As soon as Rajveer carefully made Naina lie on the backseat of his jeep, Alekh drove off with a lightening speed to reach the nearest hospital.

Naina was lying unconscious, with her head in his lap and Rajveer was checking on her every second. Suddenly she started throwing up blood, out of her mouth, which was the result of constant kicks n punches by Puneet on her abdomen. The view was heart wrenching for Rajveer. He felt a gush of pain ran through his body.  Wiping the blood off her face n neck, he made a call to some doctor and request cum ordered her to be ready for Naina's treatment.

Though the physical wounds were deep but the dominating thought was of mental trauma that she had to go through. Rajveer just wanted her back,the way she was. Strong headed, arrogant, angry, impulsive..... but not like this... her vulnerability was piercing his soul!

Soon they were standing out of the operation theatre of 'Jeevan hospital'. Alekh n Rajveer were restlessly waiting for the doctor to come out and inform them about her condition. Its been an hour. The wait is killing both of them. Not a single nurse came out of the OT to inform them about her condition.

The doors opened n there comes the doctor with a dull face..
"I am sorry! ......!   ...... Hum patient ko nhi bacha paaye..."

His head spun and sight was blurring. Holding the collar of Doctor's shirt, he started shouting,

"What nonsense..... kya bol rahein hain aap... aapka dimaag khrab ho gya hai? Meri Naina bhot strong hai... vo aise nahin ja sakti..abhi uski ladai adhuri hai... Abhi mere hisse ki sazaa adhuri h... vo aise nhi ja sakti.. suna aapne... vo nhi jaa skti..."

Jerking away the collars, he ran to the OT. Standing near her, he uncovered the sheet covering her dead body. He put his fingers near her nose to check her breathing but In vain!

Putting his head, on her chest near her heart, he tried to hear her heartbeats. He got Nothing!!!

He started rubbing her hands ...feet... her chest...

"Naina utho... please Naina utho.... "

He held  her right-hand, started hitting n slapping himself with her hands..

"Utho Naina... plz utho.. abhi tumhe mujje mere hisse ki sazaa sunani hai... abhi tumhe us puneet ko sazaa sunani h.. plz Naina uth jao....
......
Naveen k liye uth jao.... plzzz......
.......
Maa baba k liye ... "

His voice was breaking n was hiccuping .... his face was all tear stained... tears were continuously flowing down his eyes...

"Plz naina....
.....
Alekh k liye....
sherry k liye...
Apne dosto k liye..."

he was getting weak n soon he fell down on the floor... still holding her hands , crying bitterly..

"Pl....lea...see...... Naina...
Ple....ase... mai nahin jee paunga..please....m.... mere.... liye.... wapas aajao..."

"SSSSSSirrr ........ sir kya hua apko... itna paseena kyu aaraha h apko... ap gir kaise gye... sir aap please... aap yaha baith jao.. utho sir..."

Rajveer's back  resting against the wall n he was uncomfortably sitting on the floor. His body was trembling n forehead was sweating profusely.

"Sir... ???"

All Rajveer could do was to look at Alekh n try to process what all happened . He was looking at him in shock.

"Alekhh... Naina???"

"Abhi tak operation hi chal raha hai sir.. Aap thik ho?",
Alekh replied understanding his situation.

"Huhhh?",
Rajveer asked him.

"Nhi vo aap abhi yaha deewar k pass khde the..apun aapko awaz b lgaya tha.. nurse aayi thi paper formality k liye ..kuch urgent tha.. to m chla gya wapas aaya toh ap bs saamne pta nhi kya dekh rahe the.. aur dekhte hi dekhte aap wahi pr baith gye ya gir gye.."

"Huhhh...."

"Sir sab thik ho jaega ... Naina ko kuch nhi hoga..."

At this Rajveer looked at him n tears rolled down his eyes. Alekh helped him getting up n made him settle on the chair. Alekh brought him water, which  he denied to drink but Alekh made him drink forcibly.

"Sir... "

Alekh squeezed his hand , giving him hope n strength to endure this painful situation ...
"Maine kaha na sir..Kuch nahin hoga Naina ko.. voh aapki protege h... aur meri behen hai..itni aasani se haar nhi maanegi!"
with this Alekh gave a faded smile.

'Ye srf mere dimag ka darr hai.. kuch nhi hoga Naina ko.. Naina tumhe kuch nhi hoga..'
Rajveer said mentally.

After 30 more minutes doctor came out of the room n Naina was brought out of that room.

"Aap log unse kuch waqt bad mil skte h... abhi unhe kuch waqt under observation rakhna hoga.. "

Rajveer saw her pale face n body. Rajveer n Alekh, both ran towards the stretcher to see her properly. Rajveer caressed her forehead warmly and tears started flowing down her eyes.

"Rajveer ???"

Wiping his tears away he turned to look at doctor.

"Hmmm"

"Tum patient k family ko bula sakte ho? I really need to talk to them."

"She is my wife! Tell me.!"

"Oh Ok Come inside!"

Rajveer started walking towards doctors  cabin.

"Sir Apun b chalega apke  sath.."

Rajveer looked at alekh n then at doctor with a questioning look to which she responded,

"Aap kon h patient k?"

"Wo apun ki behen hai..apun kaa eklauta parivar hai"

"See Alekh... i understand. But kuch chize h jo m srf patient k husband  k sath share kr skti hu.. hope u understand ki patient k sath kya hua h..

Alekh looked at Rajveer to which he nodded and then Alekh too nodded in positive looking at the doctor.

"Apun Naina ko dekhta hai tabtak.."

He started walking away frm them but halted in his way. Turning back to them, he said,
"Apun gol gol baate nhi krta... bas itna bolna chahta hai ki... apun Naina ko sahi salaamat dekhna chahta.. ap jo kr skte ho karo... warna agar Naina ko kuch b ho gya... toh .. apun kisi ko bhi nhi chodega!"

With this,  he left, leaving them alone.

Inside Doctor's cabin...

"G doctor"

"Actually Rajveer Mujhe detail chahiye..as a doctor, I want to know what actually had happened with her which led her to this devastated condition. Tell me!"

Rajveer told her about everything which he knew and looked at her apprehensively.

They talked fr about half an hour and she concluded it by saying,

"abhi vo dawaiyon aur sadme ki wajah se behosh hain.. uski body me kafi chotein h..multiple fractures h ribs me.. and most importantly uski stomach me bhot zada attack kia gya hai toh waha internal bleeding thi bhot..filhal ruk gyi h.."

Rajveer : "ab kaisi h vo? Vo thik ho jaegi naa?? Koi problem toh nhi hogi naa.... uske sath jo kuch b hua.. uski wajah se...kahin?..???"

Doc : "Rajveer.. maine kuch tests kiye hain.. unki reports kal tak aajaengi...tb m kuch finally keh paungi.. pr filhal khatre se bahar h vo.. but..."

Rajveer : but what.??

DOC : Rajveer ye ghaav aaj nhi toh kal bhar jayenge... pr jo chot uski himmat ko..uske  mann me lagi h... usey thik krna hoga.. vo abhi sabse daregi ... bhaagegi.. aisi situation me patient ko handle krna mushkil ho jata h..kisi ki ek bat usey wapas us trauma me dhakel sakti h... n i strictly warn you as a friend and suggest you as a doctor, keep her out of all this! u hv to make sure ki Abhi usey is sab se dur rakha jaaye.. i dont want ki usey kuch bhi yaad dilaya jaye..
ye dunia ajib h.. in chizo ko lekar logo ko baate krna bda pasand hota h.. vo hamdardi bhi dikhaate h aur saath hi saath nicha bhi mehsus karaatey hai... unhe bs bolne se mtlb hota h.. bhle hi unki baate jhelne wale ki sun sunkar taklif se jaan chli jaye.. mai nhi chahti ki Naina ko aur problems ka saamna krna pdey...just keep her away from all this.

Rajveer sighed in response n pursing his lips, he leaned back to his chair,  thinking deeply about the situation.

Rajveer : Thank you Ritika! For being a saviour. I hope tum yaha sambhal logi?

He asked her indirectly about the privacy of Naina's case.

Doc : Bilkul.. as a doctor , my patient needs this much privacy n m ready to provide it !

He walked towards Naina's room, thinking deeply n banged with Alekh.

"Sirrrr?"

"Hmmm"

"Kya kaha doctor ne?"

Rajveer told him everything, n Alekh nodded.
"Apun bhi is baat ka khaas khyal rakhega sir."

"Alekh... I need a favor! Mujhe jana hoga Alekh... tum naina ka khyal rakhna.. tum rakhoge na? I know tum rakhoge!"

Without listening to Alekh's  reply,Rajveer turned to leave with heavy steps, unaware of his coming future. He stopped in his tracks , when a hand held him by his shoulder.

"Sir ... jaane se pehle...aap Naina se nhi milenge....??...??"

"NAHI!"

His eyes welled up bcz of the pain she is going through n him not being able to stand by her side in time of need. Only he knows how difficult it is for him to stay away from her at this critical moment. Only he knows the pain he is going through as he is leaving a part of his soul with his Naina,  right here in this hospital. Only he knows....

He walked out of the hospital with heavy steps.

Surajkund Police station....

Putting the gun down on the table of the police officer,

"Mera nam Major Rajveer Singh Shekhawat hai. Maine abhi kuch der pehle Surajkund k ek godown me, major puneet malhotra ko shoot kr dia hai. He's dead! N m here to surrender!"
