Im baaack!!!🎵
Most-if not all- of you probably didnt even realise I was gone... but yeah, I went on a small vacation this week!
We went camping!!! I love camping... it makes me feel nostalgic...
We used to go to the same campgrounds every year, and every year I had my two favorite places! One: the creek! Ive been gping there since the very beginning, its not very big but I love visiting it! It has a small waterfall, and small bodies of water that always have tadpoles growing inside! As a kid I would catch them hold them until the water fripped out of my hands, then drop them back into their puddle. My two biggest memories there was when my brother's friend said he wanted to show me something cool. Being mt curious self I walked up to him, and he held a tadpole between his thumb and forefinger and squished its brains out. I was scarred... obviously.
And the second memory is climbing around on the big rocks around the waterfall, and one time I was pretty much dangling off a huge boulder, with the small body the waterfall fell too, and was clingling to the rock calling my dad. I later learned he has a bif fear of falling off of bridges or cliffs so you bet he had a heart attack then! I gave myself the nickname spidermonkey, and even thougb no one refers to me by it I felt it fit... it never really did, but I was a stupid child.
The second plave I LOVE to visit is what I call "THE ROCK FORT!!!!" My brother probably regretted dragging me there because I fell in lobe with the series of huge ass boulders! And begged him to take me back to it over and over! I was too young to leave camp alone, so my brother or someone had multuple visits to the creek and Rock Fort for hours at a time every day. I remember having pinecone wars, wrestling, climbing, pretending I was a wild creature and the fort was my home, and just having the best time I could on those boulders! I fucking loved them! I like nature, and the sound of trees or water, but you dont understand gow much I LOVE rock climbing! And the Rock Fort introduced that hobby to me. As a child, those boulders were like mountains! And the fact that I could climb them, without mucb trouble, made me feel so cool! That I couldnt stop going! I had actually gone so much that it is forever in my long term memory on how to get there. Of course... each year we came back, the boulders seemed to shrink... but I can see myself being 20 or something just sitting and listening to the wind, like I did during this trip.
Speaking of which, the moment we drobe up to camp I said Hi to everyone and fled to the creek! Duh, what else am I supposed to do!? I climbed up and down the rocks for a while, searched for tadpoles-disapointingly not finding any- chasing some frogs, then walking the way I used to take up to the campgrounds and made my way to the rock fort. It shrank so much, but I still climbed around every single crevise I could fit in. Then sat on top and whatched a little bit of the sunset. When I headed back to camp we had dinner and sat by the fire eating the delicious delicacy SMORES!!!!!! Then when it was pitch black besides the stars I went to bed.
The next day, when I was done freezing my ass off, I went back to the creek with my sister and dad. Now, we hiked to a place ive always wanted to go! But never thought it was possible!
There are some trees beside the pool where the waterfall falls, and through ghe trees you can see the creek keeps going, but the trees are so thick it seemed inpossible to get through. Well I said enough to that and walked into them, my dad and sister following. It was so peaceful there, no people ever went back there so there were no trails or liter and you could hear everything, the water, birds, lizards, winds, trees, EVERYTHING!!!! We hiked beside the creek for quite a while, I saw multiple boulders that id have to track down later for concuring, then we left the creek and started walking into the forest. I carried a stick for a few miles cuz my dad said it was good firewood, I dont think we burned it but eh, whatever. There were really big rocks and we climbed up onto them, listening to the wind come through far away trees before it reached us. Then we walked back, following a fence to an opening that conveniently went back to our campgrounds. We later went on a quad ride, that led to a hike, and ended up at a huge ass waterfall that put my childhood creek's to shame. I crawed behind it, and for the hell of it drank a handful of water. It was surprisingly fresh. The best part was the possible microorganisms didnt bother me!
The third night I didnt do much, I stayed inside our camper reading a book ive been meaning to finish for months now. We went on another quad ride hoping to find another creek, but it was dry. I did go back to the creek begind our campsite and crawling behind it too climb on the boulders those trees hid. I fear for my sister, we only went in one direction, meaning to go back we go the opposite way and she somehow got lost... really cant see how... but she did...
Anyway im sure your tired of reading this... its almost a thousand words long... sorry! But yeah, I visited a childhood campsite again... soooo thats that aaaand byes!
