Rant 9
This is probably a way more organized way to title a book. Simple numbers or some shit. But my brother came for a visit, he moved out years ago and i havent really seen him, so i actually emerged from my room ti conversate! Somehow our conversation went to lactose intolerant to dreams then nightmares. So i shall share stories with you guys.
The earliest dream i can remember is that i was running down a street panting. I ran as fast as i could then somehow gone from desserted deserts to the local Ace Hardware parking lot. I ran to my dad's red truck jumped in the backseat and said "DRIVE!" As he started up and sped off i looked back to see a lion falling away as distance formed between us.
So yeah, that is the earliest memory of a dream... not that bad, ive had worst. But now for my childhood nightmare. I got the same exact dream just abiut every few months. It scared the sgit out of me. Id wake up from it, the same ending every time, and stay awake the rest of the night. I used to sleep with a flashlight under my pillow so i could shine it on anything whenever i saw shadiws shift. I hated it. I hated the fact that i was afraid of the dark, a stupid fear... all because of a reoccurring nightmare. I would always either have my mom tuck me in or if i absolutely had to quickly turn off the light then run, jump on the bed, and curl into a ball under the blankets. I hated the dark, hut couldnt sleep if even a tiny light was on, so night lights werent an option. Im not afraid if it anymore... i dont think... i still run when i get a jolt up my spine and my insticts tell me to simply "run." I wont second guess... does that count? Im sure if i get the dream again ill be terrified for a few days. If its as scary as i remember. Anyway, completly off topic this is how the dream usually went every. Single. Time.
Its pitch black. Im in my house with my family. The power went out. We somehow separate. Then one by one black smoky ghosts with deep red glowing eyes eat my family's souls. Im always the last one to survive. How, is still a mystery. I always die in the same place. My back pressed against the hallway my eyes wide as i stare at the ghost coming closer and closer. It opens its mouth a deep growl coming from its throat...
Then i wake up. Greeted by the same darkness of the nightmare. Sometimes i scream. Sometimes i cry. Mostly i tremble. My flasglight already in my hand. Ill shine every corner of my room to ensure no dwmon ghost things are near, then cuddle into the blankets waiting for the sun. Surprisingly, as much as that dream terrified me i dont think ive ever crawled in bed with my parents. Ive only did that once, and that was with a dream that went like this...
Its actually sunny. Very bright, in this one. My mom and i are in a beautiful garden full of many differnt flowers and plants. Butterflies flutter around gracefully in the blue sky. Then there's rustling under one of the flowers. A scorpion crawls out from underneath its tail raised threteningly. We started running, from underneath all the plants huge scorpions start to chase us. I trip and get swarmed by the creatures. My mom cries to me, but i didnt hear her or font remember. I start twitching or something from the poison as pain takes over my body. When i woke up i snuck into my parents room the whole time hoping from foot to foot thinking that would keep the creepy crawly scorpions away. I hid under their blankets abd fell asleep between my mom and dad...
Ok... ok... last one. I promise. This one was also very creepy. In the dream i dont remember much of anything than i turned around and was face to face with a creature with empty eyesockets and it mouth was already open. Long sharp jagged teeth, and its tounge was already out with two eyeballs staring into my soul. I woke up after that and i flipped around pulling the blankets tighter or something. And in my very own room something was rummaging through my stuff. It stood up straight, then turned around. Its hollow eye sockets caught my eye almost immediatly. Then it opened its mouth and slipped out a wet slobbery tongue with two eyeballs on the end. I whatched it take excruciatingly slow steps disapeaeing in my closet. To be honest... i still think that thing is finding refuge in the closet. I moved out of that room, so its Kitty's problem not mine. I bet every night it whatches her sleep and rummages through her stuff... also! If you couldnt tell that bightmare inducing creature was the inspiration for the alien like thing in Its All Up To You, so theres some backstory for ya. Welo its late and i gotta get ti bed soon. Bye!
