Your delivery has arrived (Tumblr inspired)
"And bam!" I narrated as I clicked the arrow onto the 'buy' button to confirm my purchase. "Now I just have to wait", I closed my eyes and leaned back against the leather couch, my laptop beside me, and my legs propped on the oak coffee table. Sleep then took over my powerless form.
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
My eyes fluttered open as a stream of morning daylight shone on my eyelids. I rubbed my eyes as I lifted my stiff legs off the table. My vision was extremely blurry so I shut my eyes and shook my head to clear them. The stars summoned by the haze lifted; the annoying white cells stayed though. It's presence irritated me but it eventually vanished too. A yawn escaped my mouth and I instinctively covered it, while arching my back to stretch my spine out. I started some quick arm and leg stretches to get them working. Suddenly I heard a dying whale noise, quickly I checked my surrounding but then realized it was my stomach. I felt embarrassed even though no one heard it. I laughed it off, as I entered my kitchen that was connected to the room I was currently in, the living room.
"Here's a joke! What room is useless for ghosts?" I mentally asked myself "The living room!"
'Ha! Good one me!"
I chuckled at myself as I unconsciously trace my fingers against the cool granite countertop. My brown orbs scanning the cabinets. My eyes stopped a familiar dark oak drawer, a glass frame showing the contents inside. My fingers wrapped around the small knob and pulled it open to reveal an organized row of glass cup. I plucked one out, in it's the glass's wake was a clanking noise, made from bumping into one another. Then I sidestepped so that I was face to face with my best companion. A friend, a family, a lover. The stainless steel refrigerator.
My mouth watered at the sight and knowledge that there was food in there, but my throat groaned in protest, so I had to receive the water first. I place the cup and the area in which the water is disposed. I added force to the plastic area, it responded by a steady drizzle of clear water into my cup. The water raced to the top in 16 seconds max, I finished all the H2O in a few quick, yet large, gulps. I wiped my mouth with the back of my right hand as I used my left hand to place the cup onto the spotless counter. Today is my lazy day, no cleaning, no working out, no work, just netflix and food.
Next, I searched through the refrigerator, checking out different snacks and inspecting its due date, don't want to make the same mistake of drinking expired milk again or even eating blue cheese. I shivered at the reminder of the acidic chunky liquid that ended up being vomited all over my beautiful wooden floor. I complied to my hungry abdomen with a packaged pepperoni and cheese stick, a bowl of washed ocado grapes, and two slices of whole wheat bread.
I headed back to the living room with all of my snacks, my mouth already chomping on the dry, soft, fluffy bread. Another set of water were in my hand. I set down all morsel then walked to the evil light of the outside. I tugged a string, the wooden blinds tugged up before it decreased downward, ending with a clump as it hit the windowsill. I continued to erase all light streaming into the room until there was only one light left, the light coming from the kitchen. "All preparations have been completed" I smiled in satisfaction.
I swooped up a stray dark blue blanket with a dolphin design on it, wrapped it around my body and threw myself onto the corner of the leather couch; the armrest used as a strong soft pillow that probably would cramp my neck if I accidently slept in that position. I clutched the universal remote set in front of me. I snuggled into the layer of warmth as I flipped through the Netflix menu being shown through a large flat screen television approximately 10 feet away from my body.
The movie I chose was a classic disney movie, The little mermaid. The opening was starting to play until I heard knocks, the sound vibrated around the room. I groaned in irritation because I had to free myself from my comfortable position. I struggled to free myself as I heard jingles. I knew exactly what the jingles indicate, and that means someone has entered my house. I instantly shot up and my mind raced with questions, "Didn't I lock the door last night? Who's there? HOW DID SOMEONE GET INTO MY HOUSE, I SWEAR THE DOOR WAS LOCKED LAST- Oh wait.. " My thoughts trailed off when I heard some constant stomps and scuttles.
Stomp, stomp. The scuttles sounded like a horde of rats running away from a predator.
Stomp, stomp, hissss.
The clutched onto the blanket in fear, my knuckles turned white as the creepy sounds continued to play. The covers were brought over my head for protection, a simple tactic I used as a kid to prevent myself from being killed by a demon or zombie. I slowly peeked out of the covers just a bit to see if i could spot the intruder. All I could make out was something brown, it was shaped into a box and human like hands and feet materialized at the four corners. Something black was etched on it but due to my near-sighted vision, I couldn't make out a single detail. The weird creature scurried around like a spider, it entered into rooms before it exit and enter another. It kept going through every room, searching for me.
It then spotted me. Abruptly, it slowly turned towards me, the front I assumed, has a curved arrow engraved on it's cardboard body, looking like no face with only a mouth. I squinted my eyes to get a better look of the black and peach tubes that are used for the monster's movement. Unfortunately, they were human arm and leg parts in the flesh and bones. My eyelids returned to their usual comfortable lazy gaze, but it was still focused and on guard just in case any sudden movement popped out. It surprised me by approaching me with a full out sprint, instinctively I pulled the covers over my head. It's movement thumped loudly against the wooden floor. It felt like an eternity as I waited for the monster to attack. But it didn't. Realization hit me like a bullet when I noticed that there was only an eerie silence in the noise's place, not a single sound was made. I lowered the covers, there it was in front of me. It's next four words sent a shiver down my spine as sat frozen in my spot. "Your Delivery Has Arrived" The spawned box from hell exclaimed in a dark, demonic voice.
That's when I knew: I'm never ordering from Amazon ever again.

"And period!" I announced to myself as I pressed the last key to end the last sentence; the period.
I swing the leather office chair I was seated on, I grinned giddily as my surroundings raced through my vision. For a jiffy, I felt a creepy presence in the room, a shiver ran through my body like electricity. I shrugged it off. "It probably was just my imagination" I mentally reassured myself, but I couldn't exactly believe it. I took a cautious glance to my surroundings to support my overflowing mind that was already thinking about all the possibilities that could be lurking around the corner. The perception confirmed disagreed to the inference, the fear disappeared as quickly as it came.
"I finished my short story! Surprisingly it's short! An actual short story!" I threw a mini party in my mind at the accomplishment I was never able to accomplish all those years ago. I smiled at the computer, sure that whatever creep that might be spying on me through the webcam peed their pants looking at my psychotic grin. I saved the documentary and logged off of my gmail, I closed down the tab and swirled in the chair couple more times having a quick view of the darkened blue sky and the clouded houses (blurred by my near-sighted dark brown orbs).
"Night time already?" I asked to no one in particular. A large six second yawn escaped my lips. I stopped the chair's rotation making it purposefully face the entrance of the room. The entrance was a wooden framed door with a indirect, translucent, leaf-like design carved on the glass. I saw an irregular outline on the other side of the gateway. It was alien but it also looked a bit familiar. I was able to make out a brown cube with four black cubes coming out of the side corners. In the blink of an eye, it vanished.
I shook my head in disappointment, "Thanks for the nightmares, mind" I murmured, use to the random outburst of creepy thoughts that constantly kept flashing through my mind.
"Well, I guess I did deserve it for making this tumblr based story" My mind responded.
"True" I agreed.
