In the Russian film, Athos sings a song in which he explains his past connection with the sinister Milady Winter. This is my recreation with the characters as animals.
D'artangan is the squirrel, his expression somewhat unnerved by Athos's ominous tone yet curious also, willing to hear the rest of Milady's mysterious past.
Athos is the wolf who, pausing in his song, takes time to idly blow out a candle, extinguishing the past before he terminates the song. His expression is somewhat wistful, bitter and nostalgic; he stares into the remaining candles, seeing Milady's face flicker within the dancing flames.
