Hey guys it's me Phoenix and today we're going to be doing my Top 10 Kingdom Hearts characters and oh boy it has been a minute since I've ever done one of these so I'm glad to have these up again, so if you guys are enjoying this let me know in the comments below who are your favorite Kingdom Hearts characters if you're a fan of the series like myself but before we begin I just have to tell you that theses are all my opinions not facts so don't get angry with me if someone form the Days trio isn't at the top 3. But anyways enough of my rambling let's get into this top 10.

Quick heads up: for those of you who aren't familiar with the Kingdom Hearts franchise I just need to let you know that the series has a large amount of characters from Disney and Final Fantasy from Square Enix so characters like Cloud Strife, Tifa Lockhart, Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Zack Fair, Sephiroth and many more will not be on this list because it only contains original characters in Kingdom Hearts.

Number 10

For my tenth character who used to be a member of the Organization XIII, he started off as a bad guy at first in Kingdom Hearts: Chain of memories but he ended up turning good later on. And yes the character I'm talking about is Axel.

Also known as Lea, Axel is pretty cool dude. He seems snarky, quick-witted and a joker on the outside. When I first saw this guy I didn't really like him at first mainly because of his attitude but I've gotta to know him and he seems pretty cool man I mean he did prove he had some good in him, I find him really interesting and all he wants is to be happy and to be with his friends. He might lose his friends and end up lonely otherwise. That's why he acts so cold to Saix (whom used to be his best friend) when he had to choose between his two current best friends but at least they all ended becoming friends in Kingdom Hearts 3. Now a problem I have with him is that Axel lacks experience as a Keyblade Welder, yes he has experience in combat but he didn't have a Keyblade at that time, but still even than Axel is a cool dude and a joker and a really interesting character. Got it memorized? (That's something Axel always says just to let you guys know.)

Number 9

In my ninth spot I'm probably gonna get some "Why isn't he higher?" Comments but once it's my opinion not fact. Anyways this is a character who basically had his entire body possessed for OVER A FREAKING DECADE but returned and reclaimed his body, and I'm talking about Terra.

Terra is my second favorite character in the Birth by Sleep trio he's a very tough guy. His story in the series is impressive  but not as good as some other characters we'll get into later on. The aspect of his ideals conflicting with his actions, the fall of a true hero yet still fighting against the one who took over his body. This is not even a story about the Fallen Hero this is a story about a guy who was consumed by darkness and is still fighting to get out. I mean he's been possessed by Xehanort for over a decade I'm glad he made a comeback in Kingdom Hearts 3 like its amazing. The only flaw I have with him is that it TOOK HIM FOREVER TO RECLAIM HIS BODY! I hate stories where a hero is in a position to where he can't get out of. But still even at that time Terra vowed to set things right and he did.

Number 8

Coming in at number eight is the main mastermind in this entire series up until Kingdom Hearts 3 he has an interesting backstory and is scheduled to appear in my final season of Video Game Vs Battles where he will fight Ganondorf from The Legend of Zelda series and that guy my friends is Master Xehanort.

For those of you who aren't fans of the series let me tell you this, Xehanort maybe an 80 year old man but if you actually play the games you'll fine out that this 80 year old man will the last person you ever fought. I mean this guy is so powerful in Birth by Sleep this man literally speed blitz the absolute crap out of Terra, Ventus, and Aqua and body themed to the ground, he froze Ven an put him into a coma, possessed Terra and made him his vessel, (indirectly) caused Aqua to fall into the Realm of Darkness for over a decade, and was responsible for Eraqus's death. But wait....this is only only the beginning, he became even more powerful in Kingdom Hearts 3. How you might ask? Well because at the end of the third game, Xehanort has control of ALL OF TIME AND SPACE!!!!! With Universal destructive capability he can rewrite all of reality as we know it. Yeah this guy is super tough, he literally put Terra, Ven, and Aqua through over 10 years of suffering. Xehanort is a force to be reckon with, no wonder why Sora was almost his vessel and made him and his friends to save the Birth by Sleep trio. Well he does eventually redeem himself and die at the end but even in that time Xehanort was one of the most powerful villains at his time.

Number 7

For my number seven pick is a character back from the Birth by Sleep trio and is quite similar Sora and Roxas, he basically looks exactly like Roxas so don't confuse the two the only thing that's the same is that they both have the same hair style and voiced by the same guy. While his body was asleep his heart co-exists inside Sora's heart, until Kingdom Hearts 3 to where is heart returned to his body and woke him up. And the person I'm talking about is Ventus.

He's also called Ven for short buy hey whatever suits you. Anyways Ven is the youngest character in Birth by Sleep and Sora and Roxas wouldn't really be around if it weren't for him. He's a nice dude even though he sleeps a lot but he's cool. Even though he looks like Roxas, Ven is a better version of him in my opinion. And let me just say his music is amazing but it's also sad at the same time. I didn't cry over it every time I listen to it's still enjoyable to listen, and don't worry I'll talk about Ven's theme in the next chapter so don't you all worry about I show the music to you all (or you can just look it up yourself if you'd like, that's fine too.) Anyways a problem I have with him is that despite being 16 years old he sounds like a 10 year old kid trapped in a teenager's body, and he's always often being protected by Terra and Aqua. Still Ventus is a unique character in the series.

Number 6

At number six is a character who is considered useless and is often a Damsel in Destress, but she is the girlfriend of Sora and she is claim, caring, and brave, also even though she has done nothing in recent years at least she's not freaking, annoying, or a cry baby. And she was everything Sakura Haruno from Naurto should've been. The person I'm talking about is Kairi.

I think Kairi is amazing even though, for a Damsel in Destress she doesn't even act like a cry baby unlike most females who always cry whenever they get kidnaped and yes I am looking right at you, Sakura you big forehead cry baby.Sora basically has a crush on Kairi and she seems to know this too and she has a crush on him too. Both Sora and Kairi started having a crush on each other since the first Kingdom Hearts game. That's what's so great about Kairi it's her relationship with Sora, she and him are both always seem to rescue each other (even though it's mostly Sora doing the rescuing but still). I really like her story in the series it's amazing, Disney and Square Enix did a really good job with her character. Now the only problem I have with Kairi is her lack of combat experience, despite being a Keyblade Welder with training from Merlin, she lacks experience in terms of fighting and she was basically a big let down in Kingdom Hearts 3 she was caught of guard and nearly killed by a possessed Terra, kidnaped by Xemnas, and basically killed by Xehanort, I'm tired of her being treated like some loose end she really needs to up her game if she's gonna be like Aqua and Xion and the other guys, but since Sora is supposedly gone maybe Kairi will have a chance to shine, I hope they do her good and make her a playable character in future Kingdom Hearts games, but still Kairi is the best and bravest female character in the series.

Number 5

Taking the number five spot is one of my personal favorite out of all the Days trio who had one of the most emotional death scene I've ever seen and has the saddest music in not only in this entire series but in gaming history in general and the character I'm talking about is Xion.

Oh boy, Xion. Let me just say she immediately became one of my favorite characters every since Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days because...I don't know something about her character development and her story all Is just amazing I really like it. Her boss fight seems amazing too. But if there's one thing I should say is that her death was so SAD probably one of the saddest deaths in video game history. For those of you who are not Kingdom Hearts fans, brah you technically don't understand the pain us fans just witnessed (And no Death Battle doesn't count because it's only for entertainment.) I mean like.....we just witnessed Xion are favorite character since her debut die right in front our eyes. If you don't believe me watch it yourselves, the video is right here.

And I love Xion's theme even though it's by far one of the most saddest music in video game history I still love it even though I was in tears when I listened to this I still enjoyed it. Overall Xion is the best character out of the Days trio and my 2nd favorite female character in the series. But hey at least we can celebrate her great return in Kingdom Hearts 3. And hey maybe she'll be playable in the DLC.

Number 4

As for my number four is my personal favorite out the Birth by Sleep trio is the best female video game character in not just but in gaming history in general, she spends over a decade without a friend a refuses to give, she has beautiful blue hair. That person is Aqua.

I love Aqua she's enduring. Like her name. Strong like water, a force, an element. A stream that may dry seasonally but never truly die. I feel like out all the characters in the series, Aqua's story is the most interesting of all. She got much more screen time than Terra and Ven did. She swells that bow to storm but briefly, returning to stillness as they please, churned by greater currents, driven from within not without, describing timeless perpetuity. If impeded, she would flow around. A soothing light, of protection, sheltering. A fearsome foe, inexorable, unpredictable, ever-changing, merciful. She's really strong and a tough woman, I gotta she looks beautiful too I'm not gonna lie, but the one thing I love about Aqua is that she was voiced by Willa Holland my number one personal favorite actress of all time. I got to give Willa credit for doing a great job with Aqua. I also love Aqua's theme too it's really powerful it has a combination between sadness, anger, and darkness it's so good but much like with Xion's theme I did cry while listening to it but I still like it nonetheless. Overall I don't have any problems with Aqua, even in the Realm of Darkness for over a decade Aqua never gave up what a badass. I liked her boss fight against Sora as Anti-Aqua in Kingdom Hearts 3 to where you can finally save her it was amazing. Aqua is the one of the best characters in this entire series.

Number 3

Moving on to the top 3 we have is one of Sora's best friends, he originally was supposed to wield the Kingdom Key but due to him being consumed and possessed by darkness it was passed down to Sora instead, though people didn't like him at first he eventually grew stronger and people began to love, he's also very similar to Sasuke Uchiha from Naurto, the person I'm talking about is Riku.

Now I'll be honest I didn't like Riku at all in the first game mainly because he was acting like a villain in that game but since then he grew out of it and I started to like him and got to know him more. Just like Sasuke, Riku is Sora's friendly rival who fell to darkness and became a villain and redeemed himself in the end. He's pretty cool Riku's dynamic growth throughout the series, as well as being more satisfying to play as than Sora in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance is another reason why he's my favorite character in the series. Riku not only sacrificed himself for Sora and Kairi so he can redeem himself for the mistakes he caused but he was able to shine in Kingdom Hearts 3. I don't have any problems with him now but overall Riku is an awesome friend to Sora and tough fighter

Number 2

The runner-up character for this list is someone who is a doppelgänger of Sora but at the same time he is not a doppelgänger only just his own character though he does look like a clone of Ventus, and that character I'm talking about my friends is Roxas.

Oh wait I see you typing in the comments "Roxas should've been number one he is the best character in the entire series." But hey guess what? This is my opinion and my opinion alone, I made this list so I decide where this dude goes so I don't care if he's number one on everyone else's list. Anyways I do find Roxas very interesting even though he's not an edgelord like Shadow the Hedgehog or Dark Pit, he's amazing in his own way. When I first saw Roxas  I didn't know who he is at first but then I got to know him more and started to like him. Plus his music and his battle them music in Kingdom Hearts 2 is pretty sick. Fun fact: some of the sounds form Terra, Ven, and Aqua's themes all came from Roxas which is kinda ironic if you think about it. I can understand why people like Roxas more than Sora I mean it's probably because of his character development and so on but still this is my opinion so please respect. Also SCREW YOU IGN for saying Roxas is the worst character, and I thought you saying "Sonic was never good" was enough but clearly it's not. But anyways Roxas is a great character and I can't wait to play as him once the DLC comes out.

And finally for my number one pick which is probably something you all didn't expect is the one who started this entire series ever since he was 14 years old, he's 4th favorite video game character next to Mario, Sonic, and Mega Man, as the person I'm talking about on my number one pick is the one and only Sora.

I might be wrong about this because I'm pretty sure you all did not see this one coming as Sora is without a doubt my number one pick of this list I don't care what everyone else says the main protagonist of the entire series is my number one pick on my list as I'm a time of person who favors the main protagonist as number one in every story. Anyways Sora's someone you can just look up to. Whether it'd be for his optimism, altruism, or how he encourages other people. I get how people love Roxas, but there's just something about Sora you can't ignore. Sora has done a lot of things of the years and is a pretty damn good fighter as he basically gets stronger, faster, tougher, and more powerful every second stronger than I ever thought he would be and if you don't believe me watch that video called Sora's Powers Explained - Kingdom Hearts by the one and only SethTheProgramer as it explains how strong Sora is. He's sacrificed himself to save his friends multiple times he's even saved Riku, Aqua, Roxas, Ventus, Terra, Axel, Xion, and even Kairi. Sora's the only one capable of taking on Xehanort in the final battle at the end of Kingdom Hearts 3 even though he had help from Donald and Goofy but still he beat the big bad behind every that's happened. Sora was the first character I saw and the first game was the one that really got me into the franchise and seeing this kid defeating monsters was the best thing that could happen to me at the time! Unfortunately it seems like Sora had vanished away into dust right in front of Kairi due to him using a last ditch effort to bring her back it seems like our beloved childhood is over for now, but don't worry Sora will come back to life in a future a game but until then we'll just have to wait and that is why Sora is the number one best character in the entire Kingdom Hearts series.
