'Past Time'

We were in my backyard and we played on the play set I had while our families talked and watched us. I needed help with my swing since I was shorter than him. We were having a blast until he had to leave. The very next day my family and I went over next door to hang out with his family. When I got there we went to your backyard and went up to our tree house we had asked to be built. While we were up there we played a game of truth or dare and I dared you to kiss me, but after I said that I got down the ladder of the tree house and ran around his yard. We ended up playing tag and forgot about the dare.

He took me to the creek because it was his favorite place and it was a secret spot nobody knew about. I felt pretty special to be here with him. We were talking until he said something that I had to argue against. He was leaving to go on tour again when he just got back from one. We were screaming at each other and there may have been some tears. I made him take me back home since I didn't want to be near him at the moment. When I got to my house he asked me to wait but I wasn't listening to a word he was saying. I went to my room to calm down but ended up falling asleep. When I woke up the next day I wanted to go to his house to apologize for starting a fight. When I made it out the door his present scared me since he was sitting on my front porch steps. I walked up to him and gave him a hug to say I'm sorry.

Shawn asked me to come to the creek with him because he wanted to show me something. He took me by the hands since he asked me to cover my eyes. We stopped but he never said open my eyes so I kept them closed until I heard him say the word. I heard him say open your eyes. When I opened them I started crying because Shawn was holding a ring. He asked me these exact words ' Y/n we have known each other since we were little. I couldn't have asked for anyone better in my life to be married to so will you Y/n Y/m/n Y/l/n marry me?' I couldn't find words so all I did was nod my head yes. Our parents were happy for us. The day came to walk down the aisle with my dad. There were tears of joy when we got married. When the priest said 'Do you Shawn Peter Raul Mendes to be your dearly wedded husband' I said I do and he said he did too.

'Skip to babies come'

When we got home we both took turns rocking our new daughter and new son in the rocking chairs we had on our front porch.

To this day I still am able to see the little shimmer in his eyes when we speak.

'Present Time'

After I finished my last sentence my grandson told me...

" Can we do something more fun."

I rolled my eyes at him but said...

" Sure. Go pick out a movie to watch."

I then looked at my granddaughter and laughed at the look on her face.

" Boys have cooties and love sounds really gross. It's not for me."

I laughed again and took her in the house to watch a movie.
