*Author's note*

Just thought I might do a little update since it's literaly almost a year since I posted anything up here on this particular book. I guess I've been putting all my 'romantic' fics on the certain fandom book they belong in so I apologize for that. But to make up for it I've got 2 Rocket Raccoon requests that I did on tumblr a long, long time ago so I hope you all enjoy this fic and don't worry the next update will be a bit longer than this drabble but I hope you all enjoy it :)

All I heard was her screaming. It all went back during that fight with Thanos, Quill, Drax, Gamora, Nebula, Groot, the girl with the antennas they were all dead, I was beyond injured barely able to stand up as the purple bastard had (y/n) levitating in the air.

"You just couldn't live with your failure and it's lead you back to me. With your friends all dead, you can now watch as your heart dies." He lifted up his hand which he bore the gauntlet with two of the stones the Space and Power. (Y/n)'s limbs soon stretched out and I could hear the bones in her body crack as she screamed in pure agony.

"Rocket! Please......" I tried to stand up but I was in too much pain. All I could hear was her screaming before she was dropped down like a sack of trash before Thanos gripped her by the throat and lifted her up slowly.

"Let her go yah bastard!" I cried out.

"The strongest of wills, sometimes must make the greatest sacrifice." I could only watch in horror as my girl was squirming in Thanos' grip till finally I heard one final loud snap and her squirming ceased.

"NO! NO! NO!!!"

"Rocket....Rocket wake up!"

I suddenly shot up panting and screaming in a panic till I heard her voice say once more.

"It's okay, it's okay baby. It was just a nightmare." I looked up still panting heavily and there was my girl alive and unharmed.

"(Y/n)?" I exhaled.

"Yes Rocket, it's me." I immediately wrapped my arms around her and tried to hug her as tight as I could. Sometimes I wish I was human so that I could just squeeze her tight to make sure that she'd never disappear like that.

"You're alright, thank God you're alright."

"What did you dream about?" she asked me as I felt her pet the top of my head.

"I—I can't say.....it was too horrible."

"Okay, you don't have to tell me. We can just stay like this." I sniffled and felt tears in my eyes but I tried to hold them in. She separated from me and cupped the side of my face and she said, "You don't have to be so strong around me, Rocket, you know that."

Damn her sometimes, she just knows me too well. I finally broke down burying my face into her shoulder. She wrapped her arms around me once again stroking down my head and softly rubbing my ears.

We lay there in the bed, my head resting on her chest as I felt her fingers stroke through my fur.

"It was Thanos." I finally confessed. "He—he somehow came back, already everyone was dead and you were—"

"Shh, you don't have to tell me anything else." I felt her kiss my head and she continued, "He's gone Rocket. He can't hurt us anymore. We won, and he's never coming back. Look at me," I looked up at her and she cupped my face in her hands and she wiped away a tear that had snuck its way down my face, "I'm never going to leave you Rocket, nothing's gonna hurt me. You know I can take care of myself, right?"

"That's the first thing that attracted me to you." She smiled and said.

"Exactly, now trust me when I say that I'm not going anywhere, I'm here and I always will be."

"How is it that you know exactly what to say?" I said softly.

"It's a gift." She stroked my cheek and kissed the center of my forehead and asked me, "Think you can go back to sleep?" I nodded and soon the two of us cuddled back into bed.

"I love you babe."

"Love you too Rocket, sleep well baby."
