What's up everyone it's Mario and Sonic fanboy here and today we're going to be doing top 5 matchups I wanna see on Death Battle season 9. Now before we get started this is all my opinion so anyways without further a do let's get started.

5. Riku VS Meta Knight (Kingdom Hearts VS Kirby)

Now before we get into this I want to go over Riku and Meta Knight's other matchups. Yoda VS Meta Knight is trash I'm sorry but it's just simply trash like that fight makes no sense whatsoever the only connections they have is that their small characters who fight on the side of light fighting darkness I am so glad that Yoda ended up fighting King Mickey because he makes much more sense for Yoda than Meta Knight does. Zero VS Meta Knight is okay but honestly I don't think it's Meta Knight's best at all. Like the only connections I can think of is that both started off as evil but ultimately turned to the side of good and are considered equal to the protagonists, that's it other than that though it makes no sense on top of that Zero already fought his best, his best being Metal Sonic so there's no reason for him to come back. Riku VS Sasuke Uchiha is interesting but honestly it does make less sense in a way and much like with Zero, Sasuke already fought his best which is Hiei so no need for him to come back. So why people want Sasuke to fight Riku and not Hiei despite the fact that Sasuke exists thanks to Hiei is beyond me. Riku VS Cecil Harvey is okay it's kinda meh to be honest like I do not understand that MU. But anyways despite what most people might say Riku VS Meta Knight is more interesting and is the best MU for both so yeah let's get to the connections.

The connections between Riku and Meta Knight is that both are edgy anti-heroes who are powerful users of darkness who walk on the line between good and evil who started off as enemies before turning to the good side. Both are rivals to the series main protagonists who are the chosen ones (Sora and Kirby, respectively) and battle them on a few occasions, both also are masters with their swords (the Way to the Dawn, Soul Eater, and Braveheart for Riku and Galaxia for Meta Knight) and swing them at a fast pace, both hide in the shadows to battle enemies and help the heroes. Both are apart of organizations of light (Guardians of Light and Star Warriors, respectively) who battle villains of darkness (Master Xehanort and Nightmare, respectively) and much more. Both have evil doppelgängers (Riku Replica and Dark Meta Knight, respectively) and finally both have covered their faces while hiding in the shadows (Riku blinded himself for an entire year while Meta Knight always wears his signature mask).

There's a lot more connections than what I've just but I'm not going to get into it let's go over who wins and why. I think Meta Knight wins this with no problem. To be fair though it is an extremely close match, Riku is most certainly more verity than Meta Knight thanks to a verity of magic spells like the with so many abilities he can use elemental spells like water, wind, fire, ice, and lightning which keyblade welders shoot out and weaponize them to create tornadoes and a barrage of attacks, he can also poison his foes put them to sleep shrink them, heal his own wounds, fire beams of light, and can stop time so Riku has so much in his arsenal he can easily use to overwhelm Meta Knight and even if is magic runs out it can replenish, so Riku definitely had the advantage in magic, versatility, and hax, however even with that against him Meta Knight still wins this more often than not. Let's get down to numbers. So Roxas's heart was able to travel to Radiant Garden and physically come back to Keyblade Graveyard in seconds. To move that fast he's have to move more than 170,000,000 times faster than light.

Sora was also able to move much faster by firing Keyblade beams at several stars, which is impressive however Meta Knight can move much faster he can keep up with Kirby who hit a meteor so hard he sent it flying 9999 light years into space.

On top of that Meta Knight can fly across galaxies in seconds which means he can travel up to 100,000 light years and to make matters worse Meta Knight can keep up with Kirby's Warp Star which can fly across the edge of the universe.

3 of these feats are WAY faster than what Riku can possibly do. Keyblade Welders like Hercules and Zeus can move hundreds of stars however Meta Knight survived a black hole which was able to collapse an entire dimension MUCH greater than what Riku's been through. Now you can make the argument that Riku scales to Xehanort with the X-Blade however I can say the same thing with Meta Knight especially with Void Termina. Riku may have more OP magic powers but thanks to the speed differences he won't be able to land a hit on Meta Knight as Meta Knight won't give Jim's the time of day for Riku to land an attack or even give enough time to replenish Riku's magic even if Riku can get a hit in he'll have a hard time trying to land a fatal blow, therefore Meta Knight's speed, power, and durability will be too much for Riku. Guess Riku doesn't have the key needed to win this fight too-Knight. This is a really interesting fight and the fact that it's not popular is very disappointing especially since all the arguments on why it's bad have been debunked or just outright stupid.

4. Darth Vader VS Obito Uchiha (Star Wars VS Naruto)

After seeing Obi-Wan and Kakashi fight I think it's no contest that Darth Vader and Obito should do the same now let's get on to the connections.

The connections between Darth Vader and Obito is that they are both masked villains with several lost and replaceable body parts who prior once great heroes of their time of their youth, both are also orphans who lost their parents. Both have fought alongside their close friends (Obi-Wan Kenobi and Kakashi Hatake, respectively) in battle such as in great wars (The Clone Wars and the Third Shinobi World War, respectively) and both have dreams of peace (Anakin wanted to bring balance to the Force and Obito wanted to become Hokage to bring peace in the world) however after the deaths of women they loved (Padmé Amidala and Rin Nohara, respectively) they fell to the dark side and are manipulated by the series main antagonists (Emperor Palpatine and Madara Uchiha, respectively) and adopted new names as well as masks), they are also leaders of villain organizations (The Galactic Empire and Akatsuki, respectively) and as a result began another great war in their universes (The Galactic Civil War and the Fourth Shinobi World War, respectively) both are eventually redeemed by the series main protagonists (Luke Skywalker and Naruto Uzumaki, respectively) who are also the light counterparts of the two, and finally both died redeeming themselves and atoning for their sins and entrusting the future of their universes to the protagonists as the heroes would go on to complete the dreams they once had.

Now let's go over who wins and why. I'm going to have to say Darth Vader wins and here's why. But before we go into it I just have to say it's much closer than people make it out to be especially with Ten Tails Obito. Now I know some of you are thinking Obito can't use it but if you saw Madara VS Aizen they gave Madara his Ten Tails Jinchuriki form Hell in the battle itself they had Madara summon Ten Tails in order to become it's Jinchuriki so they'll definitely do the same thing here with Obito. But anyways Obito is more haxed than Vader I just have to get this out of the way his skills and ninjutsu would make for a pretty great fight and the Kamui can allow him to phase through attacks, and with Ten Tails he has the Truth Seeker Orbs which he can use to weaponize then however he pleases. However despite this Vader's Force power is too much for Obito to handle, first of genjutsu won't work on Vader because Jedi and Sith have resisted mind hax abilities before. Second Vader is faster than Obito I used to think it was the other way around however after further research it's not the case here.

Based on the calculations here this means Vader can move up to 333 times faster than light, even if we scale Obito to the Raikage and say he's faster thanks to the Ten Tails's power and use the highest calc of 72 times light speed, Vader is still roughly 4 times faster than Obito meaning that using Kamui won't work either, even if he does take him with the Kamui, Vader can use the Force to stop it from happening like crushing it or something. Also the Rinnegan can't absorb the Force, despite what Death Battle said I've debunked the claim that absorbing ninjutsu means he can absorb spiritual energy yes they both have spiritual energy but the spiritual energy in Naruto is more physical and has never been to absorb actual spiritual energy. Also despite having Ten Tails power he's not as strong as Naruto, Sasuke, Madara, or Kaguya who are planetary and theoretically above even if we say he is Luke defeated a foe who had the power of multiple stars.

We can support this because George Lucas himself said that Luke was someone Vader would have became and on top of that before he was Vader, Anakin was able to move the Sun and the Moon and Luke is as powerful as multiple supernovas. Much more powerful than what Obito would scale to. Now I know some of you guys might say that Obito can use the Truth Seeking Orbs to destroy Vader as they can destroy and negate everything but that is not truth. First off they were only stated to negate ninjutsu and sense Vader has no ninjutsu He won't be negated.

Second of all characters weaker than him like Sakura got stabbed by a Truth Seeking Orb and she was just fine thanks her healing.

Thirdly the only reason why the Edo Hokage couldn't heal or regenerate is because their bodies are made of chakra and ninjutsu.

Star Wars characters have been stabbed before and with Force Healing they can heal themselves just fine so the claim of Truth Seeking Orbs destroying Vader is complete bullshit, sure if Obito slices his arm or leg of it might be a different story but overall it's going to take more than a Truth Seeking Orb to bring Vader down but unfortunately for Obito, he lacks the speed, power, durability and Force techniques to do this. And this means Darth Vader wins. I honestly want to see this because this would be a great dark counterpart for Obi-Wan VS Kakashi.

4. Scarlet Witch VS Zatanna Zatara (Marvel VS DC)

With Scarlet Witch being officially confirmed as one of the next combatants on Death Battle I think it's safe to say she is more likely to fight Zatanna and I hope it's the case. Now I already see you guys typing "Oh not this again not another Marvel VS DC fight!" "This is basically Doctor Strange VS Doctor Fat but women!" Which okay but still it would be hype to se this happening and while I do agree this is basically Strange VS Fate it's still a awesome MU. So let's get to the connections.

The connections between Scarlet Witch and Zatanna are that they are comic book sorceresses that can conjure many magical spells and reality warping abilities, both are daughters to someone who are just as powerful as they are (Magneto and Giovanni Zatara, respectively), both are members of several superhero teams (The Avengers and the X-Men for Scarlet Witch and the Justice League and the Justice League Dark for Zatanna), both also have love interests (Vision and John Constantine, respectively).

Those are all I can find but once this becomes an official Death Battle I'm sure they'll go into more details so anyways let's take a look at who wins. Oof this is a tough one and would possibly be one of the closest matchups in Death Battle history due to both have so much variety of magic they could easily have ways to kill the other in multiple ways. Like when it comes to their magic abilities both can manipulate the elements, teleport, read minds, use telekinesis, create barriers, and even time travel. Time travel..... sounds familiar...

Anyways. However I'm going to have to say that Scarlet Witch wins this no problem. Sure if given the chance Zatanna could just cast spells that can sent back at Wanda or she could just manipulate her size and crush or she can just completely wipe her mind I'm sure there are many was Zatanna could win this however Scarlet Witch takes this more often than not because everything Zatanna can do, Wanda can do it too, Wanda can age her to death, disable her and counter any technique Zatanna throws at her. As for attack potency and speed both are pretty even as like most Marvel and DC characters they've battled foes who are multiverse and and can keep up with foes with immersible speed so it really comes down to who can outhax the other and from what I researched Scarlet Witch seems to have much more powerful hax than Scarlet Witch. Both characters overall have impressive magic abilities and Zatanna is certainly smarter and a better fighter but Scarlet Witch's superior magic, and counters would give her an edge she can literally erase Zatanna and I just think her cosmic powers magic is too much for her. This is a close fight and it would be a crime if this fight doesn't become official.

2. Emperor Palpatine VS Master Xehanort (Star Wars VS Kingdom Hearts)

Oh ho yeah now this is the good stuff. Palpatine VS Xehanort the ultimate villain version of Yoda VS King Mickey. Whereas Yoda and King Mickey is about wise old leaders of the light side Palpatine and Xehanort are about two old villain masterminds of the dark side. Now let's get to the connections.

The connections between Palpatine and Xehanort is that they are black clad antagonist leaders and are powerful and intelligent warriors for their old age on the dark side of an endless war between the light and the darkness who wield blades unique to their universes (The Lightsaber and Keyblade, respectively), both actually used to be good guys, until they had a massive lust for power. (Political for Palpatine and ACTUAL power for Xehanort) They also really don't know how to stay dead. Both are the founders of villain organizations (The Galactic Empire and Organization XIII, respectively), both also train young students who they would later manipulate into turning to the dark side (Anakin Skywalker and Terra, respectively) and are responsible for many deaths in prequel eras before the events of the original series and both gain large amounts of power (The Force Storm and Kingdom Hearts respectively) and seek to conquer their universes before being stopped by the series main protagonists (Luke Skywalker and Sora, respectively), both eventually died in battle.

Time to see who wins. Xehanort takes the biggest W while unfortunately for Palpatine he takes the biggest L. Palpatine is definitely one of the most powerful and dangerous Sith in the universe but the Force was no match for the Darkness. First of even if Palpatine could make Xehanort lose all his magic abilities their isn't much he can do before it can start to replenish also the Force isn't limitless either as too much strain has been shown to kill Force users before regardless of their Jedi or Sith, also Xehanort has much more magic powers that Palpatine doesn't have like he's never been shown resistance to stoping time or anything like that it's just simply too much for him. And the speed difference is very clear. Roxas traveling from Radiant Garden to Keyblade Graveyard which is roughly 170,000,000 times faster than light is is more than 51,726 times faster than what Palpatine scales to which is 333 times light speed and Sora's Keyblade beam to the stars makes it much worse as it's even 47,347,347 times faster. Palpatine stood no chance in the speed department. And as for power Hercules moving hundreds of stars is a lot greater than moving supernovas. Even with his ultimate abilities like the Force Storm, Sidious's power output pales in comparison and once Xehanort uses the Kingdom Hearts it would be truly game over. Thanks to the X-Blade he can summon Kingdom Hearts and use it for greater amounts of power to obliterate Palpatine, but even if you take away the Kingdom Hearts and the X-Blade, Xehanort still completely overpowers him more times to count. Either way ultimately Xehanort would be the victor. I hope the fight is 3D model like the DBX was that would be great.

Azula VS Dabi (Avatar VS My Hero Academia)

The connections between Azula and Dabi is that their both evil socialpaths who are intelligent yet have anger problems and can generate blue flames, both are the siblings of good brothers with scars on the left side of their faces (Zuko and Shoto Todoroki, respectively), both have a deep hatred towards their parents for not loving them enough and playing favorites with their other siblings (Ursa and Endeavor respectively) which caused them to be who they are today, both grew up in upper class families that houses evil and abusive father, caring mothers who disappeared from their lives, normal siblings, and scared siblings.

Who I think wins: Dabi

Liu Kang VS Jago (Mortal Kombat VS Killer Instinct)

The connections between Liu Kang and Jago is that both are powerful warriors orphaned at a young age before being taken in by the Shaolin who trained them in martial arts. Both were the chosen one of their series and fought many opponents and finally defeated the big bad (Shao Kahn and Gargos) both have fiery that take the the form of creatures (Dragon and Tiger, respectively) and both have powerful transformations (Fire God Liu Kang and Shadow Jago, respective) that require the fusion of lightning user entities (Raiden and Omen, respectively)

Tanjiro Kamado VS Hyakkimaru (Demon Slayer VS Dororo)

The connections between both Tanjiro and Hyakkimaru is that their both teenagers who live in an ancient era of Japan before the modern era (Taisho era and Sengoku era) who suffered tragic lives which caused them to become demon slayers while being accompanied by a little sister figure (Nezuko Kamado and Dororo) slaying demons with goals (Tanjiro wants to turn Nezuko back into a human and Hyakkimaru wants to get his original body back) and have unique abilities with their swords (Breathing and demonic limbs) both their families also have some sort connections with the Demons they were hunted in their life (Kamado family and Daigo family, respectively) and vows to get revenge on the main villains who caused them and their family pain and suffering (Muzan Kibutsuji and Kagemitsu Daigo, respectively). Both also have anime adaptations that aired in 2019.

Who I think wins: Tanjiro Kamado

Now that the honorable mentions are done let's go on to number one.

1. Bowser VS Dr. Eggman (Mario VS Sonic)

Hell yeah two of the most iconic video game villains of all time. This one is likely going to be one of the best Death Battles in Death Battle history. Now before we get into the connections let's get into their other MUs. Bowser VS Ganondorf and Dr. Eggman VS Dr. Wily are without a doubt pretty good and decent MUs I just wish the episodes themselves would've done them justice but that's a story for another time. Time for the connections.

The connections between Bowser and Dr. Eggman is that their both 2 of the most iconic video game villains of all time with goofy and sometimes serious personalities who want to rule their worlds with an iron fist, both are the archenemies of the series most iconic video game protagonists (Mario and Sonic the Hedgehog, respectively) both are known to be kidnappers of pretty much anyone (Princess Peach and the animals, respectively) both are the fathers of their respective second in commands (Bowser Jr and Metal Sonic, respectively) of their armies (The Koopa Kingdom and Eggman Empire, respectively) both have tried to conquer their worlds by any means necessary but are constantly stopped but continue to come back for more.

Now let's get on to see who wins this. And in my opinion Bowser. HOWEVER this can go either way like I used to think this is a stomp but it really all depends on what you give Eggman. Assuming we're going with their standard arsenals I'd say Bowser wins, he is much stronger and is much more destructive then most of Eggman's mechs sure Eggman is faster but speed alone as well as intelligent and versatility won't match Bowser's destructive capability, magic, and raw power, Bowser has a few transformations that I believe Bowser can match and overpower Eggman. Now if we give Eggman his strongest mechs like the Time Eater than yeah sure Eggman would win but if we use their standard abilities Bowser will ultimately claim victory. If this happens I hope it's a Season Finale or at least the episode before the finale.
