...

"I'm nothing," she says it quietly, barely audible to the people around her.
"No, what are you talking about? You are amazing! You're so pretty!" Her friends all rebut, but she doesn't like to hear compliments, it only makes her feel worse. She wants them to admit she's right and move on with their day. They just can't though, it makes them feel like bigger people.
"Name one thing I do right anymore." She's still quiet, as if wanting to hide, which she does. She wants to go away and come back when she's okay.
"You play so well in music! Come on!" One of her friends reaches out, trying to touch her shoulder. She flinches away out of habit, out of muscle memory. Human contact is poison to her. She just wants to be alone anymore.
She ends up shutting her locker and storming out of the group, nuzzling her way through the crowd, then looks up for a spilt second. She's glad she did, in slow motion they made eye contact and concern immediately filled his face as she walked past him.
Little did she know, he stopped and looked at her walk away, wondering what he did wrong. He didn't do anything wrong, the world did.
She cried that night while he drove, he didn't tell her, he just did it, picked up food and cocoa.
Her fingers wiped pain fro her soft cheeks when sound arose down the hall from her room, someone knocking. She sniffled, walking down, wobbling on weak knees. She wanted to be alone, was tired of being lonely. Her parents always busy with working. When she opened the door, her jaw dropped.
"What's wrong baby?" She cried and fell into his open arms. "Come on, let's go sit and you can tell me how I can help."
They sat on her bed, eating McDonald's chicken nuggets and drinking hot cocoa. She cried into her drink and meal, spilling every feeling she ever had. "I feel like nothing, I'm useless. All I do is bring the world down. The world only tears me down with it." She looks down at her hands.
"Sweetheart, please." His voice was soft, sweet. "You're everything, especially to me. I never wanna lose you." She cried more when he pulled her into his arms and embraced her shaking form. "You do so many wonderful things, and you never brought me down once, only made me happier. I promise, you're a beautiful person, inside and out. I love you for that and so much more." He smiled at her, pulling away and wiping her tears.
That night he left late, her parents still working, she fell asleep and he made sure she was okay before leaving, tucking her in.
He planted a kiss on her forehead, then leaving and waiting to see her tomorrow, but he wouldn't. She would make herself sick that night, trying to find a reason to stay home.
She woke up in the middle of the night, unable to breathe or move, when she could, she ran to the bathroom, crying. She couldn't stand herself. She wanted to die more than anything, but she couldn't do that to him, or herself.
She didn't know what held her back until she met him. He kept her alive and well.
The next morning, she kay in bed passed out, her parents barely even noticing she was there. They came, slept for 3 hours then left again.
He was worried sick, trying to go home himself so he could check on her, but to no avail he never made it in time. She never woke up.
