Harry Potter

"We need to do something about Harry and Y/N, they are going to drive me mental I tell you, mental!" Ron exclaimed to Hermione as they entered the Gryffindor Common Room together.
"I know Ronald, but we've got to let them figure it out by themselves, we can't force them into anything they don't wa–," Hermione said before she was interrupted by Ron's ranting.
"No, it is obvious that they want to be together, it's probably just self-denial on both sides. That's what I reckon—speaking of the devils." Ron said the last part in a whisper because you and Harry were entering the common room, hand in hand.
"Hey Ron, hey Hermione, how are you guys?" you said cheerily, with an equally happy smile plastered on your face. You were oblivious to Harry as he glued his green eyes to one side of your face, basking in the rays that your wonderful smile gave off.
"Nothing much, just heaps of homework, as usual," Hermione said with a huff, obviously overworked by the load of assignments the professors gave fourth-year students close to the end of the term. "And to think people are worrying about that stupid Yule Ball," she said in an angry whisper, not wanting to be heard, but you heard her clearly. The mention of the upcoming Yule Ball set off a light bulb in your brain, maybe, just maybe, Harry could be the one to ask you. You decided to drop some hints.
"Oh so who's the lucky girl you're taking to the ball Harry, is it Cho?" you questioned, whilst clutching his arm suggestively. He looked quite flustered as his cheeks began to turn a light shade of crimson.
"Oh, uh no, she's going with Cedric," He said, with a bummed look on his face. Now was your time to act.
"Oh, well that blows, anyone you're going with right now?"
"Oh yeah, um, Ron and I are going with the Patil twins. I'm going with Pavarti. She's nice and all, but, unfortunately, wasn't the girl I wanted to go with."
Now, feeling extremely disappointed you asked, "And who is that if I may ask?"
"Uh, no one, don't worry about it. She's great, though, someday if it does work out between us, I'd love you to meet her. Since you're my best friend after all." He said whilst stuttering profusely. Best friend. That's all you were ever going to be, afraid that your sadness was showing, you quickly changed the subject. Little did you know that Ron and Hermione already noticed.
"Yeah Harry, I hope it works out. Anyways Hermione who are you going with," as soon as you asked her she turned as red as a tomato.
"Uh, well I. No, just. Well," she stuttered uncontrollably while trying to hide her face around her pile of textbooks.
"Oooh... Hermione got a date. Hermione got a date." You said, teasing her in a sing-song voice. Ron immediately became disinterested with his game of wizard chess and soon engaged himself into the conversation.
"You? Hermione? A date? No, that just doesn't add up does it." Said and irritated Ron.
"Well, a matter of fact I do Ronald." Hermione shot back.
"Go on. Who is it then?"
"Its Victor Krum, the quidditch player from Durmstrang School of Witchcraft and Wizardry," She said very proudly.
"Oh, well whatever," Ron muttered, losing his energy immediately only to gain it back in a matter of seconds, "He's probably using you anyways, don't you think he's a bit too old for you, and I thought you were smart Hermione–." He was cut off by a very angry Hermione.
"Shut up Ron! Shut up! Can't you just be happy for me for once! Is that too hard!" She began angrily gathering her things up from the table, preparing to leave, "Oh and, by the way, Ronald, you are not the boss of me." She said the last part filled with venom and stormed out of the common room with you following her, feeling the exact same emotions.

You were staring at the sky at the Astronomy Tower silently with Hermione when you felt a light tap on your shoulder. You turned around, half expecting it to be Harry, only just to see Dean Thomas. Feeling semi-disappointed, you greeted Dean.
"Oh, hey Dean, what's up?"
"Oh, uh nothing much. I just uh, c—came here to ask whether you were going with anyone to the... the... the."
"The Yule Ball?" you interrupted.
"Y—yes."
"Oh! No, I'm not going with anyone Dean, why do you ask?"
"I was just wondering if, uh, you would like to go with me to the Ball. I mean you don't have to because you know, it's your ch–." You interrupted him.
"Dean I would love to go to the Ball with you. Pick me up outside the Gryffindor Common Room by 5 p.m.?"
"Yes!" Trying, and failing to keep calm and collected he ran bak to the castle while fist pumping the air. You were 100% sure he was going to go tell Seamus the news of you accepting his invitation.
"Boys," you sighed, obviously annoyed with the opposite gender.
"I know. Like cmon why are they so confusing. Anyways Y/N?" Hermione questioned
"Yes, Hermione."
"I know you like Harry."
"What!" terrified that your secret was revealed you proceeded to try and make excuses, "What? Me? No, pfft, gross. We're best friends. This is not some cliché love story Hermione. Me and Harry are strictly platonic, we're only friends. Okay, now it's time to head back into the castle. Bye Hermione."
With that, you rushed back into the castle. You rushed back to the girls dormitory to collect your thoughts. You lay down on your bed thinking: What if I do like Harry? You pushed your thoughts to the back of your mind and fell asleep quickly.

The day of the Yule finally approached, and you were as nervous as Neville on his way to Potions class. Your dress came and it was gorgeous. You ordered it from Batilda's Ball Gowns for an expensive price of 30 Galleons! But it was completely worth it as the girls in your dorm room didn't seize to stop staring at it. It was a dazzling strapless blue dress with a black top part that showed off a little bit, but not too much, cleavage. Hermione and yourself took turns doing each other's makeup, and not to brag or anything, but you both looked hot. The two of you walked down to the deserted Gryffindor Common Room and patiently waited for the time where your dates would be picking you up. Jittery girls flooded down from the dormitories, nervous about what their dates would think about their dresses. Soon enough the boys came through their dorm doors. They began approaching and complimenting their dates before they escorted them down to the ballroom. You scanned the crowd for Dean, and once you spotted him, you couldn't lie, he looked dashing, but so did Harry. You pushed the thoughts of how amazing Harry looked in his dress robes to the back of your mind and greeted Dean with a hug and peck on the cheek.
"Hello Y/N, you look gorgeous," Dean said.
"Why thank you Dean, you don't look too bad yourself," you said with a smirk and a subtle wink.
"Shall we start going?" he asked.
"We shall," and with that the two of you intertwined your hands and walk together to the ballroom. What you didn't know was that from the corner of his eye, Harry was looking att the two of you with complete and utter disgust. "It could've been me holding your hand," he thought to himself but was brought out of his thoughts when Parvati called his name and told him to walk to the ballroom with her. So he left, hand in hand, without the girl of his dreams.
You and Dean were having a blast at the ball. You danced and laughed together and when the time came you even drank some pumpkin juice that was tampered with by the Weasley twins. It was one of the best days of your life, you completely forgot about Harry and focused on having fun with your ball date. On the other hand, Harry was having a horrid time. Seeing you have fun with Dean made his blood boil with jealousy. What threw him over the edge was when—was when... you and Dean were about to kiss. It was nearing the end of the ball and people were starting to say goodbye to their dates. After you and Dean said your goodbyes, Dean began to lean closer and his eyes fluttered shut. Your heart began to beat at a quick pace, he was going to be your first real kiss. You were excited and terrified, because cmon, he was cute, you did not want to mess this up. Forgetting about all your fears and worries you mimicked Dean's actions and began to lean forward until you were interrupted by someone coughing unusually close to you.
"Oh, uh—sorry for interrupting your moment here, but Y/N, Professor McGonagall is asking for you in her office," you realized the voice as Harry, "And she asked me to u—uh escort you, yes, she asked me to do just that." With that, he intertwined fingers with you and dragged you out of the ballroom.

"Harry! Harry!" you called his name, but he continued to drag you through the endless corridor of the castle, you tried again, "Harry!", he finally acknowledged you calling him. "What did I do? Am I in trouble with Mrs. McGonagall?"
"Uh no, that part was a lie, I just really want to talk to you about something," he said that while pulling you into a deserted classroom.
"What Harry? I was in the middle of something," you said, clearly irritated.
"I just wanted to tell you that you shouldn't do something that you will regret."
"Like what Harry? Kissing Dean? In case you haven't noticed Harry, you are not the boss of me. I can take care of myself, thank you very much." With that, you tried to leave the room but failed as Harry blocked the doorway.
"I know you don't like him!" now he was screaming.
"Why do you care Harry, you're my best friend, you're supposed to be happy for me!"
"How can I be happy for you, I like you too!"
"Well, I don't ca—wait what? You? Like me?"
"Yes Y/N. Couldn't you tell?"
"What do you mean 'couldn't I tell?', I've been too busy falling head over heels for you."
"Wait, so you like me back?"
"Yes I do Harry," you inched towards him and cupped his cheeks.
"Well if this sorts things out, there was no girl I wanted you to meet. All along it was always you."
With your face centimetres in fron of him, with a smirk on your face, you whispered, "Well I'm glad, because I was about to Avada Kedavra her ass."
Finally closing up the distance in between the two of you, Harry leaned in and captured your lips in a passionate but gentle kiss. He planted his hands on your waist and proceeded to pull you closer towards him until the two of you were rudely interrupted.
"I KNEW IT HERMIONE! I KNEW IT! NOW YOU OWE ME 5 GALLEONS!" Ron exclaimed as he burst through the door.
"Knew what?" you said irritated.
"Ron and I made a deal. He said you and Harry would hook up by tonight, but I voted against it, and now I owe him five galleons," Hermione said in a glum voice.
"How did you even find us?" Harry questioned Ron.
"The Maurauders Map of course. Now I'll let you two go back to your u—uh business." Ron said.
"You better," Harry said while slamming the door in his face. "Now where were we Y/N?"
As soon as he finished his sentence you caught his lips into a deep kiss, which lasted for what seemed to be hours. Let's just say that you two continued to do this until Peeves came springing into the room. Maybe, just maybe, this was a cliché love story.
