The King of the Blue-Eyes

Shout out to JinzoKing222 for his story "Blue Eyes White Dragon Izuku",  Gl1tch87 for they're multiple YuGiOh x Male Reader stories. Mostly "Return of the White Dragon". And kahuma4uj and their story "Return of the Blue-Eyes"

Another inspiration was a story called "My Duel Academia" by an author that was deleted some time ago. Anyway! Enjoy! Also like last time the card names will be bold so if I don't show a picture you can just look up the card. But for some I will be using the anime effects for.

Floods of red, yellow and blue filled the massive auditorium of Duel Academy. Students gathered there looked upon the arena in confusion. The reason? The academy's number one student, Zane Truesdale aka "The Kaiser", stood alone with a calm expression. He looked down at his duel disk staring intently at his deck.

'If my opponent is really who I think it is then this is the perfect opportunity to test out my new cards.' He thought to himself while thinking over how this duel could turn out.

Up in the stand, multiple students were talking amongst themselves. Each having a theory as to what could be so important to gather the entire student body here. Among those were none other than The Kaiser's young brother, Syrus, accompanied by his best (sort kinda only) friend, Jaden Yuki.

"Hey, Sy? Do you have any idea what's going on?"

"I dunno, Jay. Last I knew we were supposed to have an exam today and now we're here waiting for Zane to duel someone."

"Well, I mean he's your bro so I thought he'd tell you."

"Well he did message me last night saying that today would be a surprise. Didn't say anything else though."

"Rumors have been spreading like the stink off a wet Kuriboh's fur all day." A voice called out not far from the duo. Walking over to them was one of their friends Bastion Misawa.

"What was with that analogy?" Jaden questioned but was ignored as the Ra Yellow student sat beside two Slifer Reds.

"Some say that this was a challenge from a rival academy. Others say that the pride of the school was trashed and this is a grudge match. Regardless, everyone here can feel the weight coming off this duel." Bastion explained as he looked at the arena. "At least should the challenger show up."

"Worry not, students. The challenger has just arrived on the island." Said Prof. Banner, head of the Red Dorm, as he walked over to the students with his cat, Pharaoh, in his arms. "There were some complications at sea so the flight got delayed. The rest of the teachers and I are spreading the news."

"Oh, sweet!" Jaden said enthusiastically. "But who is Zane gonna be dueling anyway?"

"I can't really say but I can tell you that this young man has made a splash in the world of Duel Monsters." He smiled calmly as he continued to pet his cat. "Most surprising is that he's the same age as you all."

"Not to mention he was the winner of a tournament that was held by Kaiba Corp a little over two years ago." Another voice came. They looked over and saw Alexis Rhodes joining them. "Not to mention they caused a bit of a commotion back at the entrance exams."

"Wait really? What happened? Did they arrive later than I did?" Jaden asked, slightly shocked.

"No, they were actually one of the first to make it but they had to be escorted out because of some injuries."

"Are we going to be dealing with another delinquent? I'd rather not have to deal with anymore Bakugos that I have to." Bastion groaned to himself.

"WHICH ONE OF YOU EXTRAS ARE TALKING ABOUT ME?!?!?!" An explosive blonde yelled out from a crowd of Ra Yellow students.

"See."

"I don't know the specifics but from what I heard the guy was hit by a jerk on a motorcycle and broke out of the hospital before they could treat his injuries because he was afraid of missing the exams."

"What the fuck?" Was the major thought among the students who heard her.

"Then again I'm not too sure. I only saw the guy getting loaded into an ambulance." She shrugs before something catches her eye. "And it seems we won't have to wait any longer."

Their attention was drawn towards the entrance of the arena across from Zane. The echoing sounds of footsteps reaching their ears as they saw an individual running into the ring. The person was a green haired young teen boy who was out of breath and was currently trying to catch it.

"This school....is way too damn big!" He yelled out as he straightened up. "Okay, sorry I'm late. I hope everyone wasn't waiting too long." He smiled nervously with a chuckle.

Some of the students stared blankly at the teen who had just arrived. Some found this turn of events to be completely underwhelming. Others were straight up disappointed in what was happening. Only a few started to get excited. Jaden was one of those few who was now getting pumped.

"Oh, heck yeah! If I knew it was him I'd have packed some popcorn."

"Wait, you actually recognize him from somewhere?" Syrus questioned confusedly.

"How could I not? I was there when he won that tournament and beat Seto Kaiba!"

"He defeated Seto Kaiba?!" Bastion's eyes widened in realization. "Which means he's the last duelist he faced before retirement and won the grand prize beyond imagination. Izuku Midoriya."

"Let's Duel!" Izuku and Zane said in unison.

Izuku/Zane:
LP:4000
Hand: 5

"You can have the first move." Zane said calmly.

"Thanks. My draw!" Izuku drew a card from his deck and looked over his hand. "I set three cards face down and summon Maiden with Eyes of Blue in attack mode!"

"I end my turn." Izuku says with a pleased smile.

Up in the stands multiple students stood there in confusion. With how much hype was being spoken about the potential new student they had expected a better power play. Some even laughed loudly at such an 'amateur' mistake. But a few actually had brains to have an idea what was going on.

"Why would he put such an obvious trap? Is he trying to psyche Zane out?"

"I don't know Syrus but I know things are about to get interesting." Jaden smirked as he watched the players.

"I draw." Zane drew his card, looking over his hand. 'Power Bond on my first draw, i better save this for later.' "Since I control no monsters I can special summon Cyber Dragon from my hand and since I did I can activate Cyber Dragon Vier and special summon it in defense mode."

"And with its effects each Cyber Dragon I control gains an additional 500 ATK. And I'll also use Stop Defense to switch Vier into attack mode."

CD: ATK: 2100→2600

Vier: ATK: 1100→1600

"Now I normal summon Proto Cyber Dragon in attack mode."

Proto: ATK: 1100→1600

"Next I'll play Pot of Greed which allows me to draw two cards from my deck." He looked at his new additions and cracked a small smirk. "I'll set two cards face down. Now battle! Cyber Dragon Core attacks your Maiden with Eyes of Blue."

"I activate her effect! Once per turn when she's the target for an attack I change her battle position and special from my hand, deck, or graveyard Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

"What?! There is now way he has that legendary card." Yelled a teen dressed completely in black.

"Oh, hey Chazz! When did you get here?"

"I've been here slacker!" Chazz yelled angrily, yet Jaden simply laughed off with a smirk.

"Either way, you're still wrong." The red clad brunette said much to the confusion of his friends.

"This legendary dragon is a powerful engine of destruction. Virtually invincible, very few have faced this awesome creature and lived to tell the tale." Izuku narrates as he draws a card from his deck. "Spread your wings and roar! Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

"I can't believe it." Alexis gasped in awe. Bearing witness to a sight many would call ludicrous.

"So it was true. They weren't just rumors." Bastion muttered, having seen fiction become fact before his eyes.

"Told you guys!" Jaden laughed knowingly. "I told you guys I was there at the end of the tournament. I watched Izuku Midoriya defeat Seto Kaiba and win."

"But that doesn't explain how he has that card." Syrus raised an eyebrow in confusion.

"That tournament that Kaiba held was much more than a competition of strength and wits." Banner stated as Pharaoh meowed boredly. "It was his send off. His announcement of retirement. And more importantly, his choosing of a successor."

"Which means..." Syrus spoke in amazement.

"...That the grand prize...." Alexis continued with a smile.

"WAS KAIBA'S DECK!?!?" Chazz and an equally confused and angry student from a few seats away yelled out.

"Now I activate my trap card Urgent Tuning!" The card flipped face up, leading to even more confusion.

"With this card during the battle phase I can conduct a synchro summon. I tune my level one Maiden with Eyes of Blue and level eight Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

The maiden glowed brightly before dissolving into the light. A single green ring floated into the air as the dragon flew into it with a mighty roar. Eight stars shone as the outside of the dragon disappeared. A light engulfed the arena, nearly blinding the ones in attendance.

"Eyes as blue as the azure sky, a beast who reigns over all that flies. Bring forth your might and roar! Synchro Summon, level 9! Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon!"

"Synchro summon?"

"What the heck is that?!"

"Cheater!"

"Who the hell do you think you are using illegal cards?!"

"Get out of here!"

"You don't deserve those cards!"

Chaos erupted in the stands as the students cried out blasphemy. They shouted in anger and jealousy. They didn't understand what was going on. They hated this newcomer for no reason except their own injured pride. Some even started to throw whatever trash they had at the green haired teen. It would have gotten even more out of hand had it not been for a certain doctor with a PHD in dueling.

"That's enough!" Dr. Vellian Crowler yelled through his microphone, leaving many of those in attendance in shock. "I don't want to hear any more accusations about this boy! Do you really think someone could possibly use fake or illegal cards with this system? A system designed and programmed by Seto Kaiba himself!"

They students were left in stunned silence, some were gritting their teeth at their teacher's words. But in the end they knew it was all true and it made them even angrier.

"This duel was meant for two reasons. One to give this young man a proper chance to earn his enrollment in the academy. He didn't have to do this because he was already accepted through recommendations. By who? None other than Seto Kaiba and Maximillion Peagusus!"

Even more silence followed after this statement. They grew even more confused at this. What kind of connections did this nobody have?

"And the second reason was to showcase this new type of extra deck summoning. A type of card that was created by none other than this young man here! The creator of Duel Monsters himself was in awe of this and made an entire series of first generation Synchro Monsters. Cards that were meant to be passed out to the student body after this duel." The doctor took a deep long breath after finishing his rant. "But I supposed those plans have changed. Worry not, you will still be able to purchase them at the card shop. After all, the students who caused this riot write a twenty page essay on Duel Monsters history and game mechanics."

"Alright, what an...inspiring message. Thank you Dr. Crowler." The chancellor of the academy, Chancellor Sheppard, had sighed. "With that out of the way please continue with the duel."

"Well I wish I could say I expected a different reaction but that would be a lie." Izuku chuckled nervously as he refocused his attention."Okay, I just summoned my dragon so what are you gonna do now?"

"Nothing for now. But I will set this additional card face down." Zane said plainly as he scanned his opponent. 'Nothing much I can do at the moment. Were it any other duelist I would use Power Bond to finish him off but I don't know what his dragon is capable of. Not to mention his two face downs could be trouble.'

Izuku:
LP: 4000
Hand:2

Zane:
LP: 4000
Hand: 1

"Alright then it's my move! Draw!" He smiled, his dragon's eyes glowing. "Azure-Eyes' effect activates during my standby phase. I can special summon a normal monster from my graveyard. Return to battle Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

'This could be trouble.' Zane thought as he looked to his field. "I activate my trap card! Threatening Roar! Now you won't be able to declare an attack this turn."

"Clever. I activate Pot of Greed, and draw two cards from my deck." He drew his two cards and smiled. "I play the spell card Fusion Deployment! Now I can reveal a fusion monster from my extra deck and special summon one of the monsters listed as a material from my hand or deck. And it should come as a surprise to noone my choice is the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon so bright out a round of applause for the second Blue-Eyes White Dragon."

'This means he just needs two more cards to complete it.'

"Now I activate Polymerization and fuse the two Blue-Eyes on my field with the one in my hand to summon forth their most powerful form. Three dragons together as one. Let all its enemies tremble beneath its feet and armies fear its wrath. Fusion Summon level 12! Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!"

The massive dragon let out a roar that could shatter their eardrums. It stood high above them with its fangs on full display, ready to tear Zane's machines to shreds. The Kaiser stood his ground, staring deeply into the eyes of the dragon that even the King of Games, Yugi Moto, had trouble defeating. He clenched his fist and hardened his glare.

'So this is it.' He thought to himself. 'This is what it feels to stand before the maw of the beast. Can't say that I'm a fan.' He glanced at the field before him. They both had two set cards left and two cards left in their hands 'I have more monsters but they pale in comparison to the ultimate dragon. If it wasn't for my trap card I might have bitten the dust this turn.'

"And since I can't attack I'll just set these two cards face down and end my turn." Izuku said as he placed the card on the field.

Izuku:
LP: 4000
Hand: 0

"My turn. I draw!" Zane drew his card and steeled his nerves. 'It's time to end this. But first I gotta get him to waste some of those face downs.' "I activate Harpie's Feather Duster with this all your spells and traps are destroyed!"

"Not so fast! I activate Solemn Judgment! By paying half my life points I can negate your spell and destroy it!"

Izuku: LP: 4000→2000

"A good move but not good enough for this. I activate Counter Counter and counter your counter trap."

"I see your trap card and raise one of mine. Go Counter Counter to counter your counter!"

"That's either skill or luck." Zane stated with a small smile that caused the teen to chuckle. "Both Proto and Vier have an ability that treats them as "Cyber Dragon" while on the field. So now I'll activate Power Bond to fuse my three Cyber Dragon into Cyber End Dragon!"

C.E.D.: ATK: 4000→8000

"Now attack Azure-Eyes Silver Dragon! Super Strident Blaze!" Zane's monster roared as powerful lasers were shot at the dragon.

"Not so fast!" Izuku yells out. "You've triggered my trap card Shift! So now I can change your attack target to Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" The lasers shifted focus and aimed for the three headed behemoth. "Which triggers my last face down, Battle Fusion!"

"With this my dragon gains attack points equal to Cyber End Dragon!"

B.E.U.D: ATK: 4500→12500

"Now my dragon! Attack with Neutron Blast!"

The two blasts collided, blinding the students with its brilliance. Cracks started to appear on Cyber End Dragon's mechanical shell sending sparks everywhere. The resistance ceased as before it was shattered, engulfing the arena in holographic smoke. As it cleared the students could see what had happened.

Zane: LP: 4000→0

Winner: Izuku Midoriya

Zane Truesdale had been defeated.

Noone uttered a word, the shock stunning them all to silence. It was hard to understand. How could someone like The Kaiser lose to someone they had just heard of. Some of them wanted to scream and shout how unfair it was. Others knew better and kept their mouths shut. But those thoughts were cut short when they heard the sound of clapping.

"Well fought, Izuku Midoriya. I had expected our match to be entertaining but that was the best duel I've had in a long time. I can tell that this school is going to be in good hands." Zane Truesdale applauded with a smile.

One by one students began joining in. Some even gave a standing ovation for the young man. Zane walked over to the victor and offered him a handshake. One that Midoriya was keen on reciprocating.

"Izuku Midoriya." Chancellor Sheppard spoke as he walked into the ring. Dr. Crowler not far behind carrying a folded up jacket. "It is a great pride and honor for me to welcome you to the academy. The Obelisk Blue dorm is lucky to have you." He smiled, shocking the young teen.

"W-wait there has got to be a mistake." he stuttered out nervously. "I asked to be placed in Slifer Red."

"Well, yes. However, Mr. Kaiba has overruled your request and has ordered we place you in Obelisk Blue." The chancellor smiled awkwardly.

"Just keep working hard to prove that you've earned this." Crowler said as he placed the jacket over his shoulders. "Now come! You have to unpack. And I'm sure your adoring new fans are going to want to have a few words with you."

Izuku couldn't help but smile as he heard a familiar roar. Memories filled with nostalgia flooding his brain as he looked down at his deck. If one were to have looked at just the right time, they could swear that they could see the cards glow. Just like they did that day.

The audience watched with bated breath as they looked upon the field of the Kaiba Dome duel arena. The young up and coming duelist Izuku Midoriya against the seasoned veteran Seto Kaiba. A match many would call unfair, but Izuku would prefer to call it exhilarating.

Kaiba's field had only two monsters. The Lord of Dragons and the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon. He had no cards in his hand yet still held the LP advantage with 2000.

Izuku wasn't fairing too well despite his best efforts. With only a single monster, the Alexandrite Dragon and two face downs. He only had two cards left in his hand and with a mere 1000 LP left there wasn't much hope he could win. Not without a miracle.

"Is that the best you can do?" Kaiba questioned with his arms crossed. "You were only saved because of your Negate Attack trap card. So what's your next move?"

Izuku couldn't mutter a word. He was staring the legendary beast in the face and he could hep but tremble. Was this all he could do? Was everything he was told true? Was he really just a talentless hack with no skill? Maybe he should give up. He got further than he'd ever think he'd do. He raised his hand about to put it over his duel disk in surrender.

But for a second he paused. No. He wasn't ready to give up just yet. He grit his teeth and readied to draw. Forming a large smile as he drew his card.

"Not even close!" He yelled out confidently, making the CEO smile. "I activate Card of Demise! Now I ca draw until I have five cards in my hand!" He drew his three new cards and smiled. "Next I'll play Pot of Greed to draw two more cards! Along with my face down Reckless Greed to draw to more at the cost of my next two draw phases."

"Better make this turn count then kid!"

"I will!" He smiled brightly as he looked over his hand. "First I play Soul Exchange! Now can use one of your monsters for a tribute summon this turn."

"Don't you remember? My Lord of Dragons prevent's you from targeting my dragon."

"I didn't forget. Which is why I need to get rid of him!" Izuku smirked as Kaiba gained surprised yet pleased expression. "Now I'll sacrifice Lord of Dragons and bring out Summoned Skull!"

"Now I'll use Polymerization and fuse it with my King of the Swamp as a substitute for Red-Eyes Black Dragon!" The mud monster appeared next to the fiend, its body shifting into the shape of a dragon. "And together they become the Black Skull Dragon!"

"Not bad. Unfortunately it seems it was all in vain. Your dragon is still no match for mine."

"Yeah. For now at least." He smirked as he pressed a button on his duel disk. "I activate the trap card Rising Energy! By discarding one card I can target one monster on the field and give it a boost of 1500 attack points!"

Black Skull Dragon: ATK: 3200--> 4700

'So that's why he needed to get rid of Lord of Dragons. He couldn't target a dragon with him on the field.' He smirked as he looked over at the kid. 'Not bad. Not bad at all.'

"Its over Mr. Kaiba! Black Skull Dragon destroy the Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon!" Hundreds of fire balls flew through the air. Hitting the colossal beast and shattering it.

Kaiba: LP: 2000-->1800

"Now to finish you off! Go Alexandrite Dragon!"

Kaiba: LP: 1800-->0

Winner: Izuku Midoriya

Cheers erupted from the crowd as the holograms disappeared. Izuku let out a heavy sigh as he resisted the urge to fall to the ground. Letting out a weak chuckle as he smiled. Feeling proud of himself. Kaiba took a look down at his duel disk with a knowing smile.

"Congratulations." Kaiba walked over to the kid with a smile. Holding out his hand for him to shake.

"Thank you Sir." Izuku awkwardly accepted before his face morphed into confusion as he felt him put something into his hands. His shock growing even more as he took in the sight of an entire Duel Monsters deck in his hand. And on the very top was none other the the Blue-Eyes White Dragon.

"People of Domino City and the world!" Kaiba didn't give the teen a chance to question him before he addressed the audience. "I would like that thank you all for coming here today to witness my very last duel!"

That sentence silenced everyone it attendance. The only ones who weren't surprised were the Kaiba brothers, Seto and Mokuba. He grabbed hold of Izuku's arm and raised it. Showing off for the world to see his former deck now in the hands of its new owner.

"Since the retirement of my friend and rival, Yugi Moto, the game I put my life into has lost its shine. And after careful consideration I have decided to retire from dueling altogether." His words shocked everyone further, their curiosity growing further. "That's what this tournament was all about! To find the very best duelist out there to give me one final duel! And to find the perfect successor to continue the legacy of the Blue-Eyes White Dragon!"

The lights shut off, engulfing the arena in darkness. Spotlights aimed at Izuku sending his anxiety through the roof and over the moon. Everyone began loudly questioning this decision. Some even mocking him for dumb luck or insulting Kaiba for giving something so valuable. But Izuku couldn't hear them. No, the voices were all drowned out.

Because Izuku could hear was the roar of a might dragon.

https://youtu.be/gC38M9U03dk

"And this is my chosen successor! The one who shall wield the power of the most legendary of dragon! Izuku Midoriya! This is your prize to hold! My deck is now yours to command."

"Huh?"

"And never forget. This deck is a symbol of my pride. And by extension you are my pride!" Kaiba placed a hand on his shoulder and smiled proudly at the teen. "Now it's your turn to carve your way through the Duel Monsters world. Take pride in this day and never forget. You have the heart of a dragon."

And this was how it all began. The story of how one simply plain looking young man followed his dreams. His dream of becoming the next.....KING OF GAMES!!!

And that's the sample! How did you guys like my addition of Synchro Summoning? My reasoning behind it is that most of the modern Blue-Eyes support is synchro related. That and because 5D's is one of my favorites and I wanted to. Its nothing new I read a reader story where the MC had access to XYZ summoning in GX.

When writing this I had planned on having Zane synchro summon as well but I couldn't really figure out a good way to place it. It was gonna be a Scrap monster just to keep up with the machine theme but like i said I couldn't figure it out.

As far as ships go its still up in the air but I have some ideas. Mainly for Camula and Tania doing a gag where they say "I wanna take on the cute green haired one" that nearly causes Izuku to fain't.

Anyway I hope you all enjoyed.
