It's been a part of the world for centuries

Centuries riddled with bloodshed and tears

Tears and blood of the innocents

I look back through the pages of time

Eons dotted with misery

And I wonder how the world would be different

Different if we had embraced peace

If starting from the very beginning

We had learned to embrace it all

If we had learnt to appreciate what we had

Instead of trying to to rival our neighbor

Appreciated the small differences

Regaled in what we had

The world is never the same twice

Some things cannot be duplicated

If we had realized that looking past differences

Looked past the biases and stereotypes

Might we have realized sooner

Or realized at all

That greed leads to more greed

Greed leads to amger

Anger leads to bloodshed

All the unnecessary emotion destroys a society

And leads us farther from our ultimate goal:

Peace

Peace for all mankind
