Dear Soldier
And shall it be written in history and told by poetry
The memories of how a doctor loved a soldier in agony
She who was lonely, needed to find good company
And he who was wounded, grasped for his sanity
What was to be expected of a doctor in a battle field?
Little was her combat skill, invisible was her shield
Truth be told, to be in a war, she was horribly terrified
There was no one to be with, no one else to confide
And what was to be expected of a soldier in a battle field?
A good fight for all men, victory and glory for the guild
He was as brave as can be, despite the sounds of explosion
But the wounds he received could only be healed by compassion
And so the doctor treated the wounds of the soldier
By then he winced in pain as she gently made a suture
Lucky was it to be her duty, the doctor thought
For a soldier so beautiful and courageous was brought
Little did they know that they'd make more than a talk
Perhaps an unbreakable friendship or romance in a walk
She was lonely and he was her greatest company
He was injured and she was his only sanity
They were perfect for each other, you see
And to no surprise, they were in love and happy
But time became a greater war, their biggest enemy
For how long could they stay? For how long could they be?
The soldier was healed, soon he was sent far away
To a place where the doctor no longer needed to stay
He was to fight another war, to find another cure
She was to accept the truth and find her composure
And as their letter for each other ends, they say:
Farewell my love, I was truly happy by your side
I swear to God my feelings for you will never subside
But as you know, we must accept the fact that I cannot stay
I have loved you for as long as I can
Good bye, my dear, till we meet again
