Y/N's secret comes out

Calum's P.O.V

Calum opened his eyes slowly and looked around. He looked down, seeing his naked body being covered waist down by his sheets. He looked to his side and smiled as he saw Y/N, still asleep on her front. He placed a kiss on her back before looking around.

"Where's my damn phone?" he mumbled to himself, ruffling his covers and hoping to hear the bang that would signify his phone making contact with the ground. Instead, he heard nothing.

"Fuck." He groaned. He looked at the bedside table on Y/N's side and saw her phone. He leant over her, peppering kisses along her back as he grabbed her phone. He chuckled the home button to check the time. 9:15 am. His eyebrows furrowed as he saw what the lock screen was. His eyes widened as he looked down at Y/N. He looked back at the photo.

"What the fuck?" He mumbled. Suddenly, she started to wake up.

Y/N's P.O.V

I smiled to myself as I felt Calum peppering kisses over my back. I rolled onto my back and opened my eyes.

"Morning." I sighed as I looked at Calum.

"Morning, babe." He mumbled, sitting up with his back against the headboard.

"Something wrong?" I asked as I propped myself onto my elbow so that I was facing him. He opened his mouth but paused briefly before speaking.

"When I woke up, I couldn't find my phone, so I used yours instead to check the time." He started.

"Okay." I spoke.

"And, um...your lock screen is a photo of you with a baby." He spoke, looking at me. My eyes widened as I sat up.

"You saw it?" I gulped. He nodded.

"I saw it. What exactly did I see?" he asked, looking at me. I gulped as I sat up, holding the covers against my bare chest. I took a deep breath.

"Promise that you won't freak out." I spoke.

"Unless it turns out that that's your child and you're actually married with a family, then I promise." He nodded. I sighed.

"That is my child." I admitted. His eyes widened as he sat up more.

"That was a joke, are you fucking kidding me-."

"It's not what you think, Cal-."

"Then what the fuck is it?!" he spat. I sighed as I felt tears welling in my eyes.

"I was in the same position as you, okay?" I choked. His expression changed.

"What?" he asked quietly. I took a deep breath in an attempt to hold in my tears.

"That's why I was so sympathetic about your position when Dove was born." I spoke quietly. He looked at me.

"When I was fifteen, I got a boyfriend. He was sixteen, we thought that we ruled the world." I started. Calum continued to just look at me.

"Just after my sixteenth birthday, I found out that I was pregnant." I admitted. Calum's eyes widened.

"I wanted to keep it, he didn't, so we went through a harsh breakup. I went through my whole pregnancy, plus labour, alone." I continued, Calum watching me with sad eyes.

"I had a son called Charlie. He looked so much like his dad that it hurt." I chuckled slightly but I quickly let it die.

"I thought that I could look after him, I really did. But my parents weren't much help and I couldn't juggle a new-born baby with exams. In the end...he was taken away from me." I admitted, tears silently spilling out of my eyes. Calum immediately engulfed me in a hug.

"I'm so sorry, baby girl...I'm so sorry." He sighed, running his hands through my hair.

"But why didn't you tell me?" he sighed.

"As much as I love him, he's my secret. It's embarrassing to admit that I couldn't look after him. I mean, you had Dove at a young age, and you did an amazing job of raising her." I choked.

"But babe, I was eighteen, you were sixteen. I had two years on you. It's okay, baby girl." He reassured, cradling me in his arms.

"I've been trying to see him." I admitted. He paused and looked at me.

"What?" he asked. I shook my head and looked down.

"I have a friend at the adoption agency that took him when he was a baby. She, um, she knows the family who adopted him." I admitted. Calum's eyes widened slightly.

"Are they not a nice family?" he asked.

"No, they are, they're lovely, I just...I don't know, I want to see him." I shrugged. He sighed.

"That's not how it works, baby girl." He spoke, gently moving a strand of hair out of my face.

"I know." I mumbled. He sighed and nodded before kissing my head and pulling me closer.
