Dove Hood
Calum's P.O.V
Calum looked at the plastic hospital cot that his baby girl was lying in. He gulped as he stared at her. She was the most beautiful thing that he had ever laid eyes upon, but he just couldn't believe that she was his. After all, he was only eighteen, and her mum was only seventeen. He sighed, rubbing his hands over his face.
"Get a grip, Calum, that's your daughter. She's yours." He mumbled to himself.
"And she's beautiful." He smiled gently. He walked towards her and starting to lean down.
"Hey, baby girl." He smiled gently as he lifted her up. She gurgled slightly as she settled in his arms, fidgeting but her movements were restrained by the blanket that she was wrapped in.
"You're so beautiful, my little princess." He whispered, wiggling a finger in front of her face.
"I love you so much, baby Hood. I love you so much." He smiled.
"Let's go see mummy." He spoke to her as he placed her back into the cot. He wheeled it out of the nursery and along the hospital corridor. He opened the door to Sarah's maternity suite and wheeled the cot in. He looked up and his eyes widened slightly as Sarah was already getting dressed.
"Babe, I don't think that you should be out of bed, you gave birth two hours ago." Calum scoffed.
"Well, I want to get out of here." She shrugged.
"We're going so soon?" he asked. She looked at him.
"I am. I frankly don't give a shit what you do." She shrugged as she grabbed her bag. Calum's eyebrows furrowed.
"What? I brought our daughter to see you, you can't just leave." He scoffed. She sighed at him.
"Look, Calum, you've known for the past nine months that I didn't want this baby. You wanted her. You didn't let me give her up. If you had let me give her up, we wouldn't be in this mess." She spat.
"It's my fault? Listen, she's our baby. She's our responsibility, I'm not giving her up just because we're a bit too young." He snapped. She scoffed at him.
"Just do me a favour. Look at her. Look at her and tell me that you don't want her. That you don't love her." Calum choked. Sarah sighed before looking down at her. She looked back at Calum.
"I don't want her. And I don't love her." She shrugged. Calum shook his head.
"If you don't stay for me, at least stay for her. She needs a mum." He choked.
"And you can find her one. Wait a year or two, get married, she'll never know that your wife isn't her mother." She shrugged.
"We haven't even named her yet." Calum scoffed.
"You name her. I really don't give a shit." She spoke, opening the door. She looked back at Calum.
"Goodbye, Calum. Take good care of our daughter." She muttered before shutting the door. A tear ran down Calum's cheek. He couldn't believe that she didn't want their daughter. His daughter. He sighed and looked down at her before gently picking her up.
"Well, it looks like it's just you and me, baby girl. You and me." He sighed, cradling her close to him.
"It's okay. We can do this. You and me against the world." He smiled gently at her, kissing her head.
