Race is an astronomy nerd. He hyperfixated on it once as a teenager and now just has a lot of random knowledge about space. He still loves space.

Spot, on the other hand, never really had an interest in it. Sure, he thinks the stars and moon are pretty, but he never really had an interest in it.

Until he meets Race.

Race gets excited over seeing stars. His whole face lights up and he starts talking really fast and Spot thinks he's very cute.

Race takes Spot camping in the countryside in the summer because it's easier to see the stars there.

On these trips, Race likes to lie in the grass with Spot to look at the stars and he'll ramble on about the stories behind constellations, facts about certain stars, anything, and Spot just listens to him with heart eyes.

For an anniversary, Spot gets Race one of those 'name a star' things. Race loves it a lot (he probably cried).

When they're alone Spot sometimes calls Race his star, and Race's whole face lights up every time he does it.

When Spot wants to propose, he takes Race to one of those overnight visits at an observatory, with sleeping bags and way too many blankets.

It's just the two of them there and they watch the stars, and this time it's Spot that points out Race's favorite constellation to him.

At the end of the night, Spot proposes under the stars (Race says yes of course), right underneath Race's favorite constellation - Orion.

Race cried over the Curiosity Rover and Spot comforted him, even if he didn't quite Get It.

Race has small tattoos of various constellations that have meaning to him. Usually the star signs of people he loves. It starts with one for Jack on his shoulder blade, but soon most of his back is covered in them, for each of the newsies. Spot likes to say that Race is his own personal night sky.

Spot has only one tattoo which is of Orion.
