seeing some familiar faces
Ashley has been compliant to the demands that were given to her by a group that goes by the name 'Grazers.' She didn't have much to lose regardless of the fact. As far as she knew her friends were long gone and most likely dead from how they acted before the attack so she stopped fighting early on and just gave into the thought that any part of her old life was blown away in the wind. So getting a mission to get rid of a couple targets was the new normal for her. What wasn't normal was seeing a face that was supposed to be long gone.
"Sharon?" Ashley couldn't hide the look of disbelief as she stared down at the small group of three, One being a small Asian that she basically grew up with for most of her life. Once the shock passed through the guilt hit hard, seeing her long lost friend after three or so years made her realize something.
Her friends were still out there, and they probably suffered all throughout those years. Even from where she was hiding she could make out a few differences with Sharon's movements, she kept away from the other two in her group and just left them behind, she was quiet, really quiet. If Ashley hadn't caught a glimpse of her she would of most likely missed her.
Sharon soon stopped all movement and turned to look straight up at Ashley's perching area. Ashley took in a sharp breath and quickly started working on her escape route which was the mechanical wings that were strapped onto her. She took a glance back at where Sharon stood only to do a double take once she noticed she was missing. She stood up quickly and pulled out a butterfly knife from her back pocket, she isn't really fond of hand to hand combat but knew how to do it somewhat even if that's not what she was worried about. She was worried because she didn't know what to expect with this group, with Sharon.
Not only has she been away from her friend for three years, but the file that was given to her with the information of the group was fairly minimal so she didn't know any weakness to exploit or their fighting styles. They didn't even give her any names and she wasn't sure if it was because of her past or because they really couldn't find more info about them.
Ashley turned around only to get knocked back by a foot that belonged to the friend in question. She staggered back a couple steps before immediately dodging another blow to the face with a quick duck and roll as Sharon quickly brought down her foot only to hit the roof.
"Sharon!" Another dodge "It's me Ash! We annoyed each other but somehow put up with it since elementary." This didn't bring up any reaction, in fact Sharon's face showed no emotion whatsoever. It was just a blank gaze that held a promise behind it, a promise Ashley probably didn't want to find out. She didn't know how but she had completely forgotten about the other two people that she saw with Sharon before. Most likely from the shock of everything, speaking of shock that's how she remembered that Sharon didn't come alone.
Ashley felt her body tense and crumple to the floor as electricity runs through her body like waves. "Subject has been compromised." A new person came into view and looked as if they were speaking into an earpiece. They pulled down their mask and pulled out a small chip. "W-what?" She struggled to get her voice to work as she pushed through the pain that followed the first shock. She didn't get much recovery time since the chip was attached to her neck and delivered a more powerful shock that ran through her. Darkness started filling her vision as the chip dug into her neck. A final thought went through her head before she passed out.
'This is karma for calling you short isn't it?'
