BBC Merlin character

Name: Aithlin
Gender: Male
Age: Twenty
Sexuality: Heterosexual asexual
Ethnicity: English
Rank/role/occupation: Stable lad. He tends to Prince Arthur's horses specifically
Where they live/habitat: Nowhere. He can't afford a place to live at the moment, for his payment is meagre at best
Uses magic or not: Yes. He's a skilled sorcerer, as his father and mother were. Magic flows through his family, so he inherited the ability to wield it
Appearance: He's a considerably tall, pretty skinny young male with extremely pale skin. He doesn't have a ferocious appetite, which explains his low weight, but he's very agile and fast, though he can't boast of much physical strength at all. His face is thin and pointed, with quite prominent cheekbones, and his hair is short, somewhat spiky, and is dark brown. He has vibrant green eyes, which are lined with hazel around the pupil. He tends to wear casual clothing. His usual garb is grey trousers, a black long sleeved shirt, with a long cream coloured, thick, woollen scarf, and a belt round his thin middle which usually holds the items he uses for tending and grooming the horses. He likes this choice of clothing, as it's comfortable, and particularly useful for camouflage whilst hiding in dark areas
Personality: He's certainly an introvert and is likely to stutter whilst talking to random strangers; he will grow uneasy and apprehensive. However, with the people he knows, he can be very confident and chatty, open and enjoy himself. He's incredibly intelligent, observant and perceptive; things don't usually escape him and his mind is always whirring with ideas and thoughts. He's witty and doesn't tend to show respect to authority figures or even the royals, never quite willing to submit. He's smart in arguments and usually comes out top with his sharp, witty remarks. Likewise, he's humorous and can usually take a joke and certainly knows how to make them. However, he isn't stupid and knows when to keep his mouth shut...normally. Though he may appear as a coward, Aithlin is actually very brave and will do anything to keep his beliefs safe and to protect those he loves: he's just not a brash, foolhardy idiot, and he does rather value his life . Likewise, he's generous and always willing to assist. However, he can be rather manipulative and sneaky, not always abiding to the rules. He's also very skeptical, and can use sarcasm to his advantage
Skills: Unable to boast of strength, Aithlin is instead very agile, fast and his intelligence is high. He prefers to use wit rather than brawn in fights or arguments. His magic is a skill, though he's extremely cautious, for he understands the dangers of using it haphazardly. He's also a skilled horse rider, and has a curious, natural affinity with animals
Flaws/weaknesses: He's lacking of physical strength, and doesn't have that much stamina, to be honest. He has a slight intolerance to alcohol: even a small amount can cause him to be tipsy, and too much can make him rather ill. Also, his reserved personality makes it hard for him to find and make friends. Due to an illness in his childhood, Aithlin still suffers from mild health complications. He's also prone to anxiety
Backstory: Aithlin was born in the village of Godamin, to two sorcerers. His younger sister was born five years after, yet she was not possessive of magic. Due to the prejudice against sorcery, Aithlin and his parents were forced to suppress their powers, which was hard for Aithlin as he was merely a child. One day, when Aithlin was walking in the forest, gathering firewood, he saw a curious old lady, and she was surrounded by the King's soldiers. Hiding behind a tree, the youth watched in horror as they slew the lady, and when he, in anguish, reprimanded them for it, the soldiers replied that she was a sorceress, and therefore was worthy only of death. Utterly stricken, the boy returned, vowing never to reveal his own magical powers, and he was terrified. Years later, Aithlin's parents begun to argue, until they could not stand the sight of one another. It was hard for Aithlin and his sister, for they believed that their parents would love each other for ever, and they felt betrayed and wounded by this arguing. Eventually, the parents lived in separate houses within the village, and life continued on. Aithlin became nineteen, and his sister turned fifteen. One fateful day, a vengeful, escaped dragon attacked the village, burning each house, and slaying the citizens. Only Aithlin escaped, or so he believed. Badly burnt, and suffering multiple gashes inflicted by the dragon, Aithlin was forced to leave his smouldering home, and travelled to Camelot, to seek out his fortune there. Again, he vowed that he would never reveal his magical powers. Upon arriving at Camelot, Aithlin managed to shelter in the royal stables, for then it was nighttime, and raining hard. One of the horses, a black stallion, was suffering from severe colic, and Aithlin felt overwhelming sympathy for the horse. In that moment, Aithlin used his magic furtively to heal the horse, unable to stand it's suffering. Exhausted, he fell asleep, and awoke in the morning to find Prince Arthur glaring at him. Aithlin explained how he was new to Camelot and had sheltered in the stable from the rain. He then resumed about how one horse had colic, and then he reprimanded the prince for not taking proper care of his steeds. Arthur was curious about the young male, and decided to appoint his as the head stable lad. Aithlin, not having much choice, accepted the rank, and tends to Arthur's horses, whilst sometimes assisting the physician Gaius when Merlin isn't around in Camelot
Other: Nothing yet
