Your POV

Devis was talking to me about all her drama, which made me roll my eyes. I could honestly care less about her dating life.

" Are you even listening to me Y/n/n?" she stated

I just glanced up at her. " Dev, I don't care about your dating life with Paxton."

She just rolled her eyes and went on her phone. I was just watching everybody walk by heading to class. I saw Paxton start walking up to us so I let out a groan, not because I don't like him, it's just I don't want to be a third wheel.

" What? Not happy to see me Y/n?" he questioned

I let out a sarcastic laugh. " I'm leaving."

They both just let out a laugh begging in for a kiss. I left immediately, but then automatically slammed into a hard chest. Before I could hit the ground I felt hands go around me. I looked up to find Des. I smiled and hugged him. " Hey." I said

I felt him smile in my neck and then felt his warm breath hit my ear when he said...

" Hey."

We both pulled away from the hug at the same time. " So, want me to walk you to class." he asked

I smiled and placed a quick kiss on his cheek. " I would like that Des. Thank you."

We both started walking side by side while holding hands. I couldn't keep the smile off my face. I was just so happy to be with Des. He makes me so happy. I just really wish his mom would like me. She doesn't think I fit well with her son and it's really messing with my head. I didn't even notice that we arrived at class until he said...

" Y/n/n. Are you all right?

I just gave him a smile and a quick peck before heading into class.

Des's POV

I watched her disappear into her class and I couldn't help, but wonder what got her so upset. I totally forgot I had to head to class, so I kind of sprinted my way to my class before the bell would ring.

I was looking around the lunch room searching for my girlfriend. I found her sitting next to Devis and Paxton's friends. I smiled and walked over there.

" Hey guys, mind if I steam Y/n?" I asked

Devis was the one who answered. " Yeah! Take her and try to get her to smile."

I nodded and stated...

" I'll try my best, Dev."

I grabbed her hand and pulled her away from the crowded lunchroom. Once we got to a quiet corner I turned around to face her and gently held her face.

" All right tell me what's got you so down in the dump babe."

She let out a small sigh. " I can't tell you." she whispered

I looked at her confused, " Is it something bad? Did you do something?" I questioned

She looked at me shocked. " No! Des, I would never do that." I nodded and pulled her into my embrace. I held her tight, but not too tight. " Then tell me what's wrong. I might be able to help babe."

She took a shaky breath. I could tell by her body language that she was on the verge of tears. " Babe, if it's making you this upset then tell me please. I just want to help."

She then whispered " Your mom."

I gently pulled her away so I could see her. " What about my mom?" I questioned

She looked up at me with teary eyes. " She told me..."

" It's okay, take your time babe." I said while lightly rubbing my thumb along her cheek bone.

" She doesn't think I'm good enough for you." she said

I let out a low groan. " Babe, don't listen to her, she doesn't get to decide who's in my life."

She smiled and leaned in. I met her in the middle and kissed her sweet lips.

I walk into my house a little mad. I can't believe my mom would do something like that. I mean I really love her, but she can't go around telling my girlfriend that she's not good enough for me.

" Hey sweetheart, how was school?" she asked

" Why did you say 'you're not good enough' to my girlfriend?" I said, going start into it.

She looked at me shocked. " What? I didn't say that!"

I ran my hand through my hair. " Yes you did mom! She told me herself, and she was nearly in tears."

" Well that's a little dramatic." she said

I just glared at her. " MOM! Stop insulting my girlfriend. She did nothing to you other than being nice. Don't you want me to be happy."

She let out a sigh. " Yes, I want you to be happy. That's all I want for you."

" Then just let me be with Y/n/n without insulting her. She makes me super happy. I feel like I can be myself around her."

She smiled and nodded. " I'm glad you found someone Des. If you believe she's the best girl then I can try my best to accept that."

I pulled her into a huge hug before running upstairs to call Y/n.

Your POV

I was in my room with Dev. She was trying to make me feel better. She stopped mid sentence since my phone started buzzing. I picked dit up to find Des calling me. Dev smiled and just pointed to the door. I answered the call and saw that he was smiling.

" Hey babe!"

I let out a giggle. " Hi Des, what's got you all happy."

He just smiled even bigger if that was even possible. I raised a brow, " Well... don't keep me waiting you big goon."

he let out a laugh, but said, " My mom said she will try to be happy for us. She just wants what's best for me."

I looked at him. " Are you for real? Like you're not messing with me."

He smiled, " Nope, it's a real babe."

I let out a squeal of excitement. " Thank you for talking to your mom."

He just nodded. " It's not a big deal. I just didn't want to see you upset anymore."

" Awe Des, you're so sweet."

He smirked, " Well, thank you. But I'll see you tomorrow babe. Get some needed rest."

I just smiled and stated... " I love you Des." Right after saying that I felt shy. I could tell Des was shocked, but he came back to reality and said...

" I love you more, love."

We then ended with both of us giving each other air kisses before hanging up the phone. I put my phone down and couldn't keep the smile off my face. I feel like Des was the one for me and it made me all giddy inside.
