So I don't think I'm going to be ranting anytime soon (unless I seriously have to). I'm just going back to telling what annoys/what I hate on Wattpad. And I'm just picking up where I left off.

So put it simply, I hate the bad boys trope that people use in their stories.

I feel like it's also a popular trope, too, since everywhere I go, I see books with either the blurb of their stories including the words 'bad boy' or the tags of their story having #badboy, or even having the words 'bad boy' or something relating to bad boy in their titles.

Reason why I hate the bad boys trope is because people who use it, make bad boys so abusive and toxic and just downright assholes. Like, why you gotta over-demonize guys and make them bad boys all the damn time?

While some people may have a soft spot for this topic and enjoy reading them, and there are some books out there who execute the bad boy trope good, there are just some who just over demonize males and make them bad boys...

Like, you do know that bad boys aren't the only types of boys, right? Whatever happened to the goofy and smart boys? The kind and cinnamon roll guys? Practical and loyal guys? Smart ass guys? All I'm saying is that people think "oh, let's make the male love interest a bad boy so that he'll be more hotter and more readers will root for him and it will make the story interesting!" A guy doesn't need to be a bad boy to be attractive or to make a girl swoon over him 🙄😑

Not to mention that people make bad boys this persona: like to curse, acts like an asshole, sexy devil, a womanizer, is all about fucking that dinkleberry, and gets turned on when he realizes that the female protagonist is a virgin and tries to take her virginity

No. Just no 🤦🏻‍♀️ bad boys trope is so overrated. And it's getting real boring now.
