Ramadan Series 2018': 14

WordOfTheDay: 

The Fajr prayer is the 2 raka'at obligatory prayer ('Subuh' prayer) of the five daily prayers offered by practising Muslims. (Fajr means dawn in the Arabic language.)

Zuhr/Dhuhr prayer is performed immediately after declining of the sun,mid-day,noon prayer. It has 4 raka'at obligatory prayers.

The Asr/Asar prayer is the after afternoon daily prayer recited by practising Muslims. It is performed after Zuhr. It also has 4 raka'at fard prayers.

The Maghrib prayer prayed just after sunset, is the fourth of five formal daily prayers (salat) performed by practicing Muslims. It has 3 raka'at fard prayers.

The Isha prayer  is the night-time daily prayerrecited by practising Muslims. It is the fifth of the five daily prayers– (salat) [Islamic evening begins at maghrib]. It has four raka'at fard prayers.

DuaOfTheDay: 

Dua1:

Sana: Subhaanaka Allaahumma wa bihamdika, wa tabaarakasmuka, wa ta'aalaa jadduka, wa laa 'ilaaha ghayruka

Glory is to You O Allah, and praise. Blessed is Your Name and Exalted is Your Majesty. There is none worthy of worship but You.

An-Nasa'i: 900, At-Tirmidhi: 243,

Dua2:

Ruku: Subhaana Rabbiyal-'Adheem

Glory to my Lord the Exalted.

Dua3: 

While prostrating before Allah (in Sujood): Subhaana Rabbiyal-A 'laa

Glory is to my Lord, the Most High.

Dua4:

When sitting between two Sujood: Rabbighfir lee, Rabbighfir lee

Lord, forgive me. My Lord, forgive me.

Dua5:

When sitting in Prayer (Tashahhud): Attahiyyaatu lillaahi wassalawaatu , wattayyibaatu , assalaamu 'alayka 'ayyuhan-Nabiyyu wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuhu, assalaamu 'alaynaa wa 'alaa 'ibaadillaahis-saaliheen. 'Ash-hadu 'an laa 'ilaaha 'illallaahu wa 'ash-hadu 'anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa Rasooluhu

All greetings of humility are for Allah, and all prayers and goodness. Peace be upon you, O Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous slaves of Allah. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and His Messenger.

(The reason why the meanings are also in bold is for today, many of us would know the meaning of the duas we recite in Salah which will make you understand the Salah more easily. These are duas that I read and that most of the people follow, and yes I'm aware that there are more duas but this is the basic)

HadithOfTheDay: 

1) Abdullah is reported to have heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

When any one of you intends to come for Jumu'a prayer, he should take a bath.

[Sahih Muslim]

2) Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:

If you (even) ask your companion to be quiet on Friday while the Imam is delivering the sermon, you have in fact talked irrelevance

[Sahih Muslim]

3) Abu Huraira reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying:

The best day on which the sun has risen is Friday; on it Adam was created. on it he was made to enter Paradise, on it he was expelled from it. And the last hour will take place on no day other than Friday.

[Sahih Muslim]

4)'Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported:

We used to observe (Jumu'a) prayer with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and then we returned and gave rest to our camels used for carrying water. Hassan[ (one of the narrators) said: I asked Ja'far what time that was. He said.. It is the time when the sun passes the meridian.

[Sahih Muslim]

5) Narrated Abu 'Abs:

I heard the Prophet (ﷺ) saying, "Anyone whose feet are covered with dust in Allah's cause, shall be saved by Allah from the Hell-Fire."

[Sahih al-Bukhari]
