Astrid's POV

It's been a week since the Rider defeated the Queen and led the dragons away from our village. There was only one "raid" I don't think it should be called raid, because just three dragon (two nadder and and a terrible terror, so basically two dragon) found our chicken house and had dinner there.

Stoick, our cheif, was defeated that day too, and even if he tries he couldn't hide his anger, his pride was badly damaged. I believe now he wants more than just his nightfury... he wants to revenge his pride too.

Everybody is skeptical about the situation, only me and Fishleg agreed on we have no problems with dragons anymore, just with the few stray ones... and I don't know how to feel about it. If there no more attack what will we do? Okay, it's amazing first, we don't have to put ourselves in danger to protect our food so we won't starve to death... but other than that? Really. What will we do? It was our hobby to fight! And now? Nothing.

I sighed. I can't get over this dragon situation! Neither the flight and neither the emptiness now! I'm hopeless.

An another cold night. I'm getting use to have a deep sleep, because I don't have to be aware of the attacks... but I still have my axe beside my bed, better be prepared than sorry.

Who the hell is throwing rocks at my window?! If it's Snotlout or the twins again, there'll be blood. I opened my window and looked down into the darkness. Nobody is there. Great. Twins... you are going to die tomorrow for making me get out from my warm bed. I closed back the window, and an another rock immediately landed on it. Fuuuuuuu. I opened it rapid fast. Again. Nobody is there. I groand, I was about to close again when an another rock landed. What in the name of Thor...? An another on my head. I'm confused. Who can aim in this complete darkness???

I tugged out my head completely, but the torches were really out around. Than how?

An another rock. Now it's annoying!

I whispered.

- Who is there? Show yourself!

... completely calm everything... but something moved. I heard it.

- I know you are here. Who are you?

Still no answer.

Okay. I changed my clothes fast, than I climbed out with my axe. Whoever it is I'll kill that person, because I'll show what I think about these pranks, and I'll end it. Now.

As I reached the ground I stood still waiting for the next sound, so I'll can strike...

Something touched my hand but instead of attacking I froze.

Why?

Because it was scales. Before I could making different theories how the twins messing with me, I felt it again, smooth cold, but still warmer than the cold night air. It moved, it was vivid and with carefully moves under my fingers... I remember this touch.

- Toothless...?

A soft purr like growl. Okay. He IS Toothless.

He pushed my back, I thought I'll fell over but I managed to regain my balance, he tossed and tossed until I wasn't moving enough fast for his liking. Than It felt like he disappeared... so I slowed down, but in fornt of me I heard a quiet barely audible sound, the characteristic nightfury screech.

I followed... until I crashed into something. I yelped.... when I heard something familiar, it's like a laugh? Yes, it is! He is laughing at me! Fuuu. What did I crash into? Is it a tree? Yes. We are near to the forest, I can't keep up blind!

Suddenly I saw blue light, I covered my head waiting for the fire... but it did not happened. Just the light. I dared to have a look, his mouth was open, and the light was coming out steady. We shared a look, he had his friendly eyes... .... is he giving me light?

He started to walk forward, and I followed.
The forest looked amazing with the blue light! Like I'm in a different world! Wait. I know this route! It leads to the cove where the nightfury took Hiccup! Can this dragon be the killer?! I don't want to believe but it seems like it! I tightened my grip on my axe. First I want to learn his intentions...

...

Who am I lying to? I don't stand a chance against a nightfury! All I can hope for is his mercy...

As I guessed we reached the cove he was looking at the entrance, which was way too small for him, but perfect for me. He waited until I got in, than he jumped down and lighted up my route down.

He growled, and immediately there was a reply from an another dragon. Now I doubt it was a good idea to follow... than I saw flames. Flames of a nightmare, but he wasn't threatening anyone... I looked at Toothless confused, who was walking away from me. Than he stopped and WHINED? What?

Oh. OOOOHHHHH.

I saw the Rider lying on the ground unconscious, he was badly hurt, through his black armor.

His dragon looked at me, than him, than back to me.

Now I understand. He wants me to help!

I crouched down, he looked awful. A little backpack was placed next to me, and I opened it, there was first aid in it! Many bandage, some cleaning for the wound, and antidotes....

It's all nice, but I'm not a healer... I can't give a proper help.

However I could act like I know what I'm doing than he dies! I would be the hero, who killed the legendary Traitor!

I looked at Toothless. His eyes were full of worry. I haven't seen that many emotion on any dragon... I... don't know what to do! I sighed. He saved us from the dragon attacks. They didn't killed us! He spared our chief.

...

I'm out of my mind.

- I can't heal him. - He narrowed his eyes at me angrily. - I don't know how to heal, I'm a warrior not a healer... - Now his looked softened, but became worried and so so so so so sad that I haven't even seen on any human. I'm really crazy. - but... - His ears(?) perked up. - I can lead you to our elder, she knows what to do.

His eyes now was filled with hope. I barely see that many emotions on vikings... but he is a dragon! And he is so sensitive... I did not even know I was doing it, but I placed my hand on his nose... For a moment I thought I'm really done for touching him... but instead of killing me he closed his eyes and leaned into my touch.

- Wait. You understand what I'm saying?!

He nod. Okay. I'm having a conversation with a dragon. This is crazy.

- What else would I expect from the Rider's dragon?

He did some purr like sound. I smiled. I have to admit he is cute. He turned and lay down. Now what does he wants from me? Than he poked my back, I fell on his back.

- You want me to ride you?

Okay...

I mounted him, and he hugged his Rider to himself when we took off. He was slow and gentle with his every flap. The others stayed there in the well known cove.

I'm in the air again.

I really missed it... it's amazing like it was not so long ago. I guess riding a dragon is not so different from a horse... at least about the controls, because he reacted to my instructions.

I pointed down.

- Here we are. Stay low profile.

We landed. I will lie something to Gothi...

Before anything, I took of the "Rider's" clothes, in the end he was "just a simple guy, who I found on the beach".

- Wait here.

With that I put him on my back.

Why am I doing it again? Oh, right. Because I don't want to know what would Toothless do if I don't.... maybe not. Maybe I'm just curious. I don't know anymore, but one thing is sure, I want to talk with him, I want to know more.

I knocked on the elder's home.

It took a while when the door opened and revealed the old lady, with exhausted look... but her eyes widened when she spotted him.

- I was walking on the beach, when I found him. He is in a pretty bad shape.

Toothless' POV

I don't trust that girl. Neither this forsaken village... but I had no other option. This poison is dangerous for both of our races... especially for humans... I pressed myself to the wall, listening to any conversation, but apparently the only one who is talking that girl... if I remember well, it was Astrid? I believe it's her name.

"Yes, I found him on the beach, I have no clue who he is."

I still don't really get why do the humans lie when they know the truth... but I've learnt that it saves lives from their own stupidity. I'm really hopping this happening now too.

"If it's your wish, I'm going now. I'll check back in the morning."

Now she leaves him? WHY?!

She came out, and I was already beside her.

- She will do her best, I'm sure. All we have to do is wait. I'll be back in the morning, and update you... but now nothing more can be done.

I nod. What else can I do?! He is between life and death... and I can not do anything about it. She petted me, which did not helped me, but she became calmer... with that, she left.

I sat down beside the house and stared at the stars... I felt emptiness, I was numb, only my heart was sore. The waiting is killing me! It always did!

The door opened, and I crawled back to the shadows without any sound. She stared the sky for a while too, than she looked at ME! How?! Nobody can see! Maybe she doesn't, just simply looking my way.

I felt like a rabbit under the wolf's stare... it's always been other way around, but now she has Him, I am the rabbit she is the wolf. I shrieked more and more, feeling unsure about whether she sees me or not. She is approaching me!

She stopped only a few little step of hers away... and still stared into my eyes! How???

Gothi's POV

This day had come.

"...The boy who instead of be taken, he took the night fury, and now they own each others life..."

I walked out, and took in the night's beauty... I am meeting with the creature of the night.

I turned to the side, I can't see the dragon, but I know it's the perfect hiding spot. I walked over, and I signed to follow... but he did not. Is he really even here or I'm making fool of myself? With my stuff I swung back, and for my relief it knocked. I wasn't wrong, I signed again to follow.

Toothless' POV

SHE...SHE...SHE HIT ME!

I shot up, I looked at her dumbfolded, blinking. How dare she. She just hit ME! Nobody hits me! And she... And... and... and... how? Suddenly, as the fast shock worn off, and my head startrd to aching, I placed my paw on it to rub the now sore spot.

She signed to follow again.

I don't want to be hit again y.y

So I did follow but I couldn't understand how, I was thinking and no human could see me their sight are worse than that.

She totally couldn't see me!

She went in, I stopped at the doorway.

Gothi's POV

When I went in, and looked back I saw the dark dragon standing in the doorway, so unusual to be seen in the light.

His head was tilted a bit sideways, while his eyes were wide open and reflected confusion, and somewhere behind worry, and nothing else.

I gestured towards the bed, and if I couldn't call him concerned, now he is. His ears fell, and I believe he would shed some tears, if he could.

As he got over the tragedy, he pulled himself together, and now caution with curiosity was seen. Come on dragon, you know what I need.

I pointed to the poisoned part and he suddenly he found out. From a pack on his back, with a big mess he got a little backpack and carefully offered me, and I took it. As I expected. Antidotes.

With his claw he pointed to one. It must be it.

Now I can start.

He carefully placed himself out of the way, he did not knock down anything somehow, and sit down in the "darkest" corner. I nod and started my work.

The prophecy was right.

Toothless' POV

I can't do more now... so I just backed to a corner, carefully like in the forge.

I don't remember when I fell asleep, but I woke up by some loud knocks, I jumped, and I nearly knocked down the half of the self, but I managed to catch them.

Laugh.

I looked up, and she was laughing. Behind her, Hiccup was well patched up and did not smelled like he is dying. I placed back everything, than he gestured towards the upper floor if I remember well people call it attic. Should I go up? She gestured towards Him too. Oohhhh. I should bring Him upstairs!

With blankets which was underneath Him, I covered Him and with that, and like a little pack I brought Him up. There was a lot of thing everywhere, in type of order I don't care to learn. In the further corner I could spot a bed looking thing, it look worse than the one downstairs, but she did save Him, I won't say a word. Like she would understand. I put Him down, and since He nearly slept on the floor I could curl around Him.

Astrid's POV

I didn't sleep well. I left the most wanted person in Gothi's house with the most feared dragon in the corner. What made me think it was a good idea?!

Now I was walking towards her hut, I was looking for Toothless, I've just left him there! He was nowhere to be see! It was getting brighter, even though I still couldn't see the Sun. Nobody is up beside me.

I sighed. I hope everything is okay...

When I reached his house I couldn't see the dragon's route, I don't know how he is doing it, because he looks heavy! Never mind.

I waited a bit until I saw the first rays, she usually up by than... when I turned around to knock the door already opened.

I looked around but I couldn't see him.

- Good morning. How is he?

She signed me to keep calm, and gestured upstairs... I looked up and from there I heard a soft babbling ....? What the... when I saw a pair of eye looking straight to me. I took a step back, when the nightfury jumped down, and nuzzled to me like a cat, and made his purr like growls, I nearly fell over, than he turned to the old women, and did the same but more carefully.

She patted him and gestured upstairs, he obeyed without any protest than like a good dog went up.

- Sooo I suppose he is doing good...

How. When. Never mind. Now she knows about him... before I could ask her to not sell them out, we exited the house and she wrote to the sand.

"Do not tell anyone."

I nodded.

Before you wonder, she asked me to learn her writing few years ago, and taught me how to cure some basic diseases, but I did not go far with my studies, everyone, include me, was concentrating on improving the fighting skills... but now I know the Rider will be okay, I calmed down. Everything is going to be fine... at least I hope so.

(A/N IMPORTANT
Does anyone interested in what happens with Heather or with someone esles who will appear? I don't have any oc-s so all of them is known, but does anyone care? Because now I can't decide I'm overexcited with Hiccup and Toothless, but it would be cool if you, readers, would know whats going on with them, but if nobody interested in, I'll pospone it to later, or it only be mentioned...

Question: Should there be a ch with Heather, and with the other sidecharacters or not?)
