Sleep
"And...done!"
"Finally. I was tired of these bandages."
"Same here, but hey, we're all healed!"
Guren smiled and yawned.
"Tired already?"
"We did use a lot of Tenkai Energy in that."
"Heh, true. I still can't believe we pulled that off, I mean, we moved a whole planet! A planet!"
He chuckled tiredly at her.
"Yeah, I still can't believe that that all happened. It felt like a dream."
"I know... Sometimes I think that I'm in a dream..."
He looked up at her and frowned.
"Are you saying that I'm not...real Seranah?"
"What? No! I just...I just can't believe that I'm really here, meeting you and everyone else. I don't want this to be a dream, but if it is, then it's all too real."
Guren stood up and walked over to her, placing a hand on her cheek gently. He rested his forehead on hers.
"If it is a dream, then I want to enjoy it while I can."
"Guren..."
"But if either of us wake up, then I promise that I'll do everything in my power to find you again."
Soft tears rolled down Seranah's cheeks and she gave a broken laugh, gripping onto the hand that was on her cheek.
"I like that promise."
She yawned and looked deep into Guren's smoky indigo eyes, finding nothing but sincerity and warmth in his eyes whenever he looked at her.
"Come on, let's sit down."
"Okay..."
They sat on the couch and decided to chat for a bit, mainly on the events that occurred recently.
~
"Are you crazy?! There's no way we can stop a whole planet! Much less Quarton and protect Earth at the same time!"
A slap sound echoed throughout the chaos that was happening around the group. Guren stood there frozen, a hand print on his right cheek while Seranah stood there, her right arm raised and crossed over to her left side. Her bangs covered her eyes as a tight line straightened her mouth, her whole body rigged. The rest of the Tenkai gang was quiet, unable to say anything, especially after what they just witnessed.
"Are you kidding me...?" Seranah said in a rough voice, now shaking while she clenched her fists and teeth, "You fought a crazed power hungry super villain when you were fourteen years old, saved Earth and Quarton more than once, and survived worse than this, even calling upon a legendary being to assist you when you clearly weren't as powerful as you are now. And you're saying that you can't?"
No one said a word, but Guren stared at her in shock.
"How do you know that?"
"BECAUSE I WATCHED IT ALL HAPPEN!!! BECAUSE YOU ALL ARE TELEVISION CHARACTERS AND AREN'T ACTUALLY REAL!!!"
Seranah started laughing, but it sounded painful, tears flowing down her pale cheeks.
"You're all not real, I don't even belong here... Neither of us do and yet—haha, look at that!—here we are!"
"Seranah calm down!"
"No Ion! Don't you get it?! We can't save them! We can't save their world! I still don't understand how or why we're even in their world!"
Guren slowly walked up to Seranah and grabbed her by the shoulders gently, turning her towards him. He looked her dead in the eye.
"Seranah. What do you mean by that?"
She only shook her head and fell into his embrace, sobs racking her body as she finally told them the truth.
"I'm sorry...I'm so sorry..."
The others could do nothing but watch as the one who always was the strongest cried like she never had before. How does one comfort the one with Tenkai Willpower, the same person who cheers everyone else up? They looked up at Guren and was shocked to see that his eyes were hard, steeled with resolve and determination as he held the brunette closely to him.
"I'm sorry...I didn't mean to bring everyone down in such a dire situation."
Guren shook his head as Seranah moved away from him and held her at arms length.
"No, thank you Seranah. You opened my eyes and helped me get my act together."
He looked at the rest of the group, standing just a bit taller and with an air of command. Guren pointed to Ceylan and Ion.
"Ceylan. You and Ion go and evacuate any remaining citizens in the area as fast as possible. Chooki, Suki, you head to the power generator and turn it off, make sure the workers are in a safe area so you can take the electricity. Toxsa, take Rosaline, Haku, and Kiiro and put up barriers outside the city. Gen, make sure that there's no debris coming in or near the safe zone. Beni, help him keep the debris in place. Sakura, guide everyone to the safest area."
Ceylan looked at his best friend worriedly.
"What about you and Seranah?"
"We'll stop Quarton."
Everyone all yelled out.
"What?!"
Seranah gripped Guren's arms.
"Are you insane?! We can't stop a planet! I-I can't do that Guren, we'll be killed!"
He stared at those in front of him with hard eyes.
"No arguments. Go."
They hesitated before each rushing off to do what they were ordered to.
"Guren!"
He looked down at her with a grin, as if telling her that everything would be alright.
"Trust me Seranah. We'll be fine."
"B-but I can't–"
"You can. You're not alone Seranah, I'll be with you the whole time."
She stared into his eyes, those same violet eyes that she first saw in this same park months ago. The same eyes that had such innocence and gave her the same warm look as it did now. Seranah's eyes widened as realization dawned on her.
"Do you trust me?"
"With my life..."
"We can do this Seranah. Come on, we've got worlds to save."
He grabbed her hand and pulled her with him, heading to the downtown area of the city, Seranah staring at his head as he lead them into the city.
How could she have not seen it sooner?
Guren weaved them through the rubble around them in the heart of Benham City, the determination and steeled resolve in his eyes unwavering.
It was so obvious.
He stopped them when he noticed that Quarton was getting too close and turned to Seranah. She seemed to be looking down.
"Hey," she looked up at him, "What's wrong Seranah?"
How could she have been so slow?
"Nothing," she smiled at him, her eyes showing the same resolve as his, strong will and determination shining in her amethyst orbs, "Let's do this."
She's in love with Guren.
Guren grinned at her and nodded his head, gripping her hand a little tighter before their faces fell into a serious one and turned to the planet in front of them. They could feel their Tenkai Energy flowing through their veins, building up and traveling to their connected hands, glowing in a sphere of orange and yellow, like fire flickering around their hands. Raising their interlocked hands toward the world before them, the built up energy shining brighter until it shot out to the cube planet when Guren and Seranah yelled together.
"Zu'u uth daar lein wah vokrii kolos nii ont bo!"
The beam of light could be seen for miles, the Tenkai gang watched as the light spread and surrounded the planet where they stood, each putting their faith in their leaders. Meanwhile, the two grit their teeth as the force of the beam of pure Tenkai Energy caused them to slid back a bit, a strong current of wind pushing against them and making their hair fly wildly.
Those that were watching stared in awe as the world the light touched slowed down until it hit a complete stop, barely touching the Benham City Tower. Everyone's breath hitched as a wave of light pulsed along the cube worlds' surface and spread on the ground, coming from just a little ways away from the tower. As the pulse of light passed through the onlookers, warmth surrounded them and spheres of light remained, floating in the air and providing a beautiful illumination. They felt a sense of ease, and no amount of fear or anything else negative remained. The Tenkai members watched as Quarton started to go backwards, going at a slightly faster rate into the sky to space. They all smiled and cheered, hugging each other and celebrating at their leaders success. Ceylan and Ion grinned at each other after he spun her around in his arms, they both turned back to where their best friends were and felt their smiles drop.
Guren and Seranah wobbled a bit before they fell to the ground, unconscious.
"GUREN/SERANAH!!!"
Ceylan picked Ion up and activated his given power, running to their leaders in a mad dash. Their muffled voices the last thing the two on the ground heard before darkness swallowed them whole.
~
Guren and Seranah sat on the couch, their heads resting against each other while their hands were intertwined together, both in a peaceful slumber. Memories of weeks ago still fresh in their minds, but brought the two closer together. But neither of them knew that their period of happiness and peace would be short lived.
Eh? Eeeh? Not bad huh? Let me know if you want to know how all this unfolded. If this gets at least 30 votes then I'll make the story this belongs to.
