To make up for telling you that Lizz just died, here's a smol tidbit from my 3rd NinjaGo book that comes after Ninja Possession

It was every Ninja for themself, now, each running a different way than the other, but all hell bent on leaving Kai behind to fend for himself. The cheetahs were standing stock-still, paying no mind to any of the Ninja anymore.

Kai was screaming his throat raw, struggling to throw the stranger off him, and when he'd finally succeeded, his feet slipped in the dirt in his hurry to get on his feet and get the hell out of there. He didn't stop when he picked up his sword from the jungle floor, either, almost causing him to face-plant into the mud.

The flight home was silent, thick with a tension that was sliceable with a knife. No one talked, no one looked at each other -- especially not Kai. He was angry with everyone for leaving him to fight off the Spirit on his own.

When they got back to the Monastery, they still weren't associating with one another. Though, they did accomplish at least one thing:

They made it back out in one piece.

Alive.

Sensei greeted them in the front hall, and was about to ask about their task when he noticed the somber attitude of the group. Then he thought better of it and set to finding Misako; it was best to eat and relax before quizzing.

Nya found Lizz. Or, well, Lizz found Nya; Nya just happened to be Lizz's room at the moment, for some reason, "Hey. How'd it go?"

"Kai almost died," Lizz's was emotionless as she answered, peeling her hot and sticky gi off herself with a cringe, "Ew."

Nya was taken aback, "Kai what?"

"Almost died," Lizz repeated flatly, grabbing a change of clothing, "Imma go take a shower."

Nya followed Lizz down the hall towards their bathroom, "Wait, you can't just... say that and leave!"

"No one said anything about leaving," Lizz slid open the drawer beneath the toothbrush drawer and set her clean clothes on it, "I told you I'm going in the shower, not leaving for the Elemental Monastery for nine years, Nya. Now, unless you want to watch me strip, or join me for some reason, I suggest stepping out for a moment." she gave Nya a pointed look.

Nya left and swung the door shut behind her, allowing Lizz to strip and step into the shower. However, Nya knocked on the door and, when Lizz gave the assurance that the shower curtain was closed, walked right back in and leaned on the counter, "Now explain."

"Can't even shower in peace," Lizz shook her head and grabbed the shampoo bottle, "Look, we were snooping around the Crystal hideout like we were told to do and after we rendezvoused back with each other we ran into a bit of an... issue."

"What was the issue?" Nya pressed.

"Would you let me finish, woman?" Lizz huffed, "We don't know what the problem was! After I get outta here Imma go ask the boys if we should ask Sensei about it or not."

"I'll come, too, see if I don't know anything about it," Nya decided, "Do you have any vague idea what it was?"
