RNHS Chapter 13

After the initial greetings, Rajveer and Naina settle down at the sitting area. Her parents notice how she chooses to sit next to Rajveer over sitting with one of her parents or letting them to sit with Rajveer.

No, she didn't seem to be excited about her sitting with Rajveer, nor was she upset about it. It happened involuntary, more like a reflex action. As if out of habit. When in academy they work as team - mentor and protégée they usually stay together for the whole day long, hence she didn't realize how it must look like if done at her home; in front of her parents.

Rajveer on the other hand doesn't fail to notice this and his heart skips a beat. He widens his eyes and slowly turns to look towards Naina's parents. As he finds them staring at him already, he goes crimson red. Giving a shy and apologetic smile, he quickly lowers his eyes.

Laughing lovingly, Naina's father asks him,

"Aur batao beta...",

he pauses and asks,

"Main tumhe beta bula sakta hun na?",

and smiles apologetically and politely.

Naina's and Rajveer's hearts skip a beat each. Naina's smile vanishes immediately, as she could feel her father's dilemma. Rajveer's state was no better but being a master of communication and strategy, he didn't let his touched feeling to come on his face and hence make her parents all the more guilty about it.

Rajveer realizes that he needs to change the sudden tensed environment into a light one. Hence, instead of replying in a normal way saying 'ji', he chooses to reply a bit differently.

Smiling politely, he asks Naina's parents rather than reply,

"Agar Naina ki jagah aaj main Naveen ke saath yahan aata..."

The whole of Ahluwalia family goes numb and straightens up on hearing his words.

Rajveer does notice the sudden change in their attitude. And no denial he had already anticipated that, so it didn't come as a surprise for him.

"To kya aap tab bhi mujhse ye baat puchte?",

he asks, smiling lightly.

His words succeed in touching the hearts of Naina's parents. Their eyes brim with tears of love and admiration for Rajveer. They smile too at the same time. Their chest swells with pride on realizing that finally someone from the same academy which declared their son as traitor, is mentioning about their son with love, admiration, gratitude, respect.

In a state of numbness, the only thing Naina and Naveen's father could do is shake his head lightly, his eyes lowered and a smile of satisfaction, pride and love on his face. Naina's mother too gets emotional, but controls somehow.

Slowly, keeping a check on Naina's parents that they are not looking towards him, Rajveer turns his head a little towards Naina, and slowly raises his eyes to look towards her to know how is she feeling. He was sure his words must have affected her equally as it affected her parents.

Naina who was staring Rajveer with so much affection in her eyes for him, quickly lowers her eyes as his sudden stare comes as a surprise for her and she doesn't again look back towards him. But Rajveer waits for her to look back again, even if for some moments. But she doesn't, completely aware of the fact that his eyes are constant on her. Realizing that she won't look back, Rajveer gives up his hope and turns to look back towards her parents, smiling politely.

He realizes that he must leave now. He turns towards her parents and folding his hands into a namaste he says,

"Sir ab main chalta hun."

His sudden words come as a surprise for all of them. May be shock for Naina!

She stares him wide eye.

"Chalta hun?",

she asks, staring him throughout out of shock.

She couldn't elaborate in front of her parents. But she knows that he would understand her feelings.

Rajveer looks towards Naina. His heart clenches as he realizes how she must be feeling because he too is feeling same.

"Haan beta? Itni jaldi?",

asks Naina's father.

Tearing his gaze from Naina, Rajveer turns to look towards her father.

"Ji Sir wo... main yahan kisi kaam se aya tha actually, so ab main apki ijazzat chahunga.",

smiles Rajveer, politely.

Before Naina's father could say anything, Naina speaks up,

"Konsa kaam?"

Rajveer turns to look towards Naina, by her look he could make out how annoyed she must be right now. Rajveer decides instead of answering her, he should turn towards her parents and answer. He turns towards her parents and begins,

"Ji wo...",

but Naina intervenes,

"Mujhe dekh kar baat kijiye!",

looking straight towards Rajveer and her tone is serious, no nonsense type!

Her demanding demeanor comes as a surprise for all of them.

Rajveer looks towards her for some moments out of shock. He finds himself in an awkward situation. Then he again turns towards her parents, smiling a little, politely. Smiling, her parents gives him a polite understanding nod. On getting their permission, he again turns to look towards Naina,

"Naveen ke case se related."

This again comes as a surprise for her parents but not for Naina.

"I knew!",

she says, taking a deep breath, folding her arms over her chest.

Naina looks towards his folded hands, and orders him,

"Pehle ye haath neeche kijiye!"

It's then Rajveer realizes that he is still in the same position, his hand folded into a namaste. He feels stupid of himself. He quickly puts his hand down.

"Mujhe pehle hi shaq tha ke zarur apke dimag mein koi khurafat chal raha hoga jab apne kaha tha ke aap hi mujhe chorne jayenge. You didn't even let me to argue on that!",

she says, sternly.

This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. He slowly looks towards her parents. How could she say all that in front of them? It's personal between Rajveer and Naina, for heavens sake!

"Naina...!!!",

Rajveer indicates her to stay quiet. After all it's their personal matter. He indicatates through his eyes about the presence of her parents there.

"Wo mere Ma Baba hain, it's okay.",

scolds Naina, loudly and clearly, looking straight into his eyes, with no hesitation.

This makes Rajveer all the more uncomfortable.

Naina's parents look towards each other, pursing their lips, controlling their amusement. Then turns to look towards Rajveer and Naina.

Rajveer gives up all his curtosy that he was showing till now. But then Naina is demanding that from him, he can't be blamed now if something wrong he does now. Nodding his head lightly thrice in quick succession, glaring Naina throughout, pissed off, Rajveer says,

"Fine!",

still trying to control his anger but glaring her.

"Pucho kya janna hai?",

asks Rajveer, fully in a mood to argue back.

Taking a deep breath, as if collecting all her anger and frustration towards him, Naina looking straight towards him, asks him,

"Jab apne mujhe kaha, no I am sorry, order diya ke aap bhi mere saath chalenge, mujhe yahan chorne, were you already clear about the fact that you would investigate about Bhaiya?"

"No!",

he says, plainly, looking straight into her eyes, in a no nonsense way.

This skips Naina's heartbeat. Her determination to ask further questions, shakes. Blush creeps on her face. She slowly lowers her eyes. Her heartbeat picks up pace.

Rajveer notices all that and finds it amusing! But he chooses to keep his feeling of amusement to himself.

Knitting his brows intentionally, to plaster a serious look on his face, he asks her,

"Ab kyun chup ho gayi?"

(Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Naina looks towards him. An apologetic smile creeps on her lips.

"Nahi... Nahi... Pucho... Pucho... I am sure you must be having a list to interrogate!",

he scolds and teases her both at the same time.

Standing at their places, Naina's parents enjoy witnessing their argument and they don't take any step to end it. They could feel that now there has been a thin line drawn between them and their daughter. And irony is that they don't feel bad about it at all. They rather feel relieved!

Now this time Naina indicates him about her parents' presence there. Rajveer who succeeds in understanding her indication, teases her loudly,

"Role reversal?"

The smirk on his face, does amazing things to Naina's inside. They realize that Naina's parents mustn't have understood the exchange that took place just now between them!

Naina keeps staring him, shyly.

Rajveer realizes that he needs to end this as it's awkward to be in such situation in front of Naina's parents, not only for him but for Naina too.

Whilst turning to look towards her parents, Rajveer says,

"Mujhe chota sa kaam hai, main kuch dino ki leave par yahan aya hun. Kuchi duri mein mere ek jaankar ka ghar hai, wohi rahunga. Agar Naina chahe to main jab jaunga tab mere saath academy wapas laut sakti hai. Aur agar usse aur rehna ho to wo bhi is okay.",

smiles Rajveer, politely, looking towards Naina's parents.

Her parents look towards each other.

"To beta iske liye tumhe kahin aur jane ki kya zarurat hai? Yahin rehlo na humare saath?",

suggests Naina's father, politely.

Rajveer and Naina turn serious, blushing.

Rajveer turns his head a little towards Naina, but doesn't look towards her openly, in front of her parents. He uses his peripheral vision to read her reaction to it. He could sense the sudden increase in the rate of her heartbeat. The way it is expanding and contracting at quick succession.

"Ji... main yahan kaise???",

asks Rajveer, hesitantly, looking towards Naina's father.

Her father smiles and patting Rajveer's face lovingly says,

"Tum bhi to humare liye Naveen jaise ho?"

Rajveer feels the patting of Naina's father, taking it as his blessing. After all not everyday he gets patted by a fatherly figure.... a father!

Naina looks towards him sheepishly, worried to know his reaction to it. Hoping for a yes!

Rajveer doesn't look towards Naina this time, he rather looks towards Naveen's photo frame hanging on the wall. He stares him for sometime. All turn to look towards the direction Rajveer is looking. Their hearts swell Smiling, lowering their eyes, Naina's parents look back towards Rajveer. Waiting to know his decision. Naina too looks towards him, a bit nervously.

"Theek hai! Main yahan rukne ke liye...",

he accepts finally, he looks towards Naina, through the corner of his eyes and completes,

"Taiyar hun!!!"

(Rajveer-Naina's flute tune begins)

Naina's heart flutters with joy.

Rajveer through the corner of his eyes notices the expansion and contraction of Naina's chest in quick succession.

Her state of shyness and nervousness, doesn't escape Rajveer's eyes.

Naina's parents smile wide on hearing that.

"Ahmm... beta tum thak gaye hoge. Kuch der aram karna chahte ho?",

asks Naina's mother, lovingly.

"Ahmm.... Ji nahi aunty actually main pehle ek baar wo kaam khatam kar lena chahta hun. To... Agar aap bura na mane to main abhi ijaazat chahunga. But kaam khatam hote hi wapas aa jaunga.",

smiles Rajveer.

"Theek hai beta. Jaisi tumhari ichha.",

smiles Naina's mother.

"Kuch kha to lo?",

she asks, politely.

"Ahmm... Main akar khata hun. Aap log please kha lijiyega agar mujhe aney mein der ho jaye to.",

says Rajveer, politely.

"Theek hai.",

smiles Naina's mother.

"But before that... I would like to use the washroom.",

says Rajveer, smiling.

"Oh haan sure.",

says Naina's father.

He was about to take him towards the washroom that his phone rings. He asks Naina to show Rajveer the washroom. Naina's mother goes to the kitchen leaving behind Rajveer and Naina alone.

Rajveer and Naina look towards each other, hesitantly. So many thoughts; so many feelings surface their hearts with in seconds.

Naina could feel her ears emitting heat, out of nervousness.

She shows him the washroom attached to her room.

While he uses the washroom, Naina sits on one of the edges of her bed and feels the fact that Rajveer is in her room. She blushes profusely, thinking so.

Rajveer catches her off guard, blushing, as he exits the washroom.

He looks towards Naina, smiling quizzically.

Naina's smile vanishes out of nervousness, she gets up quickly and walks up past him, never looking towards him out of shyness, saying,

"Main abhi aati hun."

Rajveer understands her state and doesn't stop her. He shakes his head, laughing secretly.

He was about to leave the room that a thought enters his mind. He looks towards the place of bed where Naina sat moments ago. His heartbeat picks up pace as he decides to do what he has in mind. It sounds to him childish and stupid. But he realizes he has never done that before and at this particular moment, he is desperate to do! Hence, not giving it a second thought, for once he decides to do his heart's desire.

Reaching the bed, where she had been sitting moments ago, he rubs his hand over it, smiling lovingly, cherishing her presence there.

"Arey Rajveer beta!",

Naina's father's sudden voice, skips his heartbeat and he almost loses his balance.

"Ji... Ji Sir?",

he says, nervously, still not looking towards Naina's father.

"Kuch gir gaya hai kya wahan?",

asks Naina's father, as he discovers Rajveer rotating his hand on the bed.

Before he could say anything, her father adds,

"Koi baat nahi, Naina saaf kar degi."

Rajveer widens his eyes, as Naina's father's words skip his heartbeat. The thought that what would happen if Naina comes to know what he was doing, drains the blood out of his face!

"Nahi... Nahi Sir... Kuch nahi hua... Everything is fine Sir...!",

Rajveer says, rather clumsily, thinking about Naina's reaction.

Naina happens to reach the room at that moment.

"Kya hua?",

she asks the gentlemen, knitting her brows.

"Koi problem hai?",

she asks.

"Nahi wo beta....",

her father begins to explain, dragging Naina's attention.

A terrified Rajveer gets up and reaches them immediately and intervenes,

"Nahi... Nahi Naina... Koi problem nahi hai.",

and plasters a smile on his face, looking straight towards Naina.

Naina finds it weird.

Rajveer realizes that to escape this situation he needs to escape from this house.

"Ahmmm... Main... Main chalta hun Sir.",

he asks for his leave.

"Theek hai beta.",

smiles Naina's father.

Naina stares him, knitting her brows, something is up with him, she realizes.

Rajveer nervously looks towards her. Naina still fails to understand what's the matter and chooses to leave the topic.

She gestures secretly that the second button of his shirt is also undone. Rajveer follows her gesture and finds his button undone. Feeling shy in front of her father, he quickly does the button. Smiling, he leaves.

His father returns back to his room.

Naina walks with him to the door.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina piano key tune begins)

Naina walking a little behind him, wonders how to say what she wants to say.

Rajveer walking ahead, also falls in a dilemma about what should he say at this situation?

He doesn't understand what's get into him, he smiles naughtily and undoes the button again. And turns on purpose, greeting Naina,

"Ok Naina, baad mein milte hain. Bye!"

Naina looks up towards him, whilst saying,

"Jaldi...",

the sight in front of her makes her to go numb all of a sudden.

He usually keeps the collar button undone, she knows that. This one is additional!

"Apka button...",

she points towards his button, hesitantly.

"Hmm... What about it?",

asks Rajveer, looking towards his button but acting to be oblivious of what she wants to say.

"Aap... do (2) buttons nahi khol kar rakhte!",

Naina tells him.

Rajveer, looking towards her, knitting his brows, as if this little piece of information is a surprise for him, asks

"Really?"

Naina takes a deep breath out of anger, glaring him.

Rajveer purses his lips, realizing her state.

"What do you mean really? Ye baat apko pata honi chahiye ya mujhe?",

she scolds him, keeping her voice under check, aware of the presence of her parents at home.

"Being my point!",

says Rajveer, indicating with his right hand's index finger.

"Ye baat to mujhe pata honi chahiye. Tumhe kaise pata?",

he asks her, teasingly, staring her throughout, smiling infectiously.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins as Rajveer stares a nervous and blushing Naina)

"Itna dhyan deti ho mujh par?",

he asks, lowering his voice.

Naina's cheeks start warming.

"Ye tha distraction tumhara?",

he asks her.

This skips Naina's heartbeat and increases her blush.

"Hmmm??",

he prompts, softly, lovingly.

Naina realizes that she needs to stop this, it's her home after all.

Looking towards him, she asks,

"Apko der nahi ho rahi?"

Rajveer understands that she doesn't want to answer, out of shyness.

Smiling, he arches a brow. Staring her throughout he buttons up the second button.

"Aur kuch?",

he asks after doing that.

Naina looks towards him, transmitting all her feelings for him through her eyes.

"Jaldi ayiyega.",

she says softly.

"Aap jane dengi to zarur aa jaunga jaldi.",

teases Rajveer.

They stare each other.

Turning, Rajveer leaves.

~*~*~

After few hours it turns dark and starts raining heavily. Naina stands by the window, her back inclined against left wall at the window side, her right arm resting under the left erected arm, and left hand playing with her chain unconsciously. Looking out at the heavily dripping water, she sileny prays for Rajveer's safe return.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina's piano key tune begins)

"Naina, maine khana utar diya hai gas par se. Ab jaise hi Rajveer ata hai to hum kha lenge.",

says Naina's mother, coming out of the kitchen.

"Hmm...",

replies Naina, unconsciously, her mind on Rajveer.

Naina's mother reaches her. Rotating her hand on Naina's head, she tells her lovingly,

"Tu chinta mat kar wo aa jayega jaldi."

Naina looks towards her mother and smiles. They both understand how much Rajveer means to both of them.

"Main aur tere Baba kuch der aram kar lete hain. Wo jaise hi aye humein utha diyo, fir saath mein dinner karenge.",

smiles Naina's mother.

"Ma, aap aur Baba dinner karlo na, main unke liye wait kar lungi. Waise bhi mujhe bhook nahi hai abhi.",

suggests Naina.

"Nahi beta. Khana to hum Rajveer ke saath hi khayenge.",

says her father, entering the living area, removing his spectacles.

Her mother smiles too.

"Haan beta mera bhi mann nahi karega apne bete ke bina khane ka.",

says her mother.

Naina's eyes brim with tears of joy.

She hugs her mother. Her mother hugs her back lovingly.

Then she hugs her father, he too reciprocates the same gesture.

Doing so, they leave for their room.

After few hours Naina through the window discovers him returning back. It still hasn't stopped raining. In fact the velocity of rain has increased.

Before he could press the bell, Naina pulls the door open for him.

Rajveer's heart skips a beat at the sudden opening of the door.

They keep staring each other.

(Rajveer-Naina slow piano key tune begins)

Naina holding him by his left wrist pulls him in.

Closing the door behind him, she asks him to sit on one of the chairs of dining table.

"Tum soyi nahi?",

he asks, rather too loudly.

"Shhh...",

Naina indicates him to keep his voice low, placing her index finger on her lips, widening her eyes.

Rajveer lipses 'sorry'!

Naina shakes her head.

Naina turns to go back into her room, that Rajveer suddenly holds her wrist. This skips Naina's heartbeat and blush creeps on her face. She turns to know why did he do that!

"Kahan ja rahi ho?",

asks Rajveer, keeping his voice low. His forehead bearing lines of tension.

"Main abhi...",

before she could complete her line, Rajveer intervenes, scolding her,

"Main tabse intezaar kar raha tha ke main kab ghar pohnchun aur tumhare saath time spend karun. Aur ab jab main aa gaya hun, aur abhi koi hai bhi nahi humein disturb karne ke liye, to tum ja rahi ho?" ,

Rajveer stares her, disappointed.

"Bilkul patience nahi hai na aap mein? Towel lene ja rahi hun. Geele hue hue hain aap. Baal sukhane ke liye. Uske baad aap change kar lena.",

scolds Naina.

Rajveer feels guilty and blushes.

His smiles swells Naina's heart, but she keeps her angry look intact.

Naina again turns to leave, Rajveer again holds her hand.

(Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

He stares her possessively, smiling naughtily. Naina tries to pull her hand free of his hold, but fails of course.

Naina tries again but fails.

"Chodiye koi aa jayega.",

scolds Naina, lovingly.

Rajveer laughs noiselessly and leaves her.

Shaking her head, blushing, Naina leaves.

Soon she reaches with the towel and forwards it to him.

Rajveer ignores taking it from her. He rather taking a deep breath, relaxes back on the chair closing his eyes.

Naina knits her brows initially, wondering why did he behave that way?

Then suddenly her expression changes, her heart skips a beat as she realizes what does he wants!!

She looks towards her parent's room nervously, and finds it closed.

She looks back towards a relaxed Rajveer.

Lowering her eyes, biting her lips to calm down her nerves, she says in a low voice, hesitantly,

"Please... Ma Baba aa gaye to?"

Rajveer still sitting in the same position opens his eyes.

Naina who was feeling shy, standing with her head bowed didn't realize that in case he opens his eyes, the first thing his eyes will meet is her eyes!!! And as it does happen, her heart skips a beat!!! Making her go red out of shyness.

This makes Rajveer to laugh, as he realizes that she didn't realize this coming! She didn't use her brain out of nervousness!!!

Getting normal Rajveer asks,

"Aur Ma Baba nahi aye to? Won't it be exciting?",

his voice shows his excitement.

Naina narrows her eyes on him. This makes Rajveer to laugh.

They keep staring each other. They are at this moment in such a position like - Rajveer resting his head against the chair, his face facing the ceiling and Naina is standing behind his chair, her face bend on his face!

"Paas aao!",

he whispers, all serious, never looking away from Naina.

Naina feeling extremely shy, shakes her head into negative and could only manage to say,

"Please..."

But try how hard she might, but she fails to depart herself from him. His constant gaze does amazing things to her insides. She realizes that today the velocity of the feeling is more than other times as they are isolated and in Naina's home, their home!

"Paas aao Naina...",

he demands again.

"Koi aa jayega...",

says Naina again, nervously.

"Isliye bol raha hun, jaldi aao!",

he replies back, all serious.

Naina finally submits to his demand.

She bends a little into him.

"Aur paas...",

he whispers, now that she is closer to him, it's easily audible to her.

Naina's legs start turning jelly.

She slowly gets more into him.

As her cheek reaches near to his left cheek, he turns his face a little towards right such that his left cheek rubs against her right cheek!

It's the first time Naina feels how his cheek feels like when rubbed against hers!

She hisses,

"...Chhh..."

Her heart beating at a tremendous speed.

Rajveer could feel her cheek warming up more because of her blush than because of the friction his and her cheeks are creating.

He shifts a little in his seat to change the position a little, that Naina, stops him, whispering,

"Aur nahi please... Mujhe bohot darr lag raha hai."

Rajveer understands her situation. Smiling politely, he accepts her decision.

She quickly wipes off his wet hair, something he enjoys dearly.

Having completed with that she gets away and says,

"Aap change kar lijiye. Main khana lagati hun. Ma Baba ne bhi khana nahi khaya, unhe bhi utha deti hun."

"Kya Ma Baba khana nahi khaya?",

asks Rajveer, sitting straight, knitting his brows, all serious.

His addressing them as Ma Baba, swells Naina's heart.

"Ahmmm... Maine bola tha unhe kha lene ko. Par wo apke saath hi khana chahte the.",

says Naina.

Rajveer closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. He looks towards Naveen, smiling, he shakes his head, as if telling him - 'now I know what is your family like!'

Smiling, sighing, he gets up and walks towards their room.

He slowly pushes it open and finds them awake already.

"Aap log jage hue hain, to bahar kyun nahi ayein?",

he asks them, surprised.

Naina gets surprised too.

"Hum bus abhi abhi jagey hain beta. Ho gaya kaam tumhara?",

smiles Naina's father.

Rajveer smiles, awkwardly.

"I am sorry meri wajah se aap logo ka dinner bhi late ho gaya. Par aap logo ne kha kyun nahi liya? Main abhi Naina se yahi bol raha tha.",

says Rajveer.

"Beta akele akele kha kha kar dil ubh gaya hai. Socha sub mil kar hi khate hain. Aur humein koi pareshani nahi hui. Ab to Naina academy mein hi rehti hai. To humara khana aise hi kabhi bhi ho jata hai. Jab mann kiya kha liya.",

says Naina's mother.

Rajveer looks towards her and says,

"Nahi Aunty, khana to aap logo ko time par khana chahiye. Health ke saath koi mazak nahi hona chahiye. Apke dono bache army se belong karte hain, at least aap logo ko to ye baat samjhni chahiye? Discipline in food hours?",

asks Rajveer, knitting his brows, scolding them mildly.

Naina stands at her place, next to Rajveer, not daring to intervene when he is using that strict tone of his.

Naina's parents look towards each other, smiling lightly. Then looking back towards Rajveer, they rectify him in unison,

"Dono nahi teeno!"

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

And they look towards both Rajveer
and Naina; and then towards Naveen's picture.

Their words come as a surprise for Rajveer, he goes numb and lowers his eyes.

Naina's mother spreads her arms for him. Rajveer's eyes turn teary. The same happens with the remaining three too. Rajveer looks towards Naina. Naina understands that at this moment he needs her encouragement, roles reversal again!
Rajveer finally hugs Naveen's; Naina's and his mother, pouring all his love for her through the hug.

Together they all reach dining table for dinner.

Naina's mother was about to go to the kitchen when Naina stops her saying,

"Ma! Tum rehne do, main karti hun serve. Tum baitho aram se."

Naina's father and Rajveer smiles on Naina's gesture.

"Meera, humari beti wakayi badi ho gayi hai. Shadi wadi ke barey mein sochna padhega ab, mujhe lagta hai?",

teases Naina's father, looking towards Naina and Rajveer, through the corner of his eyes.

"Hmm... Waise baat to aap sahi keh rahe hain!",

says Naina's mother.

Naina feels shy and leaves for the kitchen.

Rajveer blushes too.

This makes the parents to laugh.

Soon all of them settle down on the dining table for dinner. Naina becomes the last to sit, after serving all.

"Waise mujhe nahi pata tha ke Cadet Naina...",

begins Rajveer, teasing her openly about something but as he reaches these words, Naina looks towards him in shock. Widening her eyes, she shakes her head into negative, indicating him to not address her as - Cadet Naina Ah Singh in front of her parents.

Rajveer enjoys her state of nervousness, and a smile comes on his face. Taking pity on her, he says,

"Cadet Naina ko banduk uthane ke alawa ghar ke kaam karne bhi aate hain."

He completes looking towards Naina seductively. Naina blushes and shakes her head into negative in slow succession, staring him throughout. Rajveer laughs silently.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Never looking away from her, he asks,

"Waise kya aap logo ne apni beti ko ek aam ladki ki tarah... saree pehne hue dekha hai??"

Naina's state of shock and blush knows no bounds on hearing his words.

(Rajveer-Naina fast tune begins)

"Kahan beta? Main to taras gayi hun isse saree pehne hue dekhne ke liye.",

says her mother sadly.

Naina's heartbeat picks up pace.

Slapping the table with both his hands in unison, he turns towards Naina's mother, the sudden sound skips the heartbeats of all present there. As Rajveer realizes this, blushing, he apologizes,

"Sorry..."

All smile. Naina shakes her head.

"To kyun na apki manokamna aaj, yahan, issi waqt puri kar di jaye?",

asks Rajveer, teasingly, arching a brow, looking towards Naina's parents.

Naina stares him in disbelief.

"Nahi... Aap... Aap chup rahiye...!",

scolds a nervous Naina.

All turn to look towards Naina.

"Naina... Ye tum kaise baat kar rahi ho Rajveer se?",

scolds her father.

Naina lowers her eyes out of hesitation.

Rajveer with a naughty smile on his face, looks towards Naina.

Then he again plasters a serious face, remembering the presence of her parents.

"Dekha na uncle, kaise baat karti hai ye mujhse jab gusse mein hoti hai?",

he acts to be innocent.

Naina stares him in utter disbelief. This man knows no bounds!!!

"Naina...",

her father gives her a stern look.

Naina stares him, shocked.

"Kya??",

she asks, gesturing with her hand.

"Aap mere Baba hai ya inke?",

she asks, pissed off.

Rajveer enjoys witnessing her state of anger and purses his lips to control his fit of laughter.

"Mere!",

Rajveer dares to reply.

Naina glares him.

Stomping her foot out of anger, she says,

"Fine...!"

And as she does that, the cloud roars loudly.

Rajveer looks out sitting at his place.

"Dekho Naina tumne itna gussa dikhaya ki badal hi darr gaye!",

says Rajveer, shielding his humor behind it, perfectly.

This makes her parents to laugh.

The rain pours heavily outside.

Glaring him one last time, when he too looks towards her, but lovingly, Naina leaves for her room in order to wear saree.

Before she could reach her room the electricity fails.

"Ohhoo...",

says Naina's mother.

"Mausam aisa hai na to bijli to jani hi thi.",

says her father.

"Kitna sannata aur andhera ho gaya hai.",

says her father.

"Meera jao jakar candles le aao."

"Main... Main leta hun uncle.",

volunteers Rajveer.

"Arey rehne do beta. Tumhe ghar ka naksha nahi pata. Meera kone kone se wakif hai. Andhere mein bhi raasta dhundh legi.",

smiles Naina's father.

"Haan beta, Naina ke Baba bilkul theek keh rhe hain. Tum rehne do.",

says her mother.

Rajveer smiles, though Naina's parents remain oblivious to his smile because of the darkness. He says,

"Aap ek soldier se baat kar rahi hain aunty. Hum soldiers ki pehle adat ye hoti hai ke jahan jaye wahan ka kona kona apni ankhon se scan karlein."

Smiling, he assures them,

"Aap fikr mat kijiye, main apna raasta dhund lunga."

And he does get the road to the kitchen, of course with the help of mobile torch. He searches for the candle. He finally succeeds in getting the candle, igniting it, he turns to leave for the sitting area that the loud thunder storm reminds him of Naina. Is she fine?

He instead of walking towards the sitting area, walks towards Naina's room.

He knocks lightly and calls her out,

"Naina??"

"Ji...",

comes Naina's instant reply.

"Are you fine?",

asks Rajveer.

Naina walks closer to the door and in a low voice asks him,

"Kya aap akele hain?"

Rajveer turns behind to make sure that he indeed is alone. With the help of the candle he checks and replies to Naina,

"Haan!"

"Mujhe saree pehnne mein problem aa rahi hai. Aap Ma ko bhej denge zara?",

says Naina.

Rajveer slaps his forehead! In fraction of seconds his mind had wandered to so many places. He finds himself to be stupid of having thought all that. He blushes on realizing his stupidity.

"Andhera bhi hai, filhal to main waise bhi theek se pehn nahi paungi. And the problem is I am half done with it. Mujhe samjh nahi aa raha ke pehnu ya utar dun!",

says Naina in dilemma.

As she utters those words, she holds her tongue in between her teeth, realizing the blooper.

"I... I mean, pehnu ya change kar lun?",

she shuts her eyes tightly, feeling thoroughly embarrassed at her stupidity.

Rajveer on the other hand on hearing her words -

'Mujhe samjh nahi aa raha ke pehnu ya utar dun!',

gets shocked initially. But soon a naughty smile creeps on his face.

He on purpose repeats her words,

"Waise Naina I guess since andhera hai so tumhe dono mein se jo bhi karogi thodi problem ho sakti hai. So agar tum kaho to main aa jaun help karne? Pehnane mein ya.... utarne....",

he says naughtily.

Naina gets shocked to hear his words. Her heartbeat picks up pace.

"Aap... Hum....",

she fails to create a proper sentence.

Rajveer laughs secretly.

Just to tease her, he adds,

"Humara....!!!"

Saying so he purses his lips.

Naina blushes harder.

"Aap... Aap jaiye yahan se... Mujhe apki madad ki zarurat nahi.",

scolds Naina.

"Pakka?",

teases Rajveer, hiding his amusement.

But Naina realizes it anyways.

"Ji haan pakka. Ab jaiye yahan se!",

she shows her fake anger.

"Okay as you wish!",

says Rajveer.

And everything goes quiet.

For moments Naina stays quiet, trying to feel that he really has left. Then just to make sure, she asks, slowly, doubtfully,

"Aap hain?"

"Ji haan bilkul hun!",

he says with full confidence.

Naina's heart skips a beat. She places her hand on her chest calming her heartbeat down.

Rajveer laughs understanding her state.

Naina glares him, although aware that he can't see her. She actually feels glad about it because the state she is in, she doesn't want him to see her!! Or does she?? - the thought makes her to blush!!

Naina realizes she really needs someone's help. She considers asking his help. Then suddenly she remembers and asks,

"Aap... Apko kya pata hai saree ke barey mein? Aap apne books aur rifles aur bombs and all se bahar aye bhi honge I wonder!"

Rajveer arches a brow, smiling.

Acting to be hurt and angry, Rajveer says,

"Naina ab tum mujhe underestimate kar rahi ho. Hato ab to main tumhe dikha kar rahunga ke Rajveer kis khet ki muli hai."

Naina who wasn't aware that he had been holding a candle in his hand and hence wouldn't dare to barge into her room, opens the door of the room, fearing that all that would create a lot of noise.

Peeping from behind the door as she opens it, she looks towards Rajveer, hesitantly. Her face bear no smile. Rather he could feel her nervousness. He understands that it's because of her current state and his presence there.

The candle light is the only source of light for them. Rajveer sees her face and feels the candle light is making her to look all the more beautiful. His heartbeat picks up pace as he finds this situation intimate.

Naina stares him hesitantly. She whispers,

"Ma Baba nahi aa rahe na?"

Rajveer shakes his head into negative, smiling.

"Ahmm... Naina gimme two minutes I'll help you with this. Main bus ye candle unhe de aun?",

smiles Rajveer, politely.

Naina nods her head into positive.

Smiling, he leaves.

Reaching the dining area he sets the candle and says,

"Ahmm... Naina bhi abhi aati hi hogi. Main uske room mein candle de kar aata hun. Aap log please dinner shuru kar dijiye. Waise hi bohot late ho gaya hai.",

smiles Rajveer politely.

"Beta iss andhere mein ab khana kaise khaya jayega?",

says Naina's mother, sadly.

Rajveer smiles sadly, understanding the situation.

"Waise main Naina ko dekh kar aati hun.",

saying so, Naina's mother was about to get up that Rajveer says,

"Wo... Wo shayad washroom gayi hai. Darasal andhere ki wajah se wo... wo... saree to nahi pehn payi. Maine usse candle de diya hai. Shayad abhi wo washroom mein hai. Wo aa jayegi.",

smiles Rajveer, nervously.

"Acha... Theek hai.",

says her mother, and takes her seat back.

Sighing in relief Rajveer leaves.

Reaching the kitchen he searches for more candles and luckily finds a whole new packet of candles. Smiling, he quickly ignites them all and putting them on a plate, carries the plate to Naina's room.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Rajveer enters Naina's room carrying the plate of candles. Naina quickly covers herself with the saree.

Rajveer stares her, transmitting all his feelings for her through his eyes. Naina's heartbeat picks up pace as she succeeds in understanding all his feelings perfectly.

Rajveer places the plate carrying the candles on a side table and turning back, he walks towards the door and locks it.

Thereafter, he places each of the ten candles he had been carrying, on several corners of the room, hence glowing the room with candles' light.

Naina's face glows as she likes the transformation of the room. She giggles like a small child. For those particular moments she forgets her state!

Rajveer turns to look towards her, his look intense on her.

As Naina looks towards him, his possessive gaze, makes her giggle to vanish and she could feel the adrenaline rush.

Reaching her, he pulls the little part of her saree that she had tugged into her petticoat, in such a manner, as if raping her, never looking away from her eyes. His stare holds her stare, not letting her to look away. But raping and Rajveer, although the initial letter are same, can never be placed in the same sentence together!

Naina feels extremely shy but doesn't protest. Her inside twitches. The fact that she can't lower her eyes, suffocates her. Unable to control her feelings any longer, she finally lowers her eyes.

Rajveer smiles witnessing shy Naina.

Walking closer to her, he starts wrapping the saree around her, tugging it, circling it around her waist. He doesn't make any attempt to touch her skin. Nor does he try to wander his eyes on her exposed body parts. In that way he remains a true gentleman.

Naina shuts her eyes, feeling too shy to witness this, his teasing look.

Rajveer walks closer to her and whispers into her ears,

"Tumne haq diya hai Naina! Tumhare gharwalon ne haq diya hai! Mere gharwalon ne haq diya hai! Haq se kar raha hun!"

Unable to control herself any longer, Naina with her eyes still closed hugs him tightly.

"Ab koi deewar nahi Naina! Ab koi rok nahi!!",

whispers Rajveer, embracing her into a tight hug.

"Car mein apne juzzbaaton ko rok raha tha, majbur tha! Ab koi majburi nahi!!!",

he whispers.

Hearing it Naina smiles and hugs him to her all the more.

As they end the hug, Rajveer scolds her lightly, asking,

"Kya keh rahi thi tum Ma Baba ke samne? Ke tumhe pehle se shaq tha ke mere dimag mein koi khurafatiyan chal rahi hongi?"

Naina blushes hearing that.

"Bohot janne lagi ho mujhe Cadet Naina Ah Singh!",

he teases, tracing her right side face line with his right index finger.

Naina closes her eyes, feeling his touch.

"Distraction ko saath lane ka nateeja dekh liya?",

teases Rajveer.

Naina breathing heavily, stares him intimately. Rajveer smiles seductively, enjoying her look.

Rajveer realizes how vulnerable she is turning with each passing moment.

She tries to launch on to him, but he stops her, holding her hands,

"Ah... Ah... Itne dino se mujhe tadpa rahi thi na chup reh kar? Ab tum tadpo, meri duri seh kar.",

teases Rajveer.

Naina stares him, her heart beating at a tremendous speed. Before he could say something further, Naina launches on him again, getting hold of his lips. Not that Rajveer was not ready. He in fact was ready for her attack. He accepted her kiss graciously. And returns it back to her with full fervor.

Closing their eyes, they enjoy feeling each other's lips, tongue. Tasting each other. As for Rajveer he doesn't only tastes but tests her too! He increases the fervor slowly, Naina takes it graciously. Here goes the first tick in Rajveer's mind! He slowly pulls her hair, lightly. She accepts that too without making any sound. Here's the second tick. He then takes his hand towards her right breast. As she feels his hand on it, she pushes it away.

Never do they stop with their on going work.

Her declining of his touch, sends adrenaline rush inside Rajveer. To make her understand that he didn't really like her refusal, he pinches her lightly on her exposed waist. The sudden pinch comes as a surprise for Naina and hence makes her to moan.

The darkness makes her sound audible all the more. As she moans, Rajveer massages her back to calm her down. The massage creates its magic and succeeds in doing its job.

Soon they get away from each other, breathing heavily.

Calming themselves down, their foreheads touching. Rajveer opens his eyes, smiling and asks,

"Chalein?"

Naina shakes her head into positive, maintaining the same position.

Rajveer leaves her and turns to walk, that she pulls him back and hugs him again, tightly.

(Rajveer-Naina tune begins)

"My first couldn't have been better than this!",

she whispers.

Rajveer understands what first is she talking about. Smiling, he tightens his hold on her.

"Ditto!",

he smiles.

Naina blushes.

"Ab agar Ma Baba se pehli dant nahi khani ek saath, to chalein?",

jokes Rajveer, smiling.

Naina blushes and nods her head into affirmative.

As they reach their parents, Rajveer was about to say something, that Naina intervenes,

"Sorry Baba, kuch saaman gir gaya tha room mein. Bus ussi ko sametne mein time lag gaya."

Their parents don't mind. But looking towards Naina, a smile of joy each comes on their faces. Naina finds it weird. Then suddenly she realizes that their eyes are on her saree. She adjusts a strand of hair behind her ear  out of shyness. Rajveer too understands their emotions seeing their daughter that way. But what he understands more is, their eyes ain't only on Naina but on Rajveer alike. This skips Rajveer's heartbeat. Blushing, he lowers his eyes. He doesn't smile though, out of nervousness.

Naina looks towards Rajveer, unaware of what's going on in the minds of her parents and Rajveer.

Rajveer too looks towards her and smiles politely.

Her mother unable to control her emotions, get up and reaching Naina, holds her by her face, bending her towards herself, she kisses Nina's forehead with so many emotions.

"Meri beti itni barhi kab ho gayi?",

asks her mother, her eyes brimming with tears of joy.

Rajveer lowers his eyes, standing next to Naina, smiling lovingly.

"Isiliye to... Mujhe iski shadi ke barey mein sochna chahiye!",

says her father.

And this skips the heartbeats of Naina and Rajveer alike.

Widening her eyes, Naina scolds her Baba lovingly,

"Baba!!"

Her parents laugh but Rajveer and Naina blush.

Naina slowly looks towards Rajveer, shyly. Rajveer looks back towards her. They transmit their feelings for each other through their eyes.

(Slow Rajveer-Naina flute tune begins)

Slowly, Naina lowers her eyes feeling extremely shy. Rajveer follows the suit.

Finally together they enjoy their candle light dinner.
