Empty House (Norway X Reader)
It was a Friday night in December and the temperature was barely just above 45°. Lukas stepped out of his empty house and decided to go for a small midnight walk around the park. Grabbing his phone, keys, and wallet, he made his way out the door and headed straight for the park.
Once there, he tightened his navy blue scarf around his neck. His steps barely making any noise against the cold, white snow. Lukas' face red from the cold temperature but he felt nothing, as per usual.
Whilst on his walk, he heard the sound of someone crying. Curious, he checked it out. Finally finding the source of the noise, in front of him stood a girl around his age. (H/L), silky (H/C) hair, and pale (S/C) skin. She was crouched down beneath a tree, her eyes red and puffy from crying. She wore a thin black jacket, a (Fav/Band) tee, red skinny jeans, and navy blue Converse.
Slowly, Lukas approached the hunched over figure before finally saying something.
"Hej, is everything alright?"
Surprised, the girl jumped to her feet and twirled around, her (H/C) hair flying. Her eyes widened at the sight of the blonde in front of her.
Immediately, she wiped her puffy eyes and took a deep breath, and smiled. "Er, everything's alright, Sir. Nothing to worry about." Although her voice cracked slightly at the end, her smiling demeanor didn't.
Lukas eyed her before taking a step closer and sighing. "Don't lie. I heard you crying a little while ago."
The girls (E/C) eyes widened in surprise before nervously laughing. "Haha, what're you talking about? I wasn't crying..." She blushed as she poked her fingers together, staring down at the snowy floor with a solemn look.
Lukas sighed and shook his head. His next action surprising the (H/C)-haired girl and, surprisingly, himself.
Lukas grabbed a hold of the strange girl's hand as he led her away towards his house. Upon reflex, she began to resist, yelling out, "Stranger danger!"
Before she could full on panic, Lukas finally said something. "Calm down. I'm not trying to kidnap you. Just trying to help." His poker face never-ending as he stared into her (E/C) eyes with his midnight blue ones. She blushed as she began stuttering something out, maybe from the cold or from her own heart that began to skip beat.
"W-What do you mean b-by helping me out?" She stuttered as she hesitantly followed. Lukas sighed as they were finally in front of his empty house. He took his keys and unlocked the door, leading them inside. He closed and locked the door behind them, taking off his shoes and scarf.
The young girl stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do in this stranger's empty abode.
Lukas took her hand in his and led her to the living room where he lit the fire place in front of them. "Stay here. You can take your shoes off if you want." Lukas muttered before walking off to his kitchen.
~~~ 2nd Person POV ~~~
You quietly began to take your shoes off, sitting on the soft carpet in front of the fire place. After a couple of minutes, Lukas returns from the kitchen holding two steaming hot mugs of hot chocolate.
He hands one out to you while he's already begun to drink the other. You held the mug of hot chocolate as small, little marshmallows floated around in the hot liquid. You quietly blew on it to cool it down before sipping it silently. Lukas took a seat next to you on the carpet as the room was enveloped in silence, except for the crackling of the flames dancing in the fire place.
A couple minutes after, Lukas finally broke the silence. "Why were you crying?"
You stared down at your hot chocolate as you recalled the past events that happened not so long ago. You quietly chuckled to yourself as you felt yourself wanting to tell this random stranger, who randomly took you into his home and gave you hot chocolate, why you were crying.
Lukas patiently waited for you to answer, staring intently at your hunched over form. The warm flames of the fire place illuminating your silky (H/C) hair.
You took a sip of your hot chocolate before finally answering his question. "Well, I kinda ended up getting my heart broken... on a very special day... That's why I was crying." You quietly said as you looked at the blonde sitting next to you.
He simply nodded before asking another question. "What happened?"
You inhaled loudly as he stared at you. "Well, today was me and my fiancee's anniversary, and naturally, I wanted to do something for him. So, I went out and bought him all the things that I knew he had always wanted. An entire bag full of legos, a pretend battle ax, the Little Mermaid Diamond Edition movie set, so on and so on. Afterwards, I was driving back to the house I shared with him. When I came back home, I saw his car in the driveway, so I knew he had come back home from work since he works late. I got all the things I got for him and made my way into the house."
You paused to take a sip of your hot chocolate, quenching your thirst as you stared at the orange flames in the fire place. You continued on as you remembered all the things that led to you running into the park crying.
"Strangely, I found that the door was unlocked. I simply thought he forgot to unlock the door after coming in and shrugged. My mind begged to differ when I saw two pairs of heels that didn't belong to me, sitting next to my fiancee's in a scattered fashion."
You took another deep breath as you closed your eyes, feeling tears already beginning to surface. Continuing on, tears had already begun flowing out.
"Quietly, I went up the stairs to see if he was in bed. Oh, he was in bed alright. In bed with another woman. Two of them, in fact. I could hear them all moaning as they were acting like they were stuck to each other. I could hear the bed creaking. The bed me and him shared for the past two fucking months. So, I burst into the room. My face was red from anger and disappointment. I threw all the gifts I bought for him onto the ground and left. I ran and ran away from him and my house, and that's how you found me crying in the park."
You finished explaining to the blonde Norwegian, a broken and empty look on your tear-filled face. Lukas stared at you with a pitiful look, but his poker face remained. He placed a hand on your shoulder before saying, "I'm sorry."
You sighed before shrugging his hand off your shoulder. "Don't be. It's not your fault." You turned to look at the Norwegian with a broken stare. "It's mine-"
"It's not your fault either, so don't even." Lukas interrupted you as he stared right back at you.
You sighed before smiling a broken smile at him. "Thanks, uh-"
"Lukas Bondevik." He interrupted as you smiled. "Thanks, Lukas." You said before turning back to stare at the fire place.
"If you don't mind me asking, what was your fiancee's name?" Lukas asked as you took a big gulp of your cooled hot chocolate.
"His name's Matthias Kohler. I met him 5 years ago in Denmark while I was visiting my great grandmother in Copenhagen." You sighed out as you traced the top of your mug.
Lukas glared at the picture of Matthias sitting with the rest of his other pictures of Lukas and his family. He clenched his fists so tightly that they turned white. A shadow loomed over his eyes as he made a mental note to kill Matthias for real next time he saw the stupid Dane.
Lukas 'T'ched' before turning to look at you. "Hey, er--" Lukas paused as you took a sip of your hot chocolate.
"(Y/N)." You simply stated as you stared at the fire place with a solemn look.
"(Y/N), would you like to stay over?" Lukas asked as you turned to look at him, shocked by his words. "What, why?! I mean- You don't have to let me stay over!"
"Please, (Y/N). I want to let you stay over. I'm not gonna let you go back to that stupid Dane." Lukas protectively said, as he grabbed your hand.
Your face flushed red as you frowned. "Don't worry, I'm not gonna go back to him- Wait, how'd you know he was Danish?"
Lukas shook his head before standing up, still holding onto your hand. "That doesn't matter. What matters is that your not going back to that stupid Dan- I mean Matthias."
"B-But--" "And besides, where are you gonna go if you decide not to?" Lukas pointed outas you pouted. "Excuse me! But I am a strong woman that doesn't need some stranger to look after her!" You exclaimed as you huffed out angrily.
"Oh? Then where are you gonna go?" Lukas asked as he raised an eyebrow. "I'll just go out to the nearest hotel or go to a friend's house-" "In that freezing weather? Yeah, I don't think so." Lukas frowned as you stood up. "Oh yeah!? Just watch me!" You yelled out as you put your shoes back on and walked over to the entrance.
You grabbed hold of the door handle before turning to Lukas. "It was very nice of you to come and help me with my problem, but good-bye!" You yelled as you walked out the door and into the freezing cold.
Lukas shook his head with a sigh and stared back at that fireplace. 'That idiot.' He thought as he gripped his mug handle.
But why did his heart ache when you left? You were just a mere stranger that he had randomly decided to bring into his home to 'help' with whatever caused her to cry.
Lukas 'T'ched' and frowned before setting his mug down. 'Why do I even care? She's just another girl out there in the world.' He sighed before turning on his radio to the weather forecast station.
"Tonight there's going to be a snow storm, so expect there to be over a foot of snow tomorrow morning, folks-" Lukas tuned out the rest of the news before jumping up, putting his shoes on, and running outside in the freezing cold snow storm. 'That idiot!'
~~~ Your POV ~~~
I breathed out heavily as I tried to see where I was going in this snow storm. I get that it was really cold earlier, but I wasn't expecting a snow storm!
I began regretting not staying back at Lukas' house, but then my pride decided to go against it. 'No! He thought you couldn't last out here. There's no way in hell you're not gonna prove him wrong!' My pride and dignity seemed to scream at me as I shook my head. I mentally yelled at my ego to shut up as I continued to make my way through the storm.
I blinked multiple times to see where I was going, but all I could see was plain, white snow. I shivered tremendously as the cold wind blew through my thin jacket.
I fell to my knees as I could feel my body temperature drop and my body become weaker. My eyes dropped slightly as I thought pitifully to myself. 'I guess this is the end for me. Didn't really expect myself to go down in a snow storm, but oh well...'
I lowered my head and closed my eyes while hugging myself tightly, trying to keep my body as warm as possible. But then I heard someone calling my name.
"(Y/N)! Where are you!?"
My (E/C) eyes shot open as I raised my head. 'Lukas?!'
"Lukas!?" I hoarsely screamed out into the snow storm.
"(Y/N)!? Is that you!?" Lukas yelled back loudly through the snow storm, trying to locate where I was. "Yeah, it's me!" I managed to yell back before feeling my energy begin to drain.
"Lukas, help..." I whispered out loudly. Strangely enough, Lukas actually heard me. "Don't worry, (Y/N)! I'll be there to help. Please, just hold on." Lukas pleaded as he treaded nearer to where you kneeled.
"Lukas, I don't think I'll be able to..." I sadly said as I could feel myself grow weaker and weaker. "Don't you dare give up on me!" Lukas yelled as he frowned and furrowed his brow.
After a couple more minutes of waiting and growing weaker, Lukas was finally able to see where I was. "(Y/N)!" Lukas called out as he started running over to where I was kneeling.
I dryly chuckled as I could feel my eye lids shut close. "Aha, thank god.." I mumbled out before passing out onto the snow.
"(Y/N)!" Lukas yelled as everything seemed to have turned white.

~~~ 2nd Person POV ~~~
Your (E/C) eyes slowly opened up. You were cocooned in multiple blankets; a cold, wet towel placed carefully on your forehead. Your head was in pain and your memories were all fuzzy as you felt something clamped around your hand. "Lukas..?" You quietly called out, your voice hoarse from not being used for a while.
Lukas' eyes fluttered open at the mention of his name, his hand tightly gripping (Y/N)'s hand as if she were to disappear. Immediately, he shot up from his seat and looked down at an already awake, pale you. "(Y/N)..." Lukas quietly said as he rubbed the sleepiness from his eyes.
You stared at him with sad eyes and a warm, gentle smile. "Lukas, I'm so sorry... Even though we barely know each other, thanks for doing all those things for me..." You quietly thanked Lukas as you finally remembered what happened last night.
Lukas gently squeezed your hand. "Don't apologize-" "I'm sorry for being so stupid and running out when you were only trying to help. I'm sorry for making you go after my dumb ass just because I couldn't swallow my pride and allow you to help. I'm sorry for making you do all those things... I'm such a failure. I just--" Tears began to flow from your empty (E/C) eyes as you were beginning to get choked up.
Lukas frowned as he brought a hand up to wipe your flowing tears. "Don't apologize, (Y/N). It was my fault you got caught in the storm. I didn't stop you in time. So... It was all my fault. I'm sorry for letting this happen to you, (Y/N). I shouldn't have let you go..." Lukas said with a blank face, but his eyes showed sincerity and said that he was sorry.
A small smile made it's way upon your lips as tears continued to flow from your tired eyes. "Thanks, Lukas... For everything." You quietly stated as you squeezed his hand. He squeezed your hand back and said it was fine. "Hey, Lukas..." You quietly called out as you two held hands. "Yeah?" he answered as he stared at his hand which was holding yours tightly.
"Would you mind if I stayed over for a few days... to, uh, get over what happened last night...." You shyly muttered as a light blushed danced across your cheeks. Lukas fought his upcoming blush as he coughed into his hand, the ghost of a smile dancing on his lips. "Of course not. You can stay for however long you want..." He said as you smiled widely before yawning.
"You should probably get more sleep." Lukas said as he took the cold, wet towel off your forehead. You hummed in response before shutting your eyes close and slowly drifting off to a deep sleep.
Lukas inhaled and exhaled loudly before leaning in and placing a small kiss on your forehead. He hesitantly let go of your warm hand and thought to himself as he walked out of the occupied guest room, 'I guess my house won't be so empty after all...'
Hello, everyone!~ I hope you enjoyed this one-shot of Lukas and reader~ Norway was probably really OOC in this but I kinda rushed this one despite it being super duper long.
Speaking of long-ass one-shots, do you guys prefer that I make these one-shots really long or should I shorten them? I feel like I'm making them too long, but then again, it keeps you guys occupied as I write the other ones. I dunno, but tell me what you think. :3
Anywhoooo, I hope you enjoyed this one-shot and see you all next time!
Hasta la pasta!~
