Life in the kids I babysit: lunch edition lmao 😘🥰😍
So, I usually make the kids lunch the night before they come because I won't exactly have time during the day because schoolwork online.
Don't worry they still get lots of love and attention, I have like five siblings to keep them entertained and alive for a little while. Plus they nap a lot, they're like three. 😂
They're also my lil' cousins so they love me 😘 i'm their cool teenage cousin Awee yeah
Tonight for them, I seasoned and grilled some chicken on the stove and made some bacon for the lunch. I'm making some Bacon chicken ranch wraps for them.
I try to make them something new every so often so it doesn't get boring or tiring for them. They love mozzarella cheese so i'm putting some of that on it too. They HATE lettuce though, one of them had a legit temper tantrum the last time I put lettuce on something, and the other one looked depressed I kid you not. 🤣
So I prepared the wrap, BUT I FOUND THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ANY RANCH SMH
But I DID have some sour cream and some chicken sauce, so I made do with that. I spread on some sour cream, and sprinkled mozzarella on it, letting the chicken and bacon cool so it didn't melt the cheese because, like, this is for tomorrow.
I put the chicken on the cheese, put some sauce in it, and wrapped it up.
I wanted to make sure it was good, not too much or too little of anything, so like the good babysitter I am, I ate half of the one i'd made 😂😂
I had put a little too much sour cream on it, everything else was good though, so I fixed that mistake and moved on. I had a lot of extra chicken, but that was okay because I like to make extra's just in case. You know toddlers, sometimes they'll eat one bite and sometimes they'll eat five of one thing.
Once I finished all of the wraps I put them into a container and popped em into the fridge and began to check what I had to give em' as a side.
I had some plain vanilla yogurt cups, and some mandarin oranges, they liked those so #winning
Lol, so um,, yeah.
Oh wait! Also I feel SO guilty ya'll, I literally didn't have any vanilla extract, or butter so I couldn't make the little ones any dessert! I was going to bake some chocolate chip cookies for them, because I always make them a little treat like mini cheesecakes or cupcakes or brownies, but I didn't have any ingredients today.
They're three, hopefully they'll be JUST as happy with fruit chew gummies tomorrow!
I know I could just make them pb&j's or something, but it's so fun to put time and effort into making a good, fun lunch that they'll enjoy. Maybe not appreciate but they don't need to. They're three 😂
I like to arrange it cute and stuff so they can get a giggle out of it, "hey mu fruit has a whipped cream smile!" And then they compare who has the bigger whipped cream smile or something idk what kids do lol.
I take a little break from school to give them their lunches, give them a kiss, and tell them to be good while i'm doing stuff, and if they need me i'm just a room away.
I take periodic breaks to check up on them, to find them watching coco melon or coloring or playing dinosaurs. I make sure that they have plenty of snacks in case they get hungry.
I put them down for a nap on the bed in the room I do my schoolwork in, and stay in bed with them till they fall asleep, then I finish my algebra.
When they wake up, i'll most likely be done with the work, and then i'll play with them, bring them outside to jump around on the trampoline and play in the dirt. I'll bring them inside later for a bath, let them play in the bubbles for a while, and take them out.
I feed them dinner, than I calm them down for the night, because by then it's either 7 or 8 pm depending on the day, so I get out a chalk board and help them recognize the alphabet. They can repeat after me pretty well, though i'm trying to help them recognize the letters. We're working on C right now 😂
One of them is slightly older in pre-K so he can write his name, i'm so proud 🥺🥺🥺🥺
After a little educational fun, I turn on a movie, or whatever they choose to watch, and we sit down together to get calm.
I offer them snacks like cheese crackers or whatever I have around the house, and then they more likely than not, fall asleep in my arms until their parents come to pick them up.
And that'a all lol
Anyways! Thanks for reading, bye-bye!
