In the middle of the ocean, Captain Kirby considers whether or not to obtain  some preals for a necklace. it's for a friend he said in his head, but maybe it's not worth it, especially since his luck with pearl diving is horrible

Last time, he almost got mauled by a shark, so he has some ptsd from that experience, but hey, rewards come from the bold, so he decided to dive into the water a explore the depths

Minutes of searching later captain Kirby found a cave with monsters so captain Kirby pulled out his sword and gun a explored the inside of this cave but he saw a band of pirates were harassing some mermaid who was sobing

So, Captain Kirby grabbed the back of one of the pirates' heads and slammed him  to the floor. The other pirates seemed to have panic. One grabbed the mermaid by the neck, putting a sword over her throat, her breathing heavy

The other two pirates approached Captain Kirby with full intent of killing the captain, but he wasn't gonna surrender not now or ever, so he grabbed one of the pirates' sword and disarmed him and stabbed his other fellow pirate in the chest then he took his gun and shot the other one clean in the head

Both pirates are  died on the floor, and now an intense stand-off, the pirates sword still up to her neck it's so close she could feel the cold steel on her neck

The pirate had a demand and yelled it out loud

pirate: BACK OFF BUB OR ELSE THE MERMAID GETS IT

Captain Kirby: Well, how about this, you see this hat of mine

Pirate: Yeah?

Captain Kirby: Well, it's all yours here. Come and get it

He takes off his hat and puts it on the floor

The pirate lets go of the mermaid and takes the hat and runs off before Captain Kirby shoots him in the back of the head , takes his hat back, and looks back at the mermaid

Captain Kirby: What's your name

Lucy: I'm Lucy, and thanks for saving me

Captain Kirby: Anytime

Lucy: Here's a peral for your troubles, and can you stay a bit longer? I don't feel safe here anymore

Captain Kirby: Don't worry, just come with me
