Answer

So Forestxkingx I am going to answer your question...  I can answer there but there is so much to answer and i was going to do it in here and NightXQueenX said an answer that is great too.  Sorry if that was confusing....

Our church is really called The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints but for short we go by lds or mormons.  Mormonism is a christian faith. We believe in the Bible as long as it is correctly translated but, we also believe in a book called the Book of Mormon.

In it is the words of past prophets and teachers. It is a sacred records of events first put on Golden Plates. They contain things like Nephi and his family's journey, the wars fought in this land, the coming of christ, etc. The plates were buried by a prophet of old and years and years and years later they were brought out and translated by Joseph Smith.

Joseph Smith was our first prophet of the latter day. In his teenage years it was a time when many churches were being made, so he was kind of confused about which church was true. One night he was reading the first chapter of James and he came across one verse, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him."  He decided that he would ask of Heavenly Father. When he did Heavenly Father appeared to him in a vision and told him that none of the churches on the earth were true. He then started to instruct Joseph for a long while. Joseph Smith was our first prophet of latter days and died on June 27, 1884.  He was our first prophet but we do not worship him. We worship our Heavenly Father. Our current prophet is President Thomas S. Monson. He is 89 I think...

We believe in the plan of Salvation. The Plan of Salvation is Heavenly Fathers great plan to help us get our bodies and return to him in heaven when we die. First in heaven we were just spirits and wanted to be like Heavenly Father and have a body. So he came up with this plan but, he needed a savior, because without someone to pay for our sins once one person made one mistake they wouldn't be pure. Justice had to be paid so one person had to pay. Two people volunteered. Jesus and Lucifer. (You might know Lucifer as Saitan...) Satan wanted for us to not have a choice so that we could all come back to heavenly father. He may have had the right thing in mind but it wouldn't be the right thing to do. He was angry that he was not going to be the savior and started a war in heaven. 1/3 of spirits were on his side. They were banished and could not be apart of Heavenly Fathers plan so, all of us here wanted to be here. When we came to earth we passed through a sort of veil. This veil hid our memories of heaven so that we could be on earth. We came to earth and were born. All of our sins are counted for by the sacrifice of Jesus. We live our lives and then when we die we leave our bodies and go to two sections of a temporary place while we wait until everyone joins us. These two places are called paradise and prison. In paradise its... a paradise it's where the good people go. They teach the people in prison about the church and things like that. Then if you accept the church and learn you go into paradise. After that we all go back to earth to do a couple of last things and be judged of our sins. In heaven there are three parts. The Celestial kingdom is for the awesomest and is where Jesus and Heavenly Father live. In it there are 3 different parts. The top is is the awesomest of the awesomest. If you want me or Abby to explain more about the  kingdoms I guess just ask. Then there is the Terrestrial kingdom. It is the second best go. And then the Telestial kingdom. All of the kingdoms have great glory, great glory and are all much better in everyday than earth. Outer darkness (hell.....) is where the bad people go and you'd have to be VERY bad to go there. You would have to have a PERFECT  knowledge of god and then deny him and preach against the church. That is pretty much the only people who would go there... Heavenly Father loves us all  and wants us to live with him.

So in a summary of all that we believe in Joseph Smith wrote the 13 articles of Faith.

1 We believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost. (We believe that they are all separate beings. The Holy Ghost is our helper and comforter. Have any of you ever felt that you really should go or not do something or that one decision is really the best? Or have you ever felt this odd comfort in a really hard time? This is the holy ghost. He helps us in times of need. In Utah on July 4th my family and I went to the Vernal park to watch the fireworks. During the fireworks my ENTIRE family had a feeling that we needed to go. We headed the word of the Holy Ghost and left. That year was the first year in a long time that certain fireworks were aloud to be used. The next day we found out that a little while after we had left an old person and a small girl were hit by this firework being misused. We don't know if that is the reason we had to leave or not but who knows...)

2 We believe that men will be punished for their own sins, and not for Adam's transgression. (This means that we will not be judged by other peoples sins.)

3 We believe that through the Atonement of Christ, all mankind may be saved, by obedience to the laws and ordinances of the Gospel. (The atonement is the great sacrifice made by Jesus.)

4 We believe that the first principles and ordinances of the Gospel are: first, Faith in the Lord Jesus Christ; second, Repentance; third, Baptism by immersion for the remission of sins; fourth, Laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Faith is to have confidence in something or someone. Repentance is basically saying sorry for our sins and asking forgiveness of Heavenly Father. You can get baptized when you are eight. When you get baptized your sins are all washed away and you are pure and clean, we do not do it before then because before 8 sins have not really been made, or at least we don't understand that we have made them. The Laying on of hands is when we really receive the holy ghost and it is when we become a member of the church. Before we do have the holy ghost and it guards us but not quite as much.)

5 We believe that a man must be called of God, by prophecy, and by the laying on of hands by those who are in authority, to preach the Gospel and administer in the ordinances thereof. ( This means that only those called of god are to do the things of the church. Like the Prophet presides above the church and it is only him who can receive revelation for the whole church, with the help of others sustained. A teacher presides over their class and while those outside can make suggestions and stuff only he can receive revelation for his entire class.)

6 We believe in the same organization that existed in the Primitive Church, namely, apostles, prophets, pastors, teachers, evangelists, and so forth. (I think this is explained... but if it isn't ask.)

7 We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth. (This means that we believe that Heavenly Father can give us revelation, visions and help us with language... NightXQueenX....)

8 We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. (... any questions on this one?)

9 We believe all that God has revealed, all that He does now reveal, and we believe that He will yet reveal many great and important things pertaining to the Kingdom of God. (We believe that he has given us help is giving us help and that he will always give us help, is that clear and right..)

10 We believe in the literal gathering of Israel and in the restoration of the Ten Tribes; that Zion (the New Jerusalem) will be built upon the American continent; that Christ will reign personally upon the earth; and, that the earth will be renewed and receive its paradisiacal glory. (This is about Zion. Zion is a place here in America. It's talking about how earth will be made new again... Anything else Abby?)

11 We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may. ( This one is also very important... it is stating that we have the right to worship how we may and don't restrict others. We know that everyone has this right and encourage others to practice their own beliefs how they will!)

12 We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law. (This one tells that we are not objected from the law and abide by it.)

13 We believe in being honest, true, chaste, benevolent, virtuous, and in doing good to all men; indeed, we may say that we follow the admonition of Paul—We believe all things, we hope all things, we have endured many things, and hope to be able to endure all things. If there is anything virtuous, lovely, or of good report or praiseworthy, we seek after these things. (ask if this needs explaining, this is probably one of my favorites..)

On sunday we go to church. It is 3 hours long but it seems to go way fast!!! 1st hour is Sacrament meeting. It is when we take the sacrament  (renew our baptism) and listen to talks given by others. In second hour we go to sunday school. Sunday school is where we go with our age group and get taught by a teacher. In 3rd hour we split up even more. I go to young women and so do all the other young women. The young women are split up by Beehives:12-13 Miamaidss:14-15 and Laurels: 16-18 or 19. Me and Kayleigh would be in Beehives and as of tomorrow abby is going to be in Miamaids! (Happy early b-day by the way!) Boys go to young men and they have the same age groups just different names! Deacons then Teachers then Priests.

We believe that marriage is a sacred relationship between a man and a woman. While we don't necessarily believe in being gay, lesbian, bisexual, etc. we will support others decisions. We won't shun someone because of something that is a part of them. Please, this pertains to other things as well, don't think that we won't be friends with you or think that you can't tell us if you do something other than what we believe.

It is suggested that we do not date until 16 but that is just a suggestion.

We do not practice polygamy or have one guy married to one or more girls or vice versa.

It is don't curse or take Heavenly Fathers name in vain.  (Oh my dog backwards.) We do not do this because it kind of is rude... with everything that he has done for us.

We have the word of wisdom with says stuff like don't drink strong drinks (coffee and tea, we can drink herbal tea and stuff like that) don't smoke or use other tobacco stuff, follow what your parents say, that kind of stuff!

That is a kinda long summary of our church!... Do you want to know anything else?...
