PSA: be careful when driving in the snow/ice

The snow on the ground can cause your car to lose traction with the ground and the ice can make a car slip

A CAR SLIPPING AROUND ON THE ROAD IS VERY DANGEROUS 

before you say: "I can see ice on the road so I know to slow down and be careful"

I will raise you: Black Ice

Black ice isn't actually black, but the road (at least when damp) looks black and the ice is literally invisible so you can't see it, but only the black road underneath, hence the term

Also consider: freezing rain

Freezing rain is actual rain, but when the temperature around you is below freezing, so its liquid in the sky, but when it touches a surface it freezes into ice. Its not hail nor is it snow, it is rain that freezes when it hits the ground

This causes a lot of roads to become covered with ice

So when it is snowing or when there is snow and ice everywhere and you can't drive well in such condition, drive slowly, give yourself lots of room to slow/brake because you will need it, and stick to the main roads, more cars go over the main roads so the heat from those cars can melt some of the snow and ice on the roads thus making it easier, and although there might be more traffic on those roads then the back roads, its a matter of safety and personally i would rather get somewhere 15mins late than never get there at all.
