Adulting
People joke about having to "adult" but the sad fact is that being an adult really sucks sometimes.
I am now divorced (I hear all of you out there getting ready to post the I'm sorrys, don't bother it's fine)
The point it, for the first time in my life I find myself on my own and it's damn frightening. I had in my mind what is required of me, but it's all daunting when it's shoved into your face.
The money required to be an adult is staggering. Rent, utilities, food, car payment, insurance, not to mention all the other crap that pops up. Like oh I don't know ... a damn $900 car repair you weren't expecting.
Now in the interest of showing all of you why exactly you should stay in school and get a good goddamn job, I'll tell you I never had the opportunity to go to college. I graduated high school and started working immediately.
I have no training in anything. About all I'm qualified to do is retail work. Which pays absolute crap. I currently make $9 an hour part-time. Which translates to about $500 a month. Plus on top of that I drive for Uber Eats whenever I can fit it into my schedule, which gets me about another $500 a month, a total of around $1000 give or take how many hours I spend at each one.
Try paying your rent with that (plus pay all your bills on top of the rent), unless you want to live in scary town and carry a gun, it's impossible. Even an apartment where the rent is around $700 a month, they require you to make 2 or 3 times the monthly rent. Obviously I do not.
So, stay in school, get a degree, learn to do something that pays a hell of a lot more than $9 an hour because you seriously cannot live on it.
Trust me you'll thank me for this at some point in your life. Good luck, enjoy being a kid now cause it's no fun being an adult.
