Okay. The ESC finale is today, and what’s a better way to get in the mood than listening to the best songs this year whilst ranting about it?

I’m a little but disappointed this year. I found most songs in semi 1 good, but semi 2 really let me down. Some songs were decent, some were good and some were absolutely horrendous.

There were so many songs in semi 1 I wanted to vote for but I couldn’t. You see, you can only vote in the semi your own country is in, for some weird reason. And as Sweden was in semi 2, I had to leave the other folks whose countries were in semi 1 to decide. I hate that rule so much, it’s unfair as like 90% of the actual good songs were in semi 1.

Anyway, now I’m in the mood to make a top ten :)

Oh. This song. It’s beautiful. They sing so quietly, yet it holds so much power. The lyrics are well-written. It holds so much meaning and whenever I listen to it I just get a good feeling. It’s probably one of the best songs I’ve ever heard. Rooting for ya, MARO <3

(Just for a perspective - Hold Me Closer and Jezebel are the only ones from semi 2 in this list, and I couldn’t even vote for Hold Me Closer since it’s Sweden’s song)
