I saw a local production of In The Heights yesterday!!!

And like...I completely forgot how much I loved this show. I've been obsessed with Dear Evan Hansen lately, as well as some other stuff, so I kinda stopped listening to ITH as much. Boy, was that a mistake.

The show was amazing, btw. It was only a college production, so it wasn't quite at the level of a full-on professional production or anything, but it was still really good!!

There's the set!!

Aghhh I just loved it so much. The actors and actresses were all fantastic.

4 very important things that I feel you should know:

1. Their Carla was tiny and adorable and I loved her. She was literally almost a full head shorter than Daniela. And she looked so happy and proud when she said, "I'm Chileeeee...dominicurican!"

2. Usnavi had a lil ponytail. Plus his acting was just...aaaaaaaaa. He looked like he was gonna cry when he started talking about his parents in "Hundreds of Stories" and he actually started sniffling during "Alabanza." I wanted to hug him.

3. Vanessa...guys, Vanessa was amazing. Her voice was so strong and rich and just...so!!! good!!! I loved her so much!!! Once during "It Won't Be Long Now" she let the boys get really close and then she suddenly shoved one of them and they all fell like dominoes.

4. The piraguero was just such a happy ray of sunshine omg. He was almost always smiling whenever he was onstage, and he danced around a lot during "Carnaval Del Barrio." You could tell that he was just having such a good time.

I would talk about each and every character if I could but I don't wanna ramble on forever. Just know that they were all awesome. It was a soul-cleansing experience.
