Calum and I walked into the restaurant.

"Wow. This place is nice." I nodded.

"Yeah. It's my favourite place." He smiled. I returned it as we sat down and ordered our food.

"Let's play a game." He spoke, giving me a goofy grin.

"We're a grown-ass pair of adults, what game would we play?" I chuckled.

"The question game. Basically, I ask you a question, you answer, you ask me a question, I answer. It's a good way to get to know people." He shrugged. I nodded and smiled.

"Okay. You first." I spoke.

"When's your birthday?" he asked.

"28th December. Erm, what's your favourite colour?" I asked.

"Lilac, do you have any siblings?"

"No. What's your job?" I asked. He bit his lip.

"I'm in a band." He admitted. I raised an eyebrow.

"What are you, fifteen?" I chuckled. He returned it.

"Actually, we started it when I was fifteen. We're called 5 seconds of summer and we're really getting big now." He nodded. I smiled.

"That's really cool. I've always been a complete music nut." I chuckled.

"Why didn't you use it for a career?" he asked.

"I was going to, but..." I stopped myself. He raised an eyebrow.

"But what?" he asked. I sighed.

"I just...it doesn't matter." I mumbled. He gave me a questioning look.

"You sure?" he asked. I nodded and smiled at him. He returned it.

"Let's eat." He smiled.

"Well, I had an amazing time." I smiled at Calum as we stood on his doorstep.

"So did I. It was nice." He chuckled before an awkward silence filled the air.

"Do you want to come in for a drink?" he asked.

"Sure." I nodded. He returned it before taking out his key and letting us in.

"So, how long is Dove staying with her aunt for?" I asked as I took off my jacket and took a seat on the sofa.

"A week. She'll be back in three days." He shrugged as he sat next to me. I looked at him.

"Can I ask you something, Cal?" I asked. He looked down at me.

"Sure." He nodded. I studied him.

"When Dove got lost, I asked if her mum and dad had ever lost her before, and she said that she didn't have a mum. What happened?" I asked. He sighed, gently rubbing my leg.

"We were both young when Dove was born. I had only just turned eighteen, and my girlfriend was still only seventeen." He started as I nodded along.

"Her mum packed up two hours after she gave birth and just left. She said some pretty shitty things, dropped Dove in my arms and took off." He mumbled.

"Oh, god, Cal, I'm so sorry, I shouldn't have asked." I sighed.

"No it's okay, you didn't know." He reassured. I gave him a small smile.

"I think that I should get going." I spoke, standing up.

"Okay, sure." He nodded as he followed me to the door. I opened it and looked at him.

"Wait." He spoke. I raised my eyebrows at him.

"I just...I really like you. I don't know, just...do you want to do this again? We can still go out twice before Dove gets back." He shrugged. I smiled.

"I would love that. I, um, I really like you too." I admitted. He smiled before cupping my cheek and bringing our faces closer. He gently pressed our lips together. I returned it quickly, wrapping my arms around his waist. He broke the kiss and hovered his lips over mine.

"See you tomorrow, babe." He smiled.

"See you." I bit my lip before leaving.
