Wings of Peace part 4
Early in the morning of the next day, I had started to pack my things for the meeting with Kaida, when a tribe member walked up to me.
“Can I help you?” I asked, distracted by the contents of my pack.
“The Queen has asked me to accompany me on your journey.” He said. “My name is Seaver, by the way.”
Finally, I looked up at him. “Ah, I see. My name is Femke. I am heading to Darkpine Ridge. If we want get there before dark, we should go now.”
“Right.” He said with a nod.
I nodded back and then took off . After flying and taking breaks for most of the day, we stopped at a clearing at Darkpine Ridge. Kaida was waiting for us and immediately hugged me as soon as I landed.
“Well?” I asked her.
She smiled and then nodded. “They agreed.” Was all that she needed to say.
“Then we will sleep for now and leave at first light.” Seaver stated.
When we arrived back to the Gorge of Dragons, the Queen from each tribe was there.
“Femke, Kaida, I would like to introduce you to Queen Brunhilde of the Forrestwings, Queen Nolene of the Cavewings, and Queen Damita of the Waterwings.” She said.
“Well then,” said Queen Brunhilde. “What are we waiting for? Let us go to the Nowings village!”
And with that, all of the Queens and their guards took off in a flurry of wingbeats.
Once we were at the village, Kaida and the Queens quickly got together, with Kaida translating and the Queens negotiating. Both races eyed each other and tension filled the air. I noticed that the Nowings’ houses were built in the trees instead of on the ground.
But besides the tension, something else did not seem right. I squinted into the darkness, but all I saw were rocks a boulders.
“Wait a minute,” I thought. “When Kaida and I did fly-bys, there were never this many rocks…”
Suddenly, all of the rocks started to glow orange and started bursting into flames! Gasps turned into screams as the boulders turned into dragons ablaze with fire. The scene was that of a nightmare! The smell of burning skin and scales filled my nose and made me gag. I searched frantically for Kaida amidst the chaos, and leaped into the air as soon as she was on my back.
Looking back I noticed that most of the normal dragons had fled, and now the fire dragons were burning the Nowings’ houses. Kaida gasped in horror.
“My kind will never forgive yours now. They will think that this was the whole plan after all.”
My wings felt as heavy as rock as I stared at the burning village with sadness.
“Femke, watch out!” Screamed Kaida.
By the time I had spotted the fire dragon that was speeding towards me, it was too late. He rammed into me and scratched at my wings. Both of us started plummeting to the ground, fighting the whole way.
Just before we hit the treetops, the fire dragon flared his wings. Since he had had a head start, I was still trying to slow down when he rammed my side into the base of a tree.
As I saw the fire dragon land and turn towards me, I glanced to the side to see Kaida running away. Just before he knocked me out, I heard Seaver yell my name.
And that was when it all went dark….

A/N-
Well now you have seen the end of my story... Do you like the cliffhanger? I might consider making a sequel to this story, but only if this chapter gets 10 votes.
~~~~~~~~~~
Yeah I'm just gonna post this even though the last chapter didn't get enough votes.
