~Klaus's POV~
I walked through the house, listening to Ben talk.
"You should really get a job. And a driver's li-" he started before being cut off.
"F-F-FUUUUU-UUC-CK" somebody screamed from the bathroom in front of me.
"Are you okay???" I asked worriedly with a knock.
"Ugh, I'm fine. It's just- UGH." Diego's voice sounded from the room. He was obviously annoyed.
"What's wrong? Do you need anything?" I asked. Diego audibly sighed.
"Just- it's- y'know....... that time...." he trailed off. I suddenly realized what he was talking about and rushed off to find Allison to see if she had any pads.
Shark week has always been kind of difficult for him.
"Pads." I demanded, slightly out of breath. Her eyes widened in surprise before she grabs a pad from her bag on her bed.
"I'm starting to run out, sorry." She said to me as I grabbed it and ran.
"THANKS, BYE!" I shouted back as I clumsily ran back to the bathroom.
"Bro, I got some you-know-what's for you. Mind if I come in to give it to you?" I asked, knocking on the door twice.
"Yeah, sure, g-give me a minute....... y-yeah you can come in n-now..." Diego stuttered out. I opened the door gently, seeing my brother shirtless with a towel covering his lower half.
His scars on his chest looked much more healed than the time he called me into the hospital to show me the results. Although that happy scar remained, quite a few others were visible from both past training and his strange Batman nighttime antics.
"Here you go. I'm gonna go to the store, do you need anything? What kinda pads do you usually use? Or do you use tampons??" I rambled a bit, setting the pad on the counter next to Diego. Diego laughed at my antics.
"H-here I'll write it d-down for you..." he said, grabbing a notepad and pen that somebody threw on the bathroom counter. He scribbled down some things before handing the notepad to me.
"M'kay, I'll be back soon. I'm also gonna get stuff for the others, alright?" I asked. Diego nodded and I closed the door quietly.
"That was pretty nice of you, Klaus." Ben said, nodding at me.
"I just don't want Diego to snap my neck. And it's the right thing to do. He is my BROTHER after all." I said, making a shoving motion in Ben's direction.
"HEY DOES ANYBODY NEED ANYTHING FROM THE STORE?!" I shouted, grabbing some money from one of dear old dad's drawers.
~Small Time skip~
I opened the giant doors to the mansion with some difficulty, holding three plastic bags in each hand. Turns out living in a house with six siblings, a robot, and a monkey butler costs quite some money to get things for.
"I'M HOME, BITCHES! SOMEBODY, COME DOWN AND HELP ME!" I shouted into the seemingly empty building (which is far from the truth). In a small flash of blue, my younger-looking sibling was next to me and grabbing two bags. Vanya and Diego soon joined them, Diego looking for the pads. Five sighed with a small smile and handed our brother a small bag. Diego looked in the bag before thanking me and rushing off.
"Poor Diego." Five said monotonously. As one of the people who understand Diego's struggle, they always took pity on our brother. I nodded before making my way to the kitchen.
"Do you need anything?" Mom asked from her place by the stove. I nodded, determined to make my upset brother happy.
"Chocolate cake, stat." I said.
"Chocolate increases estrogen levels, I don't think that's a good idea. Well, I guess it is a sufficient comfort food and has little enough actual chocolate that it might not effect our brother. How about some green tea, too, to balance it out some more." Five said from my side. It took me a minute to process what he said, so Mom put on a kettle and started getting out ingredients to make chocolate cake while I stood there.
"Hey, is Diego alright?" Luther asked after walking into the kitchen, a confused and worried expression on his face. I sighed and sat on one of the chairs at the table.
"Shark week." I mumbled, just loud enough for him to hear.
"..................... OH" Luther said, his face slowly showing realization as he remembered Diego was trans. "I um..... forgot he was trans....." he said, sounding disappointed in himself.
"It's okay, big guy. Tell Diego you forgot, it might cheer him up to hear somebody who knew him before his transition forgot he wasn't always so masculine-looking." I said, trying to make the gorilla man not feel bad.
"Something like that would probably give him a giant confidence boost. Only use it during times like this, or it can be dangerous." Five joked, appearing next to me.
You see, Luther has become much more anxious since the world almost ended and he found out everything he thought about dear old Dad was wrong. When he slips something up, he starts spiraling. I guess that's because he realized just how harmful him and Dad were, so he doesn't want to be as bad as he used to be. I'm proud of him for it.
"Okay... I will... thanks..." Luther said, seeming a little less disappointed in himself. He walked over to sit with me and Five. After a couple minutes of pointless chatter, Diego appeared in the doorway.
"Hiya, bro." I say, a grin appearing on my lips.
"Thanks, but sh-shut it." He glared at me, grabbing the cup of tea that was finished moments ago.
"Luther has something to tell you that might make you feel a bit better." Five said, prompting Luther to use the makeshift compliment.
"Uh- yeah! I, uh-... kind of... forgot you were trans... for a while...?" Luther said, trying to make it sound like a compliment but failing. Diego stared wide-eyed for a second before giving a small smile and chuckling at our astronaut brother.
"Th-thanks. That does m-make me feel better." He said, walking over and patting Luther on the shoulder before sitting down.
We all just sat and talked for a while more, enjoying the peacefulness we managed to get.
I'm glad this all happened.
