A/n: You might need to have a box of tissues on hand. Oh and this week's episode was just ugh. I really need the next one so I can see Conrad's POV.

Your POV

Ever since I got the news from Laurel about Susannah I haven't stopped crying. I had to force myself to get up because today is a dreadful day. I tried my best to contact the two fisher boys, but I kept getting their voicemails. I couldn't depend on my mom cause she's been out with my stepdad. I just have to push myself today to help the boys cause I know what it's like to lose someone you love. I was pretty glad Laurel was gonna drive me cause with how anxious I'm feeling getting behind the wheel is a horrible idea.

I soon heard a car horn so I grabbed everything I was gonna need and headed to Laurel's car. I got into the back next to Steven. I just gave him a small side smile.

We were soon on the road to the service. It was the most quiet car ride of my life. I could feel the tension and emotions were very high. So I just tried to calm myself down some and distracted my mind the best I could while looking out the passing world through the window.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was sitting behind the two brothers closer to Conrad. While watching the service I couldn't help but let some tears fall, but I stayed quiet. When they motioned for Conrad to come up I smiled a little and reached over to squeeze Jere's shoulder for support. So Conrad started playing and singing, making me tear up even more. I made sure to keep my eyes on him so he knew I was supporting him, even though listening to his voice crack and break was killing me to the point I wanted to protect him.
He soon came back to the bench and I leaned forward to hug him from behind.
Conrad's POV
After setting my guitar down I moved back to sitting next to Jere. I soon felt arms around me, but I wasn't alarmed because I could smell the smallest bit of vanilla perfume and her peach shampoo. I rested my hands over her arms.
" That was beautiful, but maybe a little pitchy." She whispered in a joking manner which made me a chuckle a little
" Thank you" I whispered, knowing deep down she was trying to lighten the mood some. I felt her smile since her head was in between my neck and left shoulder.
" Your mom would be so proud." She whispered
Which only made me smile a little and squeeze her arms a little and not too tightly. We stayed like that until the end of the service. Everyone started to get up to head to my house for the after part of the funeral.
" You gonna be okay?" I heard, I wasn't super alarmed either cause I knew it was her. I just nodded even though I lied but she didn't push it. That's what I like about her cause she knew when not to push me to talk. " Okay, I'll see you guys back at the house." She said, squeezing both mine and Jere's shoulders. I watched her leave with Laurel, Belly and Steven. I took a shaky breath before getting up to leave.
Your POV
I was standing by the food table making two plates, one for each fisher boy. " Hey Y/n/n" Steven said beside me
I turned to glance at him. " Hey, have seen where Jere and Connie went." He looked like he was thinking. " I believe my mom let them got to their rooms after about five minutes down here, but I think I saw Conrad go into the rec room instead." I nodded, " Thanks, Stevie." I teased before carefully carrying two water bottles and two plates upstairs. I knocked on Jere's door first, well more like kicked it. He opened it and I could see his eyes were puffy and red.
"Hey, I thought you would want some food." I softly said
Hey gave me a small smile and took one of the plates and water from me. " Thanks, Y/n/n" Jere whispered before setting the plate down. " Text me if you need anything else." I softly said knowing he didn't want anyone by him at the moment. He just nodded and turned back to lie down.
I started down to the rec room passing his bedroom, I knocked before walking in. I saw him pacing, making me immediately put the plate and water down. " Conrad, hey." I softly said shutting his door and made my way over to him. He looked up to me with watery eyes making me feel horrible and pulled him into my arms. " Hey, I'm here. Okay just breathe." I whispered by his ear
I felt him hug me tighter making me just hold him until he calmed down some. " You want to sit down on the couch." I whispered
He nodded so I pulled away and sat down and waited for him to follow. " Connie..." I whispered, holding my hand out. He took it and let me pull him to the couch. I noticed he was still a little fidgety, " Hey, you want to lie down. Would that help you?" I softly questioned
" You sure you won't be uncomfortable." He whispered I smiled, "I wouldn't have asked if it did. Come on lie down, I can run my hands through your hair. I know how you like that when I do it." I softly said to him
He then just immediately moved to lie down and lie down and rest his head in my lap. I then let my hands run through his already messy hair from when he was tugging on it earlier.
" You know, Connie...your mom will always still be with you. No matter what happens in your life." I softly said moving the hair from his eyes
" Thanks for being here, Y/n/n." He whispered, making his breath hit my legs from the way he was lying down.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We were up there for a while with me just running my fingers through his hair to make sure he stays calm. He was also lightly running one of his hands over in circles on my leg which I didn't mind as long as it was helping him. Then the door opened, making me glance behind me.

" Hey Belly" I softly said and noticed she had a plate in her hand. " Is that for Conrad?" I questioned She nods and just watched the scene in front of her. " Great minds think a like I guess, but um you can set it on the table if you want." I softly said

She didn't move though, until she seemed to snap out of it cause the plate crashed to the ground. " Belly you ok-" I went to ask only to see her rushing out. Then Conrad was chasing after her. I sat there confused, I could hear them arguing, but didn't want to intrude.

Conrad's POV

After watching Belly leave I ran back upstairs ashamed to face the guests after they witnessed my screaming match with Belly. I walked back into the room, "Sorry, Y/n/n." I whispered and didn't know what to say.

" It's fine...I guess she still isn't over you." She whispered while fiddling with the hem of her black dress. I started getting nervous, " Who cares, I'm over her." I said which was true

" Conrad, it's okay if you're not over her. It's not like we were together." She said still avoiding at looking at me I sat next to her even though it was my moms funeral I needed something to feel again. " Y/n please look at me. Please, Y/n/n." I whispered

She glanced my way, I sucked in a breath seeing her eyes. " Believe me, I don't like her anymore." I said

" Do you still love her?" She asked

That question sure hit me a little. " Not in the way you think." I said I hesitated, but took her hands in mine. She didn't pull away. I felt my stomach flutter. I ran my thumb over her knuckles. " Y/n/n..." I whispered

" Yea..." She whispered

I looked over at her, " Do you think we could ever be something?" I heard my mouth ask, She sighed, " Connie don't say things you don't mean." She said I felt frustrated, " Don't do that." I pleaded "Conrad, come on we both know you can never get over Bel-" I stopped her with my lips

She gently pushed me back, " Connie..." She whispered

" I think I was just scared you were gonna regret me so I went with Belly cause I did have a crush on her but it wasn't as big as the one I have for you." She let out a shaky breath, " Maybe you should just let yourself heal first before going back into a relationship." She voiced out

" But I..." I went to say

She put her hands on my cheeks. " Connie I don't want to go into a relationship where you won't be there." " I will be there." I argued back

She sighed, "Physically sure, but I'm talking about mentally being there. You already have enough going on. I just want you to be there hundred percent." She spoke softly

I felt a tear roll down, making her wipe it away with her thumb. "I just want you to work on yourself first. Can you do that for me." She spoke I hated having this conversation, but nodded. " I'll still have you though right." I asked

She smiled, " Of course, I'll always be in your corner." She whispered I nodded and leaned into her for a hug. I felt her arms immediately go around me. I just knew I had to be there for her as well as get better mentally for her.
