~Chapter 11~
Your heart pounded against your chest painfully as you struggled to keep a breath. The rainbow wools of your sweater pooled around you, offering something colorful against a blank canvas of space. At the end of your fingertips, the same wool seemed to grow from your hand in a vaying range of ten unique colors.
You watched your trembling hands, black consuming one while the other was a familiar skin tone. The inky black seemed to look splattered against you, like it had been thrown at you and couldn't come off. You were in panic, shaking violently as pain laced for body. You tried to remember, but your mind drew a blank.
Where am I?! What happened to me? My skin is black. Is that right? Is the other half wrong?! Why is there string coming from my hands? I don't feel safe here. Why aren't I safe? Why am I alone? Was I always alone....
"Hey-y! Puppet! Get out of your cocoon."
You squeaked, shrinking away from the voice that interrupted your blind panic. He sounded cruel. Why? He hadn't done anything to you. Why didn't you trust him?
You rose slowly, swiveling your head until you could locate the source of the voice. He seemed tired as he looked down at you, an unamused hint in his gaze. "A-A-Aw great, you're trauma-matized." He growled.
"W-who are you?" You stuttered.
He raised a brow as he bounced down on his knees, watching you as you flinched away. He seemed to be examining you. "You d-don't rememb-ber?" He asked, peering intently.
"Remember..." You muttered. You tried to scrap together something, but you couldn't remember anything. You squeezed your eyes shut trying to recall even a second of a memory put you couldn't. "I-I can't. I don't..."
"Wow there P-Puppet! You'll hurt yourself if you keep t-trying to load mem-memories like that."
"What?" You looked down at yourself and gasped. Over your ashen flesh the words 'Loading Error' hovered. As you forgot your objective and focused on what was in front of you, it seemed to fade until it was gone. "I don't understand. Why can't I remember anything? Why am I here? Who-"
"Slow d-down!" He ordered, sitting before you with his legs crossed. "Ta-Take it slow. I'll give you three questions-s now, but you have to listen to me after th-that."
You nodded happily, thirsting desperately for any information. He held up one digit and looked at you expectantly. "First question. Go."
You looked down at yourself and thought. You had so many questions. Only three...
"Okay. Who... are we?" You asked, looking at him nervously.
His brow furrowed, before he released a broken laugh. "Cl-Clever." He said. "My name is E-Error. You are my puppet. That's how you are add-dressed."
"Okay." You muttered, tucking away the info. "You're Error. I'm Puppet. I have two more questions." You nodded.
"Yes. Go." He said briefly.
"Where are we?" You asked, now feeling more sure of yourself.
"We're in the anti-void." He said.
"What's the anti-void?" You asked automatically, not realizing your mistake.
He smirked. "That's three." He chimed. "The a-anti-void is a dimension that is completely victim to my control. I can manipulate it to open portals to any dimension I please without d-detection in the universe."
Your face fell. "Please, one more question!" You begged. Hearing what he had to say only gave you more questions. What were the portals? Is he the only one with access to the anti-void?
"No more q-questions. Follow me." He instructed curtly.
Error took your arm and yanked you up, pulling you behind him as he led you through the seemingly directionless space. His gaze snapped back towards you every few paces, as though he was expecting you to disappear. He stopped suddenly and you almost tripped over yourself. He took your hand and held it so he was looking at your fingers.
For no knowledgeable reason, it made you mad when he held your hand. A guilt seemed to result from it. Guilty of what? "W-What do you think you're doing?" He hissed, grabbing your hand again. "We made a d-deal, so stick to it."
"I don't want you to touch my hands." You said quietly. "It feels.... bad. Like I'm not supposed to. It feels like I'm betraying someone."
He rolled his eyes. "I'm the only o-other person you know. H-How can you betray someone you don't reme- uh, know. Someone you don't know."
"I don't.... I don't know." You muttered. You felt like something was on the edge if your thoughts but you couldn't remember. The Loading Error text reappeared around you and Error growled.
"Stop trying to remember s-shit!" He barked.
You jumped, startled by his sudden yelling. The text disappeared and he sighed. Dropping your hand, you automatically curled your hands against you chest and examined them. Error muttered to himself as you poked at the string. He turned away and walk a few paced off, mumbling inaudible words.
You imagined that the string would stand up and wave around you like an excited pet. Your eyes remained shut as you watched it twist gently and finally land limp in your hand. You opened your eyes and to your surprise, the string lifted and did just that.
The string grew in its rainbow hue and detached. It moved around you and you smiled. It complete the path you imagined, then went limp in your palm. You awed in silence, glancing at Error to make sure he wasn't watching. You felt like he wouldn't like to see you playing with your strings. You looked at your hands and focused, created a distinct image in your mind. It was colorful and big, a comfort against such a blank world.
As your eyes opened, you looked up and watched as the strings danced from your fingertips, weaving perfectly as it got bigger and bigger. It's cycle drew to an end and you through up your hands to catch the item, though it was far too big to truly catch. The string cut off from your fingers with a snap and tucked themselves into it, leaving it to gravity as it fell.
Error whipped around at the sharp snap and glared at you. "What are you d-do- OOMPH!"
You gasped, then snickered as it fell on top of him. It was a large blanket made with thick, almost rope-sized yarn. The ends of your string disappeared into your fingertips as you laughed at Error in an obnoxious way. He growled at you as you keeled over, eyes shut tight to keep tears from rolling down your cheeks.
"What w-was that?!" He asked in an order-like manner. "H-How did you do that?"
You looked at him and fell silent. You didn't trust him. He didn't seem like the ally he said he was. "I don't know." You lied. "It just happened."
He growled as he took you arm, shaking it as he held your hand before you. "And y-your strings are just m-magically gone?!"
"Maybe they fell out!" You countered. "It's not a bad thing. This void of white will make me go crazy. It needs a little color. Just a touch of life to-"
"HELL. NO." He yelled, cutting you off. "This is my dimension! I won't have you spreading his m-magic like a virus!"
You flinched back, face reddening as your brow knit together. Your were mad. "What make should think you get a say?! You're not the only one here you know! And based on how you're acting, I'm gonna assume this is your first time not being alone here." You snapped. "If I'm gonna be trapped here. I'm gonna use my freedom as I choose. You can't control me."
His smile crept wide in a frightening manner. He raised a palm and you felt a shudder rip through you. You blinked and you were blanketed in blue string. Danger flash in your mind as you froze. A soul tumbled from your chest, knotted tightly in the string. Your soul looked as if it had been thrown into a cloud confetti. Blocks of black hid parts of it from view. It reminded you of the glitches surrounding Error.
Your eyes flashed to him as he grinned maniacally. "I can't c-control you can I?" He laughed. "You can't talk to me like that."
He squeezed his hand into a fist and the strings surrounding you obeyed. Just as your strings bent to your will, his did as well. You bit down a scream and crushing pain swept your chest. You tried to rip at the strings, but before you could tear them free your hand would phase through them in an instant.
"Stop!" You screamed. "That hurts!"
He cackled, the strings going slack as you dropped to your knees. You gasped for air, clutching your chest as you panted. "I..." You heaved, challenging his gaze "... refuse to give in."
His face fell and your body flew up once again, propelling you into the air. You were silent as you fell, closing your eyes and waiting for impact. Your body was yanked roughly and you cried out. Your breath was cut off immediately. You could barely glance the strings that captured you as you choked for air.
You clawed at your neck, eyes locked on Error. He vanished, reappearing before you in the canopy of strings. As you clawed at your neck, he kept your gaze. "Here's the deal Puppet. I know you don't l-like me. Y-You never have even before now, but this is how this will go down. You have no way of leaving here. I do. You have no m-m-memory of where you came from, who you a-are, or where you need to be. If you want any ch-chance of getting your memory back or leaving here alive, you're going to follow the orders I give you. U-Understood?"
You didn't want to give in so easily, but between the lack of oxygen and the truth in his words you had no choice. You didn't remember anything from your past, and you couldn't go about life on vague ghost of emotions. Your glared at him but nodded. He smirked, dropping you as you stayed on your knees. You massaged your neck as you coughed.
You sucked up air as you found Error in your vision. He stood over you with a smug look on his face. "I'm glad we c-cleared that u-u-up." He said.
You growled at him as you shrank back. He offered a hand but you knocked it away in a rough manner. "I can stand on my own." You hissed.
As you stood, you felt a wave of dizziness. You wavered, but steadied yourself promptly and looked at Error defiantly. "Just because I agreed, doesn't mean you can dictate me." You said bluntly. "I'll listen to you, but that doesn't mean you control me."
He chuckled and shrugged. "We'll see."

I sighed as I paced around the room. It took years to find Error the first time. Finding him again would be near impossible, especially if he was going to be playing keep away now. I was worried about (Y/N), especially after she disappeared.
Before Error whisked her away from UnderSwap, he'd attacked her. It wasn't the action itself that surprised me, but how he attacked her. I watched as he sent a Gaster Blaster after her, but he didn't do it with violent intent. When I saw him, he looked happy, almost cocky.
I yelled, warning her but she was taken by surprised. She barely managed to shove Swap from the way before she took the full blunt of the attack. She vanished in the beam, a scream being the only sensual evidence she was still alive.
The most confusing part is when he swept in. I rushed towards her as soon as the attack vanished, but Error was already there. He towered over her as she dodged in and out of awareness. My chest twisted when I saw her. The attack blackened her skin like an infection, patches of skin now ashen like Error's. Her face was consumed from the right side in grey, her eye identical to one of Error. The most terrifying part though, was her expression. She had gone from blood-curdling screaming to silence in seconds. Even the expression of pain was void. It was like looking at a blank canvas.
Error looked back at me as he opened the rift, grabbing (Y/N) around her stomach as if to spit at me. He jumped from the rift with (Y/N) slung over his shoulder. Swap was yelling and Chara cried out. I launched at her, reaching as far as I could to grasp her.
I wouldn't be able to replicate the portal if I didn't know where they were going. That's the point. Inches away, I knew I'd lost. The portal closed as I fell towards a wall, the last glimpse of her being a confused, blank look.
She didn't seem to recognize what was happening. Why didn't she remember in that moment? Something about Error's attack had been changed, altering it's effects. He took her as a trophy, but he'd use her as a tool against me if it came to it. Seeing that, the first thing I could do was figure out what exactly that attack did.
I waved a hand and a screen of code appeared before me. Data about known Gaster Blaster flickered before me as I scrolled through its content. My eyes scanned prototype after prototype before eventually I found the model that seemed to make sense. Any regular attack from a Gaster Blaster would kill, or at a minimum leave severe burns.
This model had been altered for other use. It was almost like a weapon one would use in secret service. It was designed under the principle of corruption. The goal was to create a blast that would alter memories. It was aimed to change memories to a desired outcome so that someone may forget, or remember things that may or may not have happened. But all models had failed. They corrupted a soul so that the memory was affected, but there was no way to keep it from damaging the body, and controlling what was deleted was impossible. I squinted and grit my teeth as I read the reports of test subjects.
All subjects failed~
Results are negative. In all subjects, 85-100% memory loss is reported. Corruption of the flesh or body of tested figures is reported unanimously, originated from the source of beam. Weapon INEFFECTIVE. Use not recommended.
I growled as I left the data behind and turned to think.
Error used that Blaster to make sure she lost her memory. But why? What is he planning to do with her?

Future Bug~Chan here! I'm sorry about this last update. I fucked up a few times and I wanted to explain.
I have a few friends who are attempting to create a game based around our alter-egos Scary Inc. In that group, I'm called either Katie, or KateBug. I was helping them today and accidentally used my own name in the writing.
Aside from that I also mixed Ink and Error's names in the last most dramatic line of text. I also forgot to go through and glitch Error's dialouge. Bug~Chan fucked up. -_-* I'll go through and edited out my other mishaps, but please forgive me. I promise I'll do better!
I am filled with determination.
P.S. Thank you to those who pointed them out! I probably wouldn't haven't noticed myself. X3
