So this is about the retreat I took last week with my high school.

We went to New Life Ranch, a church camp associated with New Life Church, which lets Union use one of their buildings for school...well, and vice versa...?

It was...kind of fun.  It could've been better, but I've heard that my grade never likes it.

The bus trip was pretty okay.  I slept most of the way there.  It didn't take too long; just about 3 hours with no stops.

While we were there, we mostly did team building activities.  Some were more fun than others.  I really liked the one with the ricochet balls the most, even though we had to do it like 4 or 5 times when we couldn't get it right.

Anyways, we did sometimes get free time, which I didn't have anything to do with since I had left my sketchbook behind.  "I won't need it," I said.

I was wrong.

But the first day I DID get to go canoeing with my friend Abigail...
...and I fell into the lake.

Yep.
I, KoolKat, fell into a freezing cold lake.

And I didn't have a change of clothes.

So after we finished canoeing one of the teachers let me borrow her shorts and socks, which was really nice of her.

Later on we got to go to chapel.  One of our coaches, Coach Goudeau, preached a really powerful sermon.  Sure, it was mostly his life story, but it's still really powerful.

We had devotions later on.  ... I got way more emotional than I intended to whenever I talked about one of my friends...

I might also talk about this if anyone asks...

The next day was short since we left at 1:00.  All we did were a few quick trust activities...
...that I HATED.

But we also got breakfast and lunch before we left, sooooo....

Overall, I guess I had a good time.  I learned a lot.  I'm looking forward to next year too.
