This is the first time bowser actually dies. No fake outs, no assumptions that he could have survived. He hits the groud, freezes and shatters. Signifying his death.

9.The Endless Stairs in Super Mario 64.

An endless way of stairs with creepy music. While now it's easy to do, it was something hard and disturbing for your first time.

8. Bowletta and Cackletta's Soul in Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga.

The battle with a possessed bowser was bad enough. But having to smash the heart of the being doing it is kinda disrupting.

7.The River Twygz in Super Paper Mario.

I think it's kinda obvious about this one. Voices speaking backwards as background music and hands trying to grab you underwater.

6.Giant Baby Bowser in Yoshi's Island.

Trying to stop a giant baby bowser from knowing you into the abyss is enough to clarify it.

5.Elder Princess Shroob's Transformation from Mario and Luigi: Partners in Time.

Elder Princess Shroob Transforms into a more monstrous form as somewhat depressing music is heard.

4.Bowser Battle in Mario Party 10.

This features the first time bowser dies in a graphic way as you haft to hear him yell in pain as he's burned alive. Then he's killed again as dry bowser as his remains explode.

3.Shadow Queen Battle in Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door.

Possession of peach, the world bring plunged into darkness and the audience members getting devoured. Shadow Queen's battle had all of that.

2.The Destruction of the Universe and Sacrifice of the Lumas in Super Mario Galaxy.

The destruction of bower's reactor brough the universe to the brink of destruction. And to make it more darker. We get to watch to Lumas die. Enough said.

1.The Original Game Over Screen to Luigi's Mansion.
