Skiing

Here's my day in the form of a chapter in a book:

Gina POV:

Today I woke up at 9:00-ish to my mom yelling "GINA WAKE UP! YOU HAVE TO LEAVE TO GO SKIING SOON!" Now I was kinda confused because I'd never gone skiing before, but I got up anyway. I quickly showered, brushed my hair and pulled on some jeans a t-shirt and a sweatshirt. I pulled my feet into 2 pairs of socks and managed to shove them into my sneakers (don't ask me how). By that time it was around 9:40-ish and I decided to let at least one of my friends know what I was doing and to check my notifications. After that it was about 9:50-ish and my ride wasn't coming for 10 more minutes, so I grabbed two coats and my snow pant sand waited.

When my ride got to my house I stood up, grabbed my coats and snow pants and walked outside. She drove us to Tussey mountain, which is the mountain nearest my house, where we can go skiing. Now this friend, Maddy is a college student and she's on the ski patrol, which means she like makes sure people don't get hurt and stuff while they're skiing I think. Anyway, she got a day pass for me and we rented some skis for me and a helmet. Me being me, I pulled my sweatshirt's hood (I guess it's a hoodie then maybe?) up over my helmet and Maddy told me I looked like a professional. I pulled on my snow pants and my boots and she pulled on hers and we set off on the adventure of skiing.

Now I may have mentioned this, but I'd never skied before today so I had no idea what I was doing. Lucky for me, Maddy is amazing at skiing and it wasn't that hard. She showed me some basic positions and how to stop and I only fell like three times. She told me I was amazing and doing great. Time flew by and before I knew it, it was 11:15 and Maddy said, "Oh there's also gonna be a potluck and I was gonna take you there for lunch." Me being the me that I am, I wasn't super hungry, but I agreed anyway and right as we were walking over there she  said, "Wait, do you wanna go down the big slope, on the sled? You won't have to ski down it, we'll have someone controlling your speed and everything." I kinda nodded my head and shrugged my shoulders at the same time and she took that as a yes.

I got to ride the ski lift, with Maddy, up the big slope and there was what she said was called a roost up there, where the ski patrol could watch the skiers and drink hot cocoa and talk and stuff. I got to go in there and then they pulled out the sled they use to take injured skiers down the mountain. It was pretty cool, I mean there was a guy in front of me skiing and dragging the sled down the slope and I'm pretty sure the rest of the skiers thought I was hurt or something, but who cares what they think.

So when we got to the bottom, we went to the potluck and I got a hamburger and pie and donuts and hot chocolate and I met a ladybug that I named Landon. Naturally, I was expected to socialize and eat, so I managed to get the conversation to the topic of books so it was a little less awkward and I was force-fed some pie and the rest of my food. Then we left and Maddy dropped me off at my house. I got out and now I'm just sitting at my computer and my phone, Wattpad open on both and I'm doing my math homework that I forgot existed.

I hope you all liked my short story of my day so far. Thanks for reading. Byeeeeee!
