~One year later~

"Time for bed, baby girl." Calum spoke at Dove, who was sat on his lap.

"Y/N." she smiled, looking at me. Calum chuckled and shook his head as he looked at me.

"Time for bed." I chuckled. She sighed as Calum lifted her up and started to walk towards her room.

"I want Y/N to tuck me in tonight." Dove spoke. Calum looked at me. I smiled and stood up.

"Okay then. Goodnight, baby girl." He spoke, kissing her cheek before giving her to me. He kissed my head before going back to the sofa. I walked into Dove's room and walked to her bed.

"Okay, honey, time to get into bed." I spoke as I put her down. She climbed into bed and I pulled the covers up.

"Goodnight, princess." I smiled.

"Goodnight, mummy." She yawned as she closed her eyes and rolled over. My eyes widened and my breath hitched. Tears pricked my eyes. Did she just call me what I thought she had? I bit my lip before leaning down and kissing her head. I stood up and walked out back into the living room. Calum looked at me.

"Did she settle down okay?" he asked, putting his hand on my leg. I nodded, slightly zoned out.

"You okay?" he chuckled. I looked up at him and gave him a small smile.

"She just called me mummy." I spoke quietly. His eyes widened.

"She finally called me mummy." I smiled. He returned it.

"That's amazing, babe. She finally sees us as a family." He smiled, hugging me. I nodded and bit my lip.

"As much as I hate to ruin this moment," Calum started, pulling me onto his lap. "It's 9:15, Dove is in bed and I need to give you your early birthday present." He smirked as he started to kiss my neck. I returned the smirk.

"I like where this is going." I breathed, closing my eyes and tilting my head back to give him more access.

"Let's take this to the bedroom." He hummed against my skin as he lifted me up and carried me down the hall. He opened the door and walked us into the bedroom. He put me down on the bed and pulled my top over my head before crawling over me as he kissed up my body. My breath hitched as he kissed over my stomach, working his way back up my body. He sat up and pulled his shirt over his head before joining our lips again. I smirked as I reached up and started to unbuckle his belt, Calum moving his lips to my neck and sucking the skin. I undid the buckle and pulled his jeans down his legs, him doing the same to my shorts. He sat up and pulled his boxers down before hovering over me again.

"You ready, baby girl?" he asked, pulling my underwear down my legs.

"More than ready." I smirked. He returned it before pressing our lips together and slowly pushing inside of me.

I opened my eyes slightly but closed them again as they were met by the bright light of the morning sun. I looked around, smiling at the sight of my naked body wrapped in Calum's sheets. I rolled onto my front and looked at my phone. 9:30 am on the 28th December.

"Happy birthday to me." I mumbled before shutting my eyes. I opened them and smiled as I felt Calum leaning over me, pinning me to the bed as he peppered kisses on my back. My smile widened as he looped his arm under my body, landing his hand on my stomach. He kissed up my back and along my neck.

"Happy birthday, princess." He mumbled, kissing up my neck and onto my face.

"Why thank you." I chuckled as I rolled onto my back.

"How old are you again?" he chuckled. I jokily slapped his arm as I laughed.

"Nah babe, I'm kidding. Twenty-three years young." He grinned, kissing my neck. I sighed.

"I feel older." I mumbled.

"Don't even, baby girl, I'm twenty-four." He chuckled. I returned it.

"So, what's my first birthday present?" I asked.

"I thought that a round two would be a pretty good way to start the day." He smirked, starting to kiss my neck.

"I like the sound of that." I smirked, closing my eyes as I arched my back into Calum's body. Suddenly, the bedroom door opened. Calum quickly rolled off of me and I pulled the covers up as Dove walked in.

"Morning, daddy, happy birthday, mummy!" she squealed.

"Thank you, sweetheart." I smiled as she climbed up onto the bed and crawled onto my lap. I sat up slightly, being careful to cover my bare chest with the sheets.

"I made you this." She spoke, handing me a piece of card folded in half, with "happy birthday!" plastered along the front in different colours.

"Aww, thank you, Dove. That's so kind of you, I love it." I smiled, leaning forward and kissing her cheek before putting the card on the bedside table. She looked between us.

"Why are you both naked?" she asked innocently. My eyes widened and my cheeks reddened as I looked at Calum.

"Um...well...er...time for breakfast, I think." Calum smiled.

"Yay!" Dove squealed before climbing off of the bed and racing out of the room.

"That was too much of a close call." I sighed as Calum sat up and pulled on his boxers.

"Agreed. But don't worry babe, Mali is collecting her later before we go to your party, so we'll have plenty of time later." He smirked, winking at me before leaving the room.

Calum smashed our lips together as we stumbled into our apartment. I giggled as he gripped my hips. I pulled his jacket from his shoulders, prompting him to quickly shake it off as he kept our lips together. I let him deepen the kiss as he slipped his tongue into my mouth.

"Wait, wait." He muttered, breaking the kiss. I looked at him.

"Is something wrong, babe?" I asked.

"No, no, not at all, this is perfect. But as much as I love where this is going, I did have one present that I promised myself that I would give to you tonight." He spoke. I looked at him. He took a deep breath before taking something out of his pocket and getting down on one knee. My eyes widened as he opened a velvet box to reveal a stunning diamond ring.

"Y/N, I knew that I loved you from the moment that I laid eyes on you. I know that it sounds so cliché, but it's true. You took my daughter in when she needed it. You took our daughter in. And I can never thank you enough for it. That's just one of the things that I absolutely love about you. So, Y/N," he spoke.

"Will you marry me?"
