Before things start I just want to make a few things clear. I will be using the anime effects for a few cards mentioned and the pictures I use will mostly be for the cards I made. Most of which will be in the previous 2 parts labeled "Nightmare".  The names for the cards will be in bold so if you want to know there affects for sure just google them.

Akiza couldn't believe her eyes, she dared not try to. In fear that she'd lose the treasured memories of the one person she'd held onto through the years. Now standing before her, in the ruins of the trashed island of Satellite, stood a young man about her age. Dressed in a dark cloak with green markings on it. His bright green irises pierced through his black sclera that matched his forest green hair. And the criminal markings on his face that resembled jagged flowing tears brought her mind to a stop.

She knew who this was, deep down in her heart she knew exactly who was standing before her. Someone she lost long ago and had prayed for the day she'd see him again. But not like this. Her eyes were drawn towards his right arm where she saw her final piece for proof. A glowing mark that resembles a pair of hands reaching down to his scarred and crooked hands.

"Well, well, well...." His voice was etched in madness and venom that it made her brain rattle. "Don't you know how to greet old friends, Rosie?"

"I-Izuku....." She quietly said, forcing any developing tears back as she saw a wall of flames erupt around them. A familiar feeling in her own right arm signaling her on what was happening right now.

"Confused, ain't ya?" He smiled widely as he let out a wild fit of laughter. "Don't worry, I was too! One moment I getting my brains blown out by Sector Security and the next thing I knew I was burning hundreds of officers to ashes!"

He continued to laugh at such a horrific thing as if it was a simple joke. She grit her teeth in anger as she looked up the thing that dared look like him. Her heart was pounding, her mind racing and her rage boiling over the edge. No, rage was too simple a feeling to describe what she was feeling. She was furious.

"Shut up!" She yelled, her powers sending off a wave that caused the ground to shake. His laughter died as he refocused his attention on her, holding that same sickening smile. "You can't be him! Liar! Fake! The Izuku Midoriya I knew was the kindest person in the entire world!"

"I was kind. I was a good person. That is until I realized that it was all dog shit!" He let out an angry cry as his eyes blazed to life. "I would've thought you learned that by now. I guess that damned cult brainwashed you more than I thought."

"W-what happened to you?" She stuttered out as she lost the ability to fight off her tears. "What happened to my best friend?"

"He died!" Izuku growled as his duel disk activated. "If you still don't believe me then how about this!"

Akiza's duel disk sprang to life as she drew her hand, her eyes refusing to dry as she watched him draw. For what seemed like years she stared at him, seeing a visage of a kind hearted young boy. Only to watch it dissolve into the monster of madness before her.

Akiza:

Izuku:

"My move! I draw!" He looked at his cards as he developed a cruel grin. "To start things off I'll activate these three spells, Nightmare Shrine, Nightmare Soul Tower, and the field spell Vast Nightmare!"

'Those cards...' She hardened her gaze as she watched the field around her change.

From a barren wasteland of rubble and ashes grew dead trees and vines that decorated the ground. A thick ominous mist filled the air. Behind him a stone altar with unlit torches appeared along with a massive obelisk towering above them.

"Look familiar don't they?" He continued to smile. "When I activate Nightmare Shrine I can add one Nightmare card from my deck to my hand and I choose Nightmare Stallion. Now, since I control no monsters, that means I can special summon it from my hand!" His monster appeared on the field as a torch on the shrine became lit. "And thanks to my field spell during my turn all my monsters gain 500 attack and defense points times their level during my turn."

N. Stallion: ATK/DEF: 0 → 2500

"And since I did so I can activate his ability which lets me add a Nightmare card from my deck to my hand. And I think I'll choose my Nightmare Serpent."

"And now Vast Nightmare activates. Since I summoned a fiend monster I can summon another from my hand or deck that's of an equal or lower level. And I think I'll special summon my Nightmare Hound."

N. Hound: ATK/DEF: 0→1500

"And now I normal summon my Nightmare Serpent. Which allows me to summon another level 4 or below Nightmare tuner monster from my deck. And I chose Nightmare Wing."

N. Serpent: ATK/DEF: 0 →2000

N, Wing: ATK/DEF: 0→1000

"And with that I can activate the effect of Nightmare Shrine. Every time a Nightmare monster is summoned it gains a counter. Once per turn I can use counters to either increase or decrease the level of one of my monsters. So I'll spend two counters to make Nightmare Serpent from level four to level two!'

N. Shrine:Counters: 4→2

N. Serpent: Level 4→2

"And now I'll tune my level two Nightmare Wing with level two Nightmare Serpent to synchro summon level 4 Nightmare Claw Fiend!"

N. Claw Fiend: Level 4

"And thanks to Wing's ability, when it's used for a synchro summon I can shuffle it into my deck and draw a card." He said as he shuffled his deck and drew a card. "That's not all! I'll use my level three Nightmare Hound with level five Nightmare Stallion to summon level 8 Nightmare Skull Knight!"

N. Skull Knight: Level 8

ATK/DEF: 0→4000

N. Shrine: 2→4

"And now I activate Claw Fiend's ability! I can equip him to another monster on my field and then that monster's level is increased by four! Along with its attack and defense points." He explained as his monster attached itself to NSK arm and merged with its sword.

NSK: Level: 8→12

ATK/DEF: 4000→6000

"Plus with Nightmare Soul Tower my monster gains an additional 200 attack points for every Fiend-type monster I control and are in my graveyard."

NSK: ATK: 6000→6600

"Now I set one card face down and end my turn. Which luck for you means my Knight's point gets lowered."

NSK: ATK: 6800→600

Izuku:

LP: 4000

Hand: 3

"Your move, Rosie." He snarled with a sneer filled with disgust and anguish. So much so it made her want to cry.

"Izuku..." She whispered in a solemn tone to herself. Her mind flashing back to the past before any of this had happened.

A vision of a child crossed her mind. One not unlike the young man that stood before her, yet so different that one could never guess they were the same person. A boy that smiled brighter than the sun with eyes glistening with hope and kindness.

"Izu?" A young Akiza looked over to her green haired friend as he looked through his cards. She wouldn't lie, sometimes she wondered how he never got scared of such scary looking cards

"What is it, Rosie?" He looked back at her with raised eyebrows.

"I was wondering, why do you have so many of those cards?" She asked, getting a confused look from the boy, "I always see you picking them out of the trash. It's not like your parents can't afford to get you new ones."

"It's because I feel bad for them." He said looking over his deck with a small smile. "I really hate when people judge someone or something by looks. And when I see these cards in the trash I can't help but feel sorry for them. They need a home too."

"But a lot of them look pretty scary though? And not that strong either."

"They may not seem like it but they are really good if you know how to use them," Izuku smiled down at his cards. Akiza didn't know then but at that time she could've sworn she'd seen the cards glow.

"You're so weird, Izu." She giggled lightly as the boy blushed and looked away in embarrassment.

"No I'm not."

"You finished staring off into space?" The grown Izuku Midoriya grumbled in annoyance. Snapping her out of her trance. "If you want to give up, fine by me. Less trouble than having to beat your pretty little face in."

"I draw!" Akiza stated, trying her best to focus on the task at hand. "First I play the spell card Double Summon. Like the name suggests I can conduct two normal summons this turn. And I chose to summon Twilight Rose Knight and Hedge Guard."

"And that's not all, I also play the spell card Seed of Deception, With it I can special summon a level two or below Plant-type monster. And I chose Rose Lover."

"But none of them will be sticking around for long because I'll be using them to Synchro summon a monster you should be all too familiar with." She couldn't help but smile when the memory rose up in her mind. "I tune my Twilight Rose Knight with Rose Lover and Hedge Guard to synchro summon level 7.....

"Rosie!" izuku dashed at his childhood friend. Leaving many onlookers to stare at the two but they didn't care. "I got something for you!"

"W-wha?!" Akiza bushed as she looked upon her green haired friend who was holding a small gift wrapped box in his hand. "B-but it's not my birthday or anything special."

"So? Why would I need a reason to give you a gift?" He smiled widely as it sent a wave of warmth washing over her as she felt her face heat up. "Go on! Open it!"

She took a deep breath before taking the box from his hand. Slowly and carefully peeling back at the wrapping as thoughts raced across her mind. What could he have gotten her that made him so excited? Why would he give her something out of the blue like this? Was this a prank? Did he finally realize he shouldn't be friends with a freak like her?

All those doubts were smashed to dust when she finally opened the small box. It was a duel-monsters card unlike any she has seen before. Not once has she even heard a whisper about such a beast and yet when she looked at it she felt it had belonged to her for years. The monster that would someday become her signature monster.

"I saw it in a special shop and boy was it expensive." He chuckled awkwardly as he scratched his cheek. "I was saving up for months to get it for your birthday but I got so excited I gave it to you early. I-I mean if you don't like it I could always see if I can trade it back for something else."

"She's beautiful, Izu." Akiza smiled happily before she wrapped her arms around him in a hug. An action that made his face become red.

No, It would be more accurate to say his face changed into a shade of rose.

"Black Rose Dragon! And once she's summoned she destroys every card on the field. So say goodbye to all your nightmares!"

Her dragon let out a roar as the field was engulfed in blustering winds that shattered everything in sight. Even the Black Rose Dragon itself was not saved from devastation. Izuku growled angrily as he watched his monster fade into ashes. A faint visage of flames entered his mind before they quickly departed.

"I activate another effect of NIghtmare Shrine." A small swirl of flames gathered around the field. "When it's destroyed I can special summon a Nightmare monster from my hand, deck or graveyard with a level that is less than or equal to the number of counters that were on it. So I'll use it to bring back my Nightmare Serpent in defense mode. Which activates his ability to summon a tuner from my deck and I choose Nightmare Mirror also in defense mode."

"When summoned to the field I can special summon a Nightmare monster from my graveyard but its level is reduced to one. So come back out, Nightmare Stallion in defense mode."

N. Stallion: Level: 5→1

"And with that his ability activates. So I'll add another Vast Nightmare from my deck. And since a face up Nightmare monster was sent to the graveyard I can special summon Nightmare Skull Soldier from my hand in defense mode as well."

"Now I have a nearly full field and you've been left defenseless."

"Sure for now but I still have one more card to play." She smirked lightly as she placed the card into her disk. "I activate Card of Sanctity. Now we each draw until we have six cards in our hands."

Izuku/Akiza: Hand: 6

"Now I activate my field spell Black Garden." She stated as the land around them was swarmed with a black briar filled with dark roses. "And now I can activate Rose Lover's ability from my graveyard. I can banish her and special summon a plant-type monster from my hand. I chose Queen Angel of Roses."

QAoR: ATK: 2400→1200

"Unfortunately her attack points are cut in half. And since I summoned a monster you get a rose token." She explained as a red rose bloomed on Izuku's side of the field.

Rose Token: DEF: 800

"You know normally it's the man who gives the lady flowers but who am I to conform to social norms." He cackled lightly to himself.

"Well I hope you enjoy it because now I play Card Rotator. By discarding one card from my hand all the monsters you control switch battle positions." She explained as all the monsters on Izuku's field stood up and lost their blue tint.

"Now I activate Rose Angel's ability. During my standby phase I can destroy the monster on your field with the lowest attack points. And since they're all zero I get to choose. So say goodbye to your mirror." She smirked as the mirror monster was shattered by a bluster of rose petals. "Now I play the spell card Double Attack. You can guess what that means."

"Your monster gets to attack twice this turn. Dammit!" He growled in frustration.

"Correct. So go my angel and destroy his soldier and stallion!" She ordered her monster who flew into battle without question.

The angel swung its sword and slashed the two monsters. Shattering them upon impact. The resulting wind from the attack sent petals everywhere, one even grazing his face and cutting his cheek. He did not flinch as he watched the angel return to her side of the field.

Izuku: LP: 4000→1600

"You triggered Skull Soldier's ability. When it's sent to the graveyard I can add another nightmare card from my deck to my hand. I chose Nightmare Wing."

"Fine then. Then I'll set my last three cards face down and end my turn." She said simply as her two face down cards appeared on the field.

Akiza: LP: 4000

Hand: 0

Izuku grit his teeth as he had to send one of his seven cards to the graveyard. How could this happen so easily? How could his lead be demolished like it was child's play? Did he really fall behind this much?

"My turn!" He grumbled as he drew from his deck. Looking over his field that now only held the rose token and his serpent. "I activate the ability of my Nightmare Wyvern from my graveyard. Since I control a Nightmare monster on my field it can be special summoned, but I can't conduct a normal summon this turn."

"And now I activate Nightmare Wing's effect. Since I have a Nightmare monster on my field I can special summon it from my hand."

"And with that I get two Rose Tokens. Thanks for the lovely bouquet." She smirked as the two roses appeared on her field in defense mode.

R.Tx2: DEF: 800

"Well you're about to get a few more. But first I'll be activating the spell card Star Changer and with it I'll be changing my wyvern from level 5 to four."

N. Wyvern: Level: 5→4

"Since I will be tuning Wing, Wyvern and Serpent all together! Howl through the night and stalk your prey. Let loose your furious wings and soar! Come forth and create oblivion! Synchro summon level 10....."

There were the sounds of cheers and laughter as Izuku sat at the head of a large table. A small party hat on his head as he held an embarrassed look on his face from all the attention. I mean you only ever turn fourteen years old once, like every other age. Though he felt especially happy seeing that his old friend had managed to come back for the day to spend it with him.

"Akiza! I can't believe that you actually snuck out of the academy for this." He laughed happily as he watched her scratch her cheek nervously.

"W-well I haven't missed your birthday for years and I would be damned if I let school make me miss one." She smiled happily as she hid something in her pocket. "Just...please don't tell my parents."

"Your secret is safe with me Rosie." He laughed happily, not really noticing the smirks his parents were giving the two.

She smiled at him. Even after these years together they were still so close. Even when he learned how....different she was he stood by her. Even when her parents shipped her off to the duel academy, that didn't stop them from keeping in contact. But if there was one thing she was grateful for about that damn school, it was the card shop.

"Hey, Izu?" She got his attention as she pulled out a small box from her pocket. "Remember way back when you gave me Black Rose Dragon for an early birthday present?"

"I remember being hugged, fainting and then waking up at home after that too. Why?"

"I saw this at the academy's card shop. The owners said that it had been sitting there for years. They didn't even want me to pay for it and just told me to take it." She slid the box to him with a small smile. "I know it doesn't seem like much but it looked too good to pass up and I knew it would work well for your deck."

"You know I'd love anything you gave me, Rosie." He took the box and opened it. Laying his eyes on the synchro monster that would become his favorite card of all time. "It's perfect Rosie. Thank you." He smiled as he wrapped his arms around her for a hug.

Little did either of them notice that there was a card in Akiza's deck that began to glow. The same could be said for the card that was in Izuku's hand. Unseen by everyone, two spirits made themselves known and sat themselves beside the children. One the mighty Black Rose Dragon who starred softly at the dragon before her.......

".....NIGHTMARE OVERLORD DRAGON!"

"Another summon means another token for me," Akiza stated as her third rose sprouted. She silently hoped he wouldn't summon more monsters so she could put her plan into action.

"Since Nightmare Wing was used for a synchro summon it is returned to my deck and I get to draw a card." He added the card to the deck and it was shuffled. Drawing his new card he grew a smirk as looked over at her. "Now I play the spell card Burning Nightmare Flame!" 

"I can only activate this card when I have Nightmare Overlord Dragon on my field. With it I can deal you 300 points of damage for every Fiend-type monster in my graveyard."

Akiza: LP: 4000→1600

"Fortunately for you that means I can't attack this turn." He smiled as his dragon's eyes glowed. "And I almost forgot to mention, my dragon gains 300 attack and defense points for every Fiend-type monster I control and in the graveyard."

N.O.D: ATK/DEF: 0→2400

"And next I'll play the spell card Foolish Burial. And use it to send my Nightmare Cerberus to the graveyard to raise his power even more."

N.O.D: ATK/DEF: 2400→2700

"With that I'll set three cards face down and end my turn." He said as the three cards appeared on the field in front of him.

Izuku: LP: 1600

Hand: 1

'Why didn't he play his field spell? It would have given him an advantage especially with his dragon.' She wondered, looking up at the dragon before her. Her eyes widened in shock when she looked up at it.

The behemoth before her that flew above the field stared back with glowing eyes. Eyes that were shedding tears onto the battlefield. It was not just him, either. A faint glow caught her eye as she stared at her opponent, or rather what was behind him. There stood each and every one of his monsters. All staring at her pleadingly with crying eyes.

"Save him." She heard a voice call out to her. "Please save him."

"I draw!" She yelled out with a new wave of determination. "And now that I enter my standby phase I can activate my angel's effect once more and destroy the monster on your field with the lowest attack points. And that would be your Rose Token." He gave no reaction as his token was shattered.

"And now I will activate the effect of Black Garden!" The garden around her along with her rose token began to wilt and crumble away. "By sending this card to the graveyard and tributing my tokens I can special summon a monster from my graveyard whose attack points equal the total of my rose tokens. And I think it's obvious who I'm choosing. Now come back to the field Black Rose Dragon!"

"And with the Black Garden gone my angel's attack points return to normal."

QAoR: ATK: 1200→2400

"I activate a face down!" Izuku called out as one of the cards in his field was flipped face up. "Nightmare Medicine Greed!"

"With this card I can banish up to three Nightmare monsters from my graveyard and gain life points equal to their combined levels times 300. And I chose Cerberus, Skull Knight and Claw Fiend."

Izuku: LP: 1600→7600

N.O.D: ATK/DEF: 2700→1800

'He gained more LP but he also weakened his dragon. What is he planning?' She thought as she resumed her turn. "And next I activate Pot of Greed and draw two cards from my deck." She draws two cards and grows a small smile. "Next I activate my face down Call of the Haunted to bring back Hedge Guard."

"Next I'll play the spell Fragrance Storm by tributing Hedge Guard, I get to draw a new card and if it's a plant type monster I can reveal it to draw another." She drew her card which gave her a smirk. "And I drew Evil Thorn so now get another card." She drew again. "Now I'll summon Evil Thorn. But it won't be around for long because I'll use its effect. By tributing it I can deal you 300 points of damage."

Izuku: LP: 7600→7300

"And in addition to that I can special summon two more Evil Thorns from my deck to the field." She smiled as the two monsters appeared on her field. "But one of them won't be sticking around because by returning one of them to my hand I can special summon Fallen Angel of Roses in attack mode. And finally I play the equip spell United We Stand and equip it to Black Rose Dragon. Giving her an additional 800 ATK/DEF points for every face up monster I control. And I count four."

B.R.D.: ATK/DEF: 2400/1800→5600/5000

'Well fuck!' Izuku thought to himself, hoping that his face down was gonna save him this round.

"Now battle! Fallen Angel of Roses destroys Nightmare Overlord Dragon!"

Izuku: LP: 7300→6700

"Now I activate my face down!" Izuku cried as the card flipped up. "Nightmare Hunting Hounds! Since a Nightmare synchro monster on my field was destroyed I get to summon Hound Tokens whose combined levels equal the level of the destroyed monster."

"A neat play but expected. I activate my trap card Solemn Judgment. By paying half my life points I can negate the activation of your trap. So sorry." She smirked as his trap was shattered.

Akiza: LP: 1600→800

"Now my Queen Angel of Roses will attack you directly!"

"I still have another face down, or did you forget! Nightmare Reflection! When you declare an attack I get to summon a Reflection Token with the same stats as your attacking monster."

Reflection Token: Plant/Earth/Level: 7/ATK/DEF: 2400/1300

"Meaning that they both get destroyed and we don't take damage." He smirked, not a cocky smirk more relieved if the small bead of sweat could say.

B.R.D: ATK/DEF: 5600/5000→4800/4200

"And I still have my dragon. Now go! Black Rose Dragon! Black Rose Flare!" Her beast let out a vicious roar as a burst of flames and rose petals were fired at him.

Izuku: LP: 6700→1900

"I activate my last trap! Damage Condenser! I can discard one card from my hand and special summon a monster from my deck with attack points less than or equal to the damage I took in attack mode. I summon Nightmare Lantern!"

Izuku: Hand: 0

"Not a problem for me since I still have my Evil Thorn! Now attack and destroy his monster!" Her monster fired a volley of thorns at his monster, shattering it upon impact.

Izuku: LP: 1900→1800

"When Nightmare Lantern is sent from the field to the graveyard I get to summon two Lantern Tokens to my field!"

Lantern Token x2: DEF: 0

"I end my turn." Akiza stared down at him, thanking her years of experience of hiding her emotions during a duel. The last thing she needed right now was to show weakness while she tried to save her friend.

"My draw!" He looked at his card and grew a grin. "I activated the spell Card of Sanctity! Now let's see what fate has in store for us." They both drew their six cards, a big smile growing on his face when he drew them. "First I activate the field spell Earthbound Prison!"

"When it's activated I can choose one monster you control and negate its effects and I choose Black Rose Dragon! Now I tribute both of my tokens to summon forth Earthbound Immortal Ukupacha Callao!"

"When it's summoned to the field I can add a spell card from my graveyard to my hand. And the spell I choose is Vast Nightmare! And next I choose to activate it to increase the attack points of my monster even more!"

E.I.U.C: ATK: 2400→7400

"Now to end this! Ukupacha Callao can attack you directly so that's just what I'll do!" The giant set of hands above them glowed a dreary shade of purple as they came crashing down towards them. "And with this I will be one step closer to ending it all! So sorry you had to be a Signer Rosie! But this is the only way to make them play!"

Akiza sat alone in the common room of her dormitory at Duel Academy. There was nothing special going on and classes were canceled for some unknown reason. Though that didn't stop her classmates from putting the blame on her. With nothing going on and no one to talk to she sat there as the TV in the common room played in the background.

'I should call Izu soon. See how he's doing. I heard his dad got a promotion recently so that'll be a conversation starter.' She thought to herself as she smiled. Getting excited to talk to her best friend again.

"This just in, a fire has suddenly erupted in the tops today. No word on its origins. Officials can only speculate." The newscaster on the TV announced, bringing her out of her thoughts. Her eyes widened as she saw the footage of the roaring flames. Fear washed over her as she saw the location it was taking place. "The number of casualties is unknown. Firefighters are standing by to hopefully suppress the issue."

'Izu....' Tears grew in her eyes as she watched the home of her best friend burn to the ground.

"Now end this duel! And with it extinguish the light of any hope this world has left!"

The giant hands came crashing to the ground with a massive force. Sending a wave of destruction in its wake.

I hope you all enjoyed. this took me longer to write than I thought it would. Probably the hardest part about writing a YuGiOh story is having to mentally keep track of things. Anyway, hope you guys don't mind the cliffhanger since I don't want to give away too much information.

Anyway, this story may come out eventually. By then I'll have more things figured out. Though I doubt I'm gonna be making anymore original cards. I might make new cards for existing archetypes for future stories but who knows.

Also, for this story the primary (probably only) love interest is gonna be Akiza Izinski. 

If you guys have any other suggestions I'll hear them out. But limit them to 5D's for YuGiOh characters.

And I do plan to have some MHA characters make an appearance. Even if only to be someone like Bakugo or Monama just to be there to be killed off.
