You sighed as you leaned your head in your hand as you watched Jack talk to Sally at the door. You had gotten here after the whole Christmas catastrophe. You honestly don't remember how you got here, but you did help get Santa back and out to deliver presents.
There for, you had met Jack and had to stay here, to keep this place a secret. You didn't care really though, you finally got your nose out of a screen and started to be productive. Reading was one of your favorite things to do here. The world's you could go to and ignore everybody. It was amazing. Jack was kind enough to let you stay with him. He gave you a hammock to sleep in but it was comfortable. You two became friends after that. You were a lucky one, to actually have some friends here.
You blew a quiet raspberry as you leaned up and grabbed a book, knowing this was going to take a while.
"Look, I can't make entrance this year. Just give me some time to get back into the gear of things." Jack said sighing as he crossed his arms.
"Look Jack, no one is blaming you for the mess with Santa, but you need to be out there. It's a tradition, plus everyone is planning on coming out just for you." She said tilting her head to the side slightly.
Jack pinched between his eyes and did a big sigh. "I can't, it's not the people, it me. I have embarrassed myself majority and I just need some time to calm down and let it go into the pass." He said with a small sigh.
"That's going to take a while!" You yelled from the back of the room without looking up from your book.
Jack turned to as he narrowed his eyes at you. Sally just looked at you with a 'really' face. As you heard them go quiet, you looked up.
"What? Am I wrong?" You asked shrugging.
"I hate to say this but she is right Sally. It's going to take time." Jack said looking back at Sally.
Sally shook her head and took a deep breath. "Jack..."
"I can't, not this year." He said putting his hand on the door.
"But your the Pumpkin King, they need you to guide them through the holiday." Sally pushed.
Jack gripped the door as his face scrunched up in anger as if something snapped. "Enough about the Pumpkin King! I get it, I haven't forgotten! Not this year, understand!?" He growled with a nasty tone and gritted his teeth.
Your eyes shot up from your book as you looked at Jack with shock. Sally did the same as she stepped back. Jack couldn't take anymore about him being Pumpkin King and having to do as he was told. Everything had to be the same every year! He was getting tired of it. Having to lead the group even though they did just fine last year with out him.
"Whoa.." You let out.
Jack took a second to breathe, his hand still gripping the door. "Look, Jack-"
"Goodbye Sally." Jack said sternly as he shut the door.
Once the door shut, Jack leaned his head on the door with a growl. You just watched as you tried to think of something that would make him feel the slightest of better. You set you book down and got up as you started looking around. There were books stacked everywhere, but there were also torn and shattered Christmas decorations on the floor. You cringed slight, but then an idea popped into your mind.
As he was trying to cool down, you quickly got to your knees and started swiping everything into your arms. Once your arms were full with lights and paper, you went to a bucket that looked like a trashcan and threw everything inside it. You smiled at yourself as you repeated this action.
Pick up
Throw in ben
Easy, well that was until you got to the ornaments, they were shattered everywhere around the area that the tree used to be. You did a small whine as you started to carefully sweep them into a pile. Then, into your hands, surprisingly they didn't cut you. You quickly threw then in the ben and turned around with a proud face. The room was quickly picked up to look like it did before the chaos.
As you admired the room, you looked towards Jack, he was still leaning against the door, mumbling hateful things. That hurt you. You looked around the room once more to find anything and that's when you spotted your backpack.
You haven't opened it since the first month you got here. It sloutched on the floor like a bag of potatoes that had been forgotten. You went to your backpack and opened to see if there was anything in there that could help.
"What about a notebook..." You asked yourself pulling out a notebook.
"No!" You growled throwing the notebook to the side.
"Pencilbag, trash, dead computer,.....dead spider... no!" You said as you continued to throw stuff out of your backpack until you came across a book.
It was called the Pumpkin King. Your eyes widen as you read the title. Instead of a skeleton, there was a guy with a Pumkin on his head and a suit. They got some of it right but not all.
Once you heard the Jack was the Pumpkin King, it hit you hard, but you didn't remember why at the time. You had totally forgotten you read about him or, what you thought was true about him.
As you looked at the cover, something was moving in the corner of your eye. You slowly moved your head to the side and saw Jack narrowing his eyes at the book. He was bent down to your level of crouching. You just stared at him with a cocked eyebrow.
"They knew?" He asked as he snatched the book and stood up.
"Oh shit." You mumbled as you stood up yourself.
"Well, kinda but it's just story. They didn't know you were actually real." You said you reached for the book.
Jack flipped through the pages as he went to the fire place. "Is that so?" He asked as he read some of the pages.
"Yeah, just stories in my town. Can you give me my book back now?" You asked.
Jack turned another page. Pumpkin King was typed in bold letters as it described how he came to life for the day. His eys narrowed some more as he flipped another page. There it was again.
"Pumpkin King.." He mumbled.
Another page was turned.
"Pumpkin King..."
"Oh no. Jack, just give me the book." You said trying once again to grab the book but failed due to his tallness.
"Why does every one think.." him getting to frustrated he stopped talking as slammed the book shut and chucked it in the fireplace.
You just had a blank face on. "Really?" You asked looking up at him as the book turned into ashes very quickly.
He just shot you a glare before he looked away. "Look Jack, I know your upset, but you gotta do something about it. Yes your king but, you don't have to act like you're in charge all the time." You said crossing your arms.
"That doesn't change anything, it's the same damn thing each year!" He snarled.
"Well, it doesn't have to be, you can change it. No one telling you not to." You said shrugging.
Jack shot you a glare. "You don't think I have tried. Look at the past year with Santa Clause. I did try to change itand it fail worse then I could possibly thought it would" He said with a cold and low tone.
You let out a small sigh. "Okay, I'm sorry, but dreading on one thing you messed up ain't going to help you, you got to stop living in the past Jack." You said shaking your head seriously.
Jack leaned against the wall and put his face in his hands. "Do you even know how how hard it is to do that." He muffled into his hands as he slid to the floor and buried his head to his knees.
It went silent from there. You trying to think of what to do and him just letting everything out. Maybe that is what he needs you thought as you went over to him and sat down next to him.
"Oogy boogie almost killed Santa and ruined Halloween because of my mistake. I just wanted something new for a change. Not the same year repeating over and over again. You get tired once you have relived a day for the passed century." He mumbled with a low tone.
"Well, I mean, this year will be completely different I am pretty sure rather you want to admit it or not." You said with a shrug.
Jack raised his head and looked at you with a cocked bonebrow. "What on Earth could you mean by that?" He asked.
You looked out the window without moving from your place. "I mean, you have Sally and me this year. You didn't have that last year I think. And if it's something different you want then there is no reason you can't ask us for help." You said your eyes dragging back from the huge moon to him.
Jack sat there for a second as he let that sink in. "I...I could ask you...couldn't I?" He asked quietly as a smile slowly started to form on his face.
"Yeah." You said with a chuckle.
Jack quickly stood up a yanked you off the ground to spin you. You did a loud yelp as you clinged on to him. "You and your smart brain. I couldn't of done it without it." He said as he stopped spinning dwelt on that thought.
You gripped on to his suit as you looked up at him. "Yeah your welcome, now can you set me down. You are really fucking tall." You said as you looked at the way he was holding you.
He had you in a bridal style with you pressed into his chest. You could feel your eyes widen and your cheeks start to turn a faded pink as you realized the situation.
You could practically see his whole face sparkle as he looked down at you. You just gave him a nervous chuckle. "This year, we could add something different, something they would never expect...but what." Jack asked as he looked to the side as if he was thinking.
"I want down." You whined drawing Jack's attention to you.
As his eyes landed on you, he stopped as an idea popped in to your mind. Your eyes met each other as you smiled. "I have an idea." You said with a chuckle.
"What is it?" Jack asked.
"Why should the King hold Halloween without a Queen?" You asked.
Jack looked at you as a huge grin appeared on his face. "Yes, that a wonderful idea! A Queen." He smiled.
Jack could feel him stop at that question as rethinked it. He looked at you as his thoughts scattered his mind. You be his Queen? What? He had tooken a very strong liking to you, but really never noticed it until now. He could feel himself smile as he opened his mouth.
"Sally could be your Queen this year." You smile as you lifted your legs down and landed on the floor.
Jack stopped. "S...Sally?" He asked.
You chuckled. "Yeah why not, I know you're totally to her." He said pointing at him with finger guns and winked.
"She could be riding with you and have her arms wrapped around your waist an-"
Jack was shocked. He didn't want....It to be Sally. He wanted it to be you even if it was just temporary. He couldn't really control his response. It wasn't a very thought out response either.
"I don't want it to be Sally." He bluntly said as he stopped you in your rant.
"W-what? Why not? Did you not have feelings for her?" You asked with a very confused tone.
You thought it was Sally. They way they acted together down in Oogies torture room. It looked like a knight saving his princess, which pained you a little since you took a liking to the Skeleton. You have been here for over a year and it just kept getting worse.
"She is a friend and only a friend." Jack said sternly.
"Okay..? Do you still want to have a Queen in the parade thingy?" You asked cocking your head.
"Yes, but I had different person in mind." He said as he grabbed his arm and looked away like a shy little boy.
You noticed this and laughed. "Its okay to have someone else you like. It's not a big deal. Who is it." You asked with a chuckle.
Jack took a deep breath. "Y..You. Can you the one who is my Queen for the celebration?" He asked and looked at you with a small smile.
You still had a smile on your face as you looked at him. "What?" You asked with disbelief.
"You... You should be my Queen. We could dress you up as a Skeleton and a matching outfit. It's perfect. I don't know why I was so nervous." He laughed as and quickly went to his closet.
He started digging through to see what he had. "I can the sew the dress if I had to. I can pull this off. Yes, it is absolutely a wonderful plan you had came up with."
"Jack, I don't think you understand completely what I'm trying to say." You spat out after you calmed down some.
"Is there something you needed to add?" He asked as he turning around.
"I mean, this whole thing was your plan in the first place." He smiled as excitement started to fill him.
He went to you and bent to one knee to your level. "Jack.. The thing is...The reason I suggested it was because It was a chance for you to actually get a Pumpkin Queen, not role playing." You said looking him straight in the eyesockets.
"Wait..You were attempting to to actually find me a real queen?" He asked as his smile dropped slightly.
"Yeah, you look kinda lonely up here and you also need someone around to keep you line when you mess up." You said.
Jack just stared at you as it just his him. "Oh..." He let out as embarrassment started to fill him.
"If it was temporary and just an act, then yeah, I would totally do it. But Sally, I think you and her should give it a try. I know she loves you more then a friend. That is why I am trying to hook her up with you." You said with a smile.
"That would mean the Queen would be with me even after the celebration, right?" He asked.
"Yup." You said.
Jack looked at you before he let out a chuckle. He put his long slender finger under your chin and made you look at him as his face got closer to yours.
"I would rather have you as my real Queen then." He said.
You looked at him as your face flushed red. You pit your lip and did a the smallest squeal. "Are you sure?" You asked.
"Why would I have said it if I wasn't. Ever since you came, you have kept me in line and I have grown attached to you. So, do you accept my offer?" He asked.
You let out a chuckle. "Of course, how how could I say no to you." You said shaking your head.
Jack couldn't contain his excitement as he quickly wrapped his arm around you and pulled you into a huge hug. "I will have Queen. The Pumpkin King will have a Queen!" He yelled smiling.
You just laughed and hugged back. "I am happy for you Jack." You said through chuckle.
He pulled you away from him as he looked dead into your eyes. "You have a plan for this, am I correct?" He asked.
You looked at him before looking at the floor to think for a second. That's when an idea was popped into your head and a smirk started to emerge.
"I do have a plan, but I will have to show you the ending part." You said with a devilish smile.
"Well, show me and I will try to repeat it." He said.
"Alright. This is call a kiss." You said.
Jack stopped for a second. He knew what that was. "Wait? What!" He asked but before he knew it, your lips were on his mouth.
He could feel his heart/soul or whatever he had beat faster then a werewolf howl.
You pulled back and smiled. "What do you think?" You asked as you face burned.
"I.." He started. He had no words to explain how it felt.
You chuckled. "I mean, we don't have to do if you don't want to." You said with smug in your voice.
"No, no, I like it, I... can I try again though?" He asked.
You let out another laugh. "Sure, I mean I did say we had to practice it." You said wrapping your arms around his neck.
"I am pretty sure you were ment to be here." He said as his hands wrapped around your waist.
"I mean, maybe. But I am definitely glad I am." You smile.
He smile back and without another word, slammed his mouth back on yours, but just left his mouth there. "Is this right?" He asked into your lips. You couldn't help but laugh as you pulled away and cover your mouth as you laughed.
"What did I do wrong?" He asked cocking his head.
"You are actually suppose to kiss me. You just left your mouth there." You laugh.
"Oh.. how do I do that?" He ask as he scooted you closer to him.
"Guess this is what practice is for. Just do what I do." You said calming down.
Jack watched as you out you put your mouth on his and pushed into the kiss. Jack watched as you closed your started to go passionate into the kiss. He decided to try as he copied your actions. He closed his eyes and pushed into the kiss.
He must of did something right as you pushed harded into him. I think this practice is going to go longer then he thought,
But he did not mind what so ever since you were going to be...
His lovely Queen...
