbling building, towards his sister... they watched in horror as their friends were swallowed up by the earth.

"STOP! LET ME GO! I HAVE TO SAVE HER!" He roared trying to jerk his arms out of their hold. They let go of him suddenly and he fell to the ground, his form trembled as he held back the tears. "I can't loose you too..." He whispered, as the final wall of the building fell down, "Please!" He sobbed out loud punching his fist against the ground, "I love you, Dang It!" His hands were sliced into from the glass littering the ground, but even though he was hurt it didn't stop him from ramming his fist at the ground while tremors continued to rumble.

Percy clung to the inside of his shirt, soaked to the bone as he witnessed his masters mind snap as he desperately held on. Cathy came forward with her bag slung over her shoulder, medical supplies always on hand.

"Chance..?" She beckoned quietly, he looked up quietly at her through the rain, "Can...c-can I wrap your hands? I don't want them to get infected..." His eyes were red rimmed with the held in tears, he nodded lightly holding out the red stained appendages, she held one checking the depth of the wounds. "They're shallow thankfully, they won't need stitches at least." Though she was poking inside his wounds he never winced, not a single emotion was apparent but agony at the loss of his sibling.

Jordan had the same expression on his face as he stared at where his partner in justice had fell, but as he stared in that direction he noticed something off...falling from the sky... "Guys..?" They all turned their heads up, to watch as a bolt of fire erupted out from nowhere. And when it hit the ground, it seemed so serial... Because it erupted in four different directions. Crossing the globe like four axis lines... Words seemed to scrawl themselves into the earth with each line.

I am free of all shackles, you cannot cage me!

I am immortal! I am Stone!

A breath of me, is a step to the end.

I will not be quenched till the world is scorched.

It was almost like they were paths...to different destinations, to different fates. At that moment it was as if the friends ears were opened to the sound of chaos. Cries of help, moans of the wounded, sobs of the lost, wails of children and widows, sirens blaring, shouts of men trying to help the stuck... It was as if this was the beginning of the end...

"Why is this happening to us?!"

    "Please Help my SON!"

    "MOMMA! DADDA!"

    "Why is God Punishing us!?"

"What did we ever do wrong!?"

"HELP ME! PLEASE! SOMEONE HELP ME!"

And the sounds kept repeating, and repeating, and Repeating, REPEATING. It wouldn't stop! Chance covered his ears, clenched his eyes shut and tried to calm his mind. But all this did was send his mind reeling...till everything went black...and he fell forward nearly crushing his pet...

Then it was light, but it was strange... What is this happening to me? My vision... Why is everything black and white and, WOW. Wait... That's my body on the ground... Wait! Where am I going! Take me back to my friends! You..! Strange force! Oh gosh! I'm heading towards the place where the bolt of fire started...with the words... Which path am I taking? 'I am free of all shackles, you cannot cage me!' What does that mean? It's speeding up! What's going on!? Put me down!? You...thingy!? I actually don't know what has me... Now it's all a blur! Wait it's slowing... There's a ravine... Filled with fog, and in a fog there is a... Lady? No. Not a lady. A demon. DANG. She ugly.

"Look for the millionth time! I saw a lady in that ravine! She was devilish looking!" Argued Chance, he had made his friend reluctantly agree to come with him, to defeat this thing he saw in his vision. For what reason, he didn't know. But it just felt right to kill it and send it back to wherever it came from.

"I still don't get why you think this is connected to the natural disasters." Moaned Will. The six friends and squirrel had made it to the valley and were looking for a way down into it, each one equipped with some sort of weapon strapped on their back.

"It's a gut feeling, man." Hours later they had finally made it, Larry complained to Jerry about how long this trip took, Jerry held a finger to his lips trying not to anger Chance more then he already was. Not a moment later Jordan found a way down and they took their descent to their fate.

"I got a bad feeling about this..." Whispered Cathy, she clutched her medical bag closer, as they walked further into the fog.

A whisper blew past them with a sensation of ease, to all except Chance. It felt like a skeletal hand was ranking down his back, trying to prob his skull. "Welcome heroes, to my humble abode."

"Who are you...?" Asked Jerry, looking through the fog for the source of the appealing voice. Then it emerged, to the five others she was a tall elegant women in her mid-twenties, with white billowing hair that blew in a nonexistent wind, and dazzling eyes that captured their attention. She was curvy, which caught the males attention and made Cathy envious. She wore a dress that flowed like it was in the same breeze as her hair, it was white; a pure color. What was strange was that her feet wasn't touching the ground, she appeared to be floating with invisible wings.

"I am the Angel of Wind." She answered with a smile. But Chance saw straight through the beautiful glamor, Demon. It was like a skeleton giant, with black wisps exiting its soul. With burning embers for eyes, and teeth and claws like knives. It's grin was reddened as if it drank too much kool-aid, but he knew what that really was. Blood.

"You're a demon!" Yelled Chance, his friends looked over at him as if he's gone insane, "You helped kill my sister! You killed my friend!" Percy clutched his master's shirt more tightly seeing the same thing as Chance.

"You must be mistaken young child," The skeleton growled to him its claws elongating, "Angels don't help kill people."

"Yeah Chance," Drooled Jordan, "Look at her... She's gorgeous!" The others voiced their agreement, wondering why Chance thought that this women, was a demon when she looked and said she was an angel.

"Open your eyes! She Is Tricking You!" The monster glared at him, "What you guys are seeing is what she wants you to see! For the sake of Jezebel and Wade open up your minds!" They scrunched their eyebrows together, and as if they saw her through a carnival circus mirror they froze as the beautiful women melted away. Into the hellish nightmare it was.

The demon knew this and sprung at Chance, "You shall PAY! You were going to be my MEAL! Now Your Soul Shall Roam A Endless HELL!" Chance pulled his rocket launcher off his back and sent a shot at her leg, but it only seemed to glance off of it and explode behind the creature. Percy jumped off his shirt and ran into a crevice in the ravines walls, this was just a bit too much for the little guy.

Will grabbed the machine gun Chance loaned him and screeched at the top of his lungs, "FOR ZELDA!!!" Then he laid down the rain on the two story tall beast. It roared and turned her head towards the tiny pebbles that glanced off her rotting flesh. He yelled a battle cry and ran head on towards the beast as he continued to shoot her.

On her other side she left small pricks as Jerry and Larry threw grenades at her, "This is so much more fun than nerf gun battles!" Cheered Jerry, at least he thought that until she swiped a massive hand at them, "Fudge!" He screamed right before the twins were sent barreling into the jagged rock walls surrounding their epic battle. Cathy ran towards them, after sending another arrow at the massive beast.

Miraculously, the shot went into her heart, or at least where the human heart should be. This was a miracle due to her awful aim and...because the demon bellowed in absolute pain. Chance looked at Jordan and nodded at him, as they ran at her sending their shots into her heart chamber. She bellowed and screeched, desperately swiping at the missiles and shots from the bazooka.

All the while, Will was shooting in the air, like he just didn't care.

At least he was until the demon send gale force winds spiraling throughout the canyon, forcing the friends against the walls of the canyon as it stood up and gave a satisfied bellow! She thought she won the battle and got a easy chance to eat them. But Chance wouldn't have it.

Pushing off the wall with inhuman speed he sent himself hurling at her skull, as if a power from above was propelling him to stop this nightmare. His only thought as he was flying through the air towards her eye socket was, Good Lord, I'm going to die like this! At least he thought that until he hit the beast and the skull shattered!

The winds stopped at that moment and all they could hear was, "My brothers shall avenge me!" The beast sank into the earth like sand into a sieve, and the fog slowly dissipated away from them, across the globe tornados disappeared, and rain and snowstorms weakened. As well as hurricanes and tsunamis.

Chance stood up and whistled, Percy mounted him on his shoulder, he turned expecting applause, but all he saw was his friends gathered round a body that Cathy was desperately doing CPR on. "Stay with me Larry!" Panicked trying to revive the fallen friend, she stopped suddenly checking his pulse in desperation. "No..." She gasped, "No..! Larry!? Larry! LARRY! Nononononononononono!" She tried again, even though he was long gone.

Jerry fell to his knees, his clothes torn and bloodied, tears spilling out of his eyes. He looked to the sky as if to try and see his brothers smiling face from heaven, but the clouds only blocked him from even trying to smile. "Rest in peace Larry..." He whispered, "Wait for me..."

"This is all your fault!" Shouted Jordan at Chance, this shocked everyone! Jordan was showing an uncharacteristic emotion, "If you didn't have that stupid vision, he wouldn't have died!"

"This isn't my fault!" Shouted Chance.

"Oh Yeah! Who dragged our sorry butts down here into this pit! HUH!? Answer me!" He shouted pointing a finger at the former cop in training.

    "I did b-"

"Who kept repeating that we needed to come here to destroy whatever was down here!? Who did Chase!? WHO!?" His face was twisted into something evil, like there was a demon inside him.

    "I Did! B-"

"Exactly! YOU did! You got my brother killed! This IS all your fault!"

"Jordan! Stop it!" Yelled Cathy, she shoved raging male away from her freshman year crush.

"Guys..." Muttered Chance, "We can avenge them. We can kill the beasts! W-"

"You can! I ain't!" Yelled Will, as he held his broken glasses in his hands. "Dude I don't know if you noticed but we nearly DIED." Everything was silent for the longest period of time, Chance straightened up and analyzed the face of each of his friends.

"Then I'll go alone." He said turning around facing the way they came and walked off.

"WHAT!?" Shouted Cathy, "Chance, NO!" She tried to run forward, but Will caught her arm.

"Let him go, sis...let him go..." He muttered, staring after his friend and partner in crime on Grand Theft Auto.

"I never got to tell him, t-" Started Cathy before Will went wild eyed in anger, and cut her off short.

He grabbed her shoulders forcing to face him, so he could see her better through blurry eyes. "OH MY GOSH! DID HE GET YOU PREGNANT! Because if he did... I AM GOING TO SHOOT HIM IN THE HEAD SO MANY TIMES HE-"

"WHAT!? NO!" She turned around and slapped him, "I never got to tell him I love him you idiot!" But it was too late, Chance and Percy were already on their way, with a flamethrower, to kill a Water Demon, without their friends...
